Chapter 67: A model

Liam was faced with the calm of Amelia but the cold face of Riya was very intense, she wouldn't look away from him, it was like he was meeting with her father and the awkwardness was in the air, just that the person sitting across him wasn't her father but her friend or perhaps relative who's a grim reaper. If someone had told him a year ago that he'd be sitting across a grim reaper and an angel while he was still alive, he'd have thought such a person must be crazy. The air between them was very chilled.

" So you are saying you are almost her relative but not just related by blood, care to explain better?", Liam tried to break the ice,

" I don't have any explanation to give, so you tell me what are your plans with her?",

" Are you expecting me to answer when you just ignored my question",

" I have no obligation to answer you",

" Same here, I can't answer someone I don't have the view of who she is",

" I'm a grim reaper",

" I can see that",

" you should be terrified of me",

" I am always ready to die so now will you answer me".

Riya was surprised at how smart, composed, and aloof he was but she wasn't done yet.

" You can always find your answer in the afterlife",

" hmm", Liam nodded, " So you are that ready to put her in a tight position, in no time the cops would find out who I'm last with and they won't only find her, they'll also discover her secret",

" It's easy to erase everyone's memory of you", she said with a cold and straight face making Liam short of words. She's dangerous but now he is finding this more interesting.

" don't know grim reapers can do that", he said looking intensely at her, and when he got a glimpse of her eyelashes battling he knew the answer immediately.

" Stop trying to scare me it won't work, so tell me all I need to know about your relationship with Amelia", he said with confidence.

' He's so daring and brave ', Riya said in her mind, " I'm her brother's fiance",

" her in-law? I see! Where's your brother", Liam asked Amelia,

" He's dead",

" I'm so sorry about that, so a grim reaper and an angel",

" I was once an angel but I died during the war", Riya explained, " so now, what are you planning to do with her",

" In what essence?",

" Don't play dumb with me, I know who you are and I know what you humans do with other creatures",

" So you are thinking that I might carry out some experiment on her? What a nice perception you've got on me", he said nodding his head,

" so I need to know....",

" I'll never put her life in danger, I know the consequences of people finding out about who she is, and I'm not ready to risk her life for anything, It's not me you should be worried about, it's the lack of control of her powers we should be worried about",

" Regarding that, I can make the wings disappear in the meantime, you should avoid the rain for now, till you have control over them again". And with that, they concluded what to do and what she should avoid In the meantime, Liam and Amelia didn't get to have more talk as she was exhausted after making the wings disappear so she just slept off afterward. Riya entrusted her with Liam's care and they somewhat formed a friendship through that.

Liam wished he could talk to Lia and apologize to her for how he treated her for the past few days but once again he did get the chance cause the following day, in the morning, Noah showed up in the house with an agent from the modeling industry. He was lucky enough to meet both Liam and Amelia in the sitting room at the time, Liam was preparing to go to work.

He looked from the man to his brother with a questioning gaze, Noah isn't the type that'll ever visit unless it has a tangible reason,

" Good morning brother", he greeted, smiling nervously,

" Good morning Mr. Liam" " the man who seemed to be in his late forties greeted, he was in a black suit and black shining shoes.

" Good morning", Liam responded returning the handshake,

" I am the CEO of Luxury in Beauty", he said and Liam beckoned him to come inside. The man was filled with smiles and anticipation when he saw Amelia sitting quietly in the sitting room, she smiled back at the unknown man and they greeted each other, he was very friendly with her making her feel comfortable.

" Let me excuse you", Amelia stood up to leave but the man quickly said,

" No no no, don't bother, in fact, I'm here because of you",

" Because of me?", she asked curiously as she sat down back,

" Yes miss",

" What's going on here, Noah?".

Noah cleared his throat trying to avoid Liam's gaze,

" This is Mr. Sebastian Durbar, he's the CEO of Luxury in Beauty",

" It's nice meeting you, Mr. Sebastian",

" Nice meeting you too Mr. Harthorn", he replied and they shook hands again,

" to what occasion do we owe to have a whole CEO of a company in my house",

" I've come personally to honor this beautiful Miss here and to make a proposal",

" To me?",

" yes, miss",

" what proposal please?".

Sebastian took a deep breath and said calmly, "To be a model in my organization",

" A model?!", Liam and Lia asked at the same time and Liam turned to Noah who immediately looked away, avoiding his murderous gaze.

" Yes, a model, and of course I've come up with a contract with a good offer of a good amount of money, fame, and other benefits".

" A minute please", Amelia cut the man short and dragged Liam towards the kitchen.

" what's a model?", she attacked him immediately with a question,

" you don't need to be worried about that, I'll sort this out", he said and made to leave but she pulled him back,

" I want to know".

He lowered his brow, took out his phone, and began to show her some pictures, explaining to her what modeling means, how it was a source of income, and every other thing that evolves around it. They head back when she tells him she fully understood all he said and shows her when they are back, the man who was waiting was a little bit nervous but was ready to give her some time to think but he didn't want to lose the opportunity of having such an angel advertising some brands, it's going to be a huge success no doubt.

" Sorry for keeping you waiting Mr. Sebastian",

" No, of course it's totally fine",

" We really appreciate your offer and all the benefits you mentioned earlier, we are very grateful that it's such a wonderful proposal, but I'm sorry to inform you that we are not interested",

" Umm, she can take her time to think about it though...",

" She has made her...",

" I'll take it", Lia cut them short, " I'll take the offer",

" what?!".

Liam was surprised by that while the other two men were so excited that they wanted to confirm they heard it right.

" what are you doing?", Liam asked in a whisper but she ignored him,

" I want to...be a model".
