Ultimatum
Aiden was clearly not happy with Keith's statement, he really hated Keith's nature of always accusing other people like him. Even though he was trying to control his emotions now, he could explode at any time if Keith continued spouting any more nonsense.
"Keith, you better shut up now!" This time, Gavin took the role of stopping Keith. He knew that if Keith wasn't stopped immediately, there would be a fight here and if that happened, then they might accidentally unleash their demonic powers in front of Lyra.
Keith burst out laughing, the more they tried to stop him, the more eager he became to ruin everything. He knew that Lucas would be too careful about showing his emotions, so nothing could stop him now.
"Hahaha...damn, why are you all so stiff? Can't you relax a little? You work so hard just to stay like statues and eat like slaves? Tch, I don't want to see myself like that."
"No one is forcing you to sit still and eat like a slave here." Lucas said breaking the tension.
Finally, after 10 minutes of putting up with the chaos Keith had caused, Lucas spoke too. He gave Keith a cold and flat look, who immediately covered his mouth after hearing Lucas speak.
It seemed that Aiden felt quite relieved because from the start the only person who could silence Keith was Lucas. However, he was still afraid that Lucas would eventually lose his temper and become uncontrollable.
"So, you don't want me to be here, Lucas?" Keith asked. He knew that Lucas would not be careless in answering his question.
"Whether you want to or not, it all depends on you. I don't really need you on duty, so even if you weren't there, it wouldn't make a difference." He said.
Hearing his words, they all fell silent, including Keith and Lyra. As Lyra expected, even though Lucas didn't seem like the type to let go of his anger too much, he could always silence someone's mouth with his very sharp words. All of this was clearly visible from Keith's facial expression which immediately changed.
He looked angry, surprised, as if he couldn't believe what Lucas was saying. His existence was not so important that his presence would not have any effect. He is the trouble maker and he is also the most disobedient here. However, because Lucas said all that, he felt his ego was hurt and destroyed.
Keith stood up, looking at Lucas with great anger. His face was red and his hands were clenched tightly. Aiden and Gavin started to get ready if Keith suddenly made the wrong move and tried to attack Lucas.
"Keith, calm down! Lucas didn't mean to say that. You'd better sit back down!" Said Lucien who was trying to calm Keith down.
"I ask you, is my existence not important enough to you?" Keith asked. Not only was he angry, he also looked very disappointed.
"You already know that nothing in this world is important enough to me, right? There's no point in asking!"
"I ask you once again, is my existence not important enough to you?" Keith's anger became increasingly clear. Darkness began to envelop him and Lyra could see something strange before her own eyes and made her even more convinced that they were not ordinary humans.
"You're not important, are you satisfied now?"
"Lucas, I think that's too much. You'd better-"
"Shut up, Lucien! I don't want to waste my time looking for answers that won't hurt anyone's feelings. I'll say what I think. Like it or not, it's none of my business." He said.
Lyra shuddered, she didn't know how Lucas could say something so cold like that, especially to his own little brother. How could he say that his brother's existence was not important enough to him, that sounded very selfish.
"Isn't it nice to have lots of siblings?" Even though she didn't really want to interfere, for some reason she felt that she needed to tell them that they were lucky.
"Lyra?" Lucien looked at her confused. But instead of being afraid, she felt confident that she had to tell them something important.
"I was born as an only child, since I was little, my mom and dad always fight. My dad often even hit my mom when he was drunk and also punished me by locking me in the bathroom. When I was 10 years old, my parents took me to a village and asked me to stay temporarily with my mom's sister. They told me that they needed time to repair their relationship and they promised they would pick me back when things got better. I waited for them every day for the three years I waited for them to come to pick me up. But they never came and the woman I thought was my mom's sister told me what really happened. She was not my mom's sister, she was just a stranger who was paid to take care of me temporarily. My parents never repaired their relationship, they divorced and decided to take going our separate ways without me. When I realized when they took me to that place three years earlier that I had been thrown away, I felt so dad, I felt so hurt. I have to live my life alone without anyone, without siblings, without parents, it feels very hard. It was so hard that many times I thought about giving up. Therefore, when I saw all of you I felt very jealous. If only I had more brothers, maybe I wouldn't have to go through all those hardships alone because I could share everything I have with my brothers."
