Slow folk back
"Guys, don't you think we have a problem? I think I'm stuck." Alec called out as she tried drawing her legs from the sand that had already buried half out of it on the ground.
'No, not again." James grunted as he immediately stopped in his tracks.
"James, keep going. Like Rico said, we don't have time." Kate called out but James remained rooted on the spot.
"For the love of life, if you want to make it out of this place alive and safe peter, then you have to stop moving." James cried out and they all stared at Jim likehe had completely gone mad.
"What do you mean? Oh my god, I'm stuck. Wait a minute, is this sinking sand?" Sam wyestioneed turning to look at his other team mates in shock.
"Yes it is, so we have to think of another way to get out of here instead of stumping." James said and they all sighed as fear enveloped them.
"Well does anyone have any ideas because j dont have any experience in this?" Alec cried our as fear was already taking over her.
"Please don't look at me, I don't know what to do." Kate said when she turned and caught all of them staring at her hopefully.
"So this is how we die. So much for saving the world." Alec freaked and while they were talking, James wasn't making at effort at joining in the conversation.
"James!" They all screamed as the adrenaline rush had gotten to them.
"Gosh, I feel like my whole body would be buried." Alec yelled as she tried pulling outher leg but got sunken deeper.
"What the actual hell." Kate screamed and the once quiet desert was filled with the screams of frightened teenagers.
"Can you all keep quiet? I'm trying to think." James yelled as he glared at her.
"All right, we are sorry." Kate simply stated as she tried to keep her fear in check.
It Wasn't like them to scream but rather laugh in the face of danger.
"Let's try to kick the legs that were buried back and forth, this soiod loosen the sand around it and remember not to make any sudden movements, else you would be struggling with the sand for life." Kate turned to give Alec a warnibg sign as thy all began doing Exactly as James instructed.
"Everyone try to lie down slowly and roll. There is no way the quicksand is all over the desert, so let's see how far we roll before we are out of danger. And though I told you to stay calm, that downstairs in anyway imply that you can laze around. We have to be quick to save Peter....and Carly." James reminded as he tried laying with his arms at first and then spread his weight evenly and then they vegan crawling.
They didnt have to crawl too far to get to Norma sand they all breathed deep breaths of relief.
Relief from the fact that they might have died in the quick sand.
Relief that they would be able to sace their freidn once again.
Relief that they might at least be a step closer to having the world.
"So we are here and I can't seem to figure out where the map said we are to go because to me, we are in the middle of an empty desert." Kate said, her eyes scanning the environment one more time and she nodded to herself that she was right after all.
"Give me the map, let me take a closer look at ut." James offered and the group wouldn't lie but James had been showing a great sense of responsibility and authority so Kate quickly pressed the Mao into his hands.
Staring at it, the map indicated that there had to be a firestforest somewhere around here but to their eyes, there was no possible way a desert was here unless there used to be a desert.
"Does it totally mean that the map is wrong? We might have been walking in the wrong direction all these while." Alec said and heaved a deep sigh of disappointment while everyone had their hearts in their hands.
They couldn't have come thus far just to turn right back because the map was wrong!
"What if the map isn't wrong? What if its an illusion just like the way the shadows masked the gate of hell. " James said and they stared at him because they were totally unaware of what he was saying.
"As we approached the gate of hell, it wasn't blazing and fiery hot. Instead it looked pretty and i could almost feel like we had come the wrong direction and was in heaven instead." James explained and they all leaned in, listening keenly.
"But then, there was something off in the whole setting. Sometimes it got hot and they had to water it. What if we are in that same kind of illusion?" James asked staring around and the more he looked, the more he agreed with his assessment that they were definitely trapped in an illusion.
"If its possible that we are in an illusion, then how do we get out? How did the shadows and demons know that we were coming and blocked out the real world?" Kate asked and Alec rubbed her forehead..
She tended to do that when she was under intense pressure.
"Just when I think that we have things all figured iu5, the shadows and other ghastly demons always finds their way to mess my head up." Alec complained as their thoughts ran wil and out on how to get out of the illusion.
"If it is really an illusion, the best thing to do is to rat the demons out. They should be somewhere in here." James announced and immediately he stepped ahead of the other members.
Smiling to himself, shutting his eyes and spreading his hands, he muttered;
"It's been a while, old friend." And immediately, his eyes shone bright blue again while his beast too over.
Flapping its wings, high on the sky...the sand rattled and dust filled the air and all of a sudden, there were noises all over as the bowling of demons were heard from with in them.
"Oh my goodness." Alec exclaimed as she took up a defensive position, their back to each other.
"Its good to see that you came to save your friends." Ubba's voice came from inside of the dust that had reverted up and soon his face was seen with legions of demons behind him.
"What the actual fuck! I never knew there were these much demons on earth." Alec exclaimed as they just stared at the demons that were hungry and waiting to gnaw at their flesh and break their bones while sucking on their blood Deliciously.
"You idiot! How dare you come here?" James heard peter cussed as he clicked his tongue staring at James with tear filled eyes.
"Peter!" That was the only word that could escape out of James voice as he just kept his eyes fixated on Peter.
"All of you are all idiots, but you James? You're the worst. How could you have run into this kind of trap even if I was going to die." Peter yelled as blood trickled from his mouth.
It seemed like he had sustained that injury from a punch when he tried to resist.
"You and Carly are the worst idiots I've seen."
