All Gone wrong
"Hey James, is that you? What's going on right now? What do you need backup for?" Kate asked as fear enveloped them tha something bad might be happening.
James was known as the one person in the group that was always able to keep things under control, so for him to be asking of backup... then something really bad and really huge must have happened.
"You know what? You don't have to answer the questions. Just tell me... where are you? I'll come over immediately." Kate stated as she began retracting her steps.
"Wait, wait... Kate. I thought you said you're already trailiing an Elder. You don't have to leave it, that's also another accomplishment. I'll go help James, since mine is already tasered out." Alec offered before they all heard a grunt from James end.
"James, where are you?" Alec asked as everyone of them was feeling tense and under pressure because if something happened to one of them, then it was most likely to happen to all of them, which was about time.
"Just follow the route that I used and keep walking till you get to a dead end. That's where I'm at right now." James answered and Alec sprinted off from where she was trying to get her own Elder back to the dungeon.
She was absolutely sure that there was no way the Elder would be able to escape even if she abandoned himm here but as she left another thought occured to her.
The search party was still on and it wont be long before they realized that the Elder that had commanded the search had also gone missing.
If they stumbled upon him by any chance, there was every possibility that they would save him.
Looking at the barrel of oil in the alleyway, a thought immediately came to her mind.
She was able to lift the Elder and dump him into the empty barrel of oil in the dark alleyway.
It was getting dark faster anyway and no one was obviously going to walk into dark places at night.
"All right James, I'm on my way." Alec said as she began walking by the corner of blocks, trying her best to avoid the search party and prying eyes of villagers while she ran to help James out.
"Good evening...hello sir." Sam greeted as he walked up to the shadow whose son just waiting at the playground.
"We meet again." That was all the shadow said with a little smirk plastered at the edge of his lips.
"Yeah, we do meet again and it kind of feels good that you recognize me. Not many people would hold the face of a teenager for this long in their memories." Sam started initiating a conversation.
"It's too bad your friends left just you to come and meet me. Don't you feel bothered that something might happen to you and no one would even notice that you disappeared." The Elder growed with a sinister smile on his lips.
"To be very honest, I am way bothered than you think but then I'm not alone and I think it's time you say game over." Sam stated and the cuffs came around the hands of the Elder.
It turns out that San had seen that fighting the Elder might be a dead end so he gave the handcuffs to the little boy and instructed him on what to do with it.
As the handcuffs came around the hands of the Elder, the leader of the guards activated it and the Elder was tasered out.
"Why is he shaking so violently?" The little boy asked as he stared at his father who just laid on the ground motionless after shaking violently for few minutes.
'He's no longer shaking right? Don't worry, you'll be fine. I need you to go home and keep this a secret and in no time, daddy would be back home and back to what he used to be. An Elder that cared for the peace and warmth of the home of homes to everyone." Sam coaxed and the boys eyes dilated.
That was all he wanted!
"What are you going to do with him?" The boy asked yet again and Sam could see fear written all over him.
"I'm just going to talk to him. Now go grab me a Chair, will you?" San beckoned and with that the kid rann off to get the chair.
Sam hurled the Elder over his shoulders and began walking away briskly.
He could not follow the normal route because that will only create attention and to add the fact that he had just ran away from the guards, he needed to be careful.
"Sam, there's a guard on your path. You have to work faster than that to avoid them." The voice of the leader of the guards came bellowing in his ears.
"I'm working as fast as I can." Sam stated but he doubled his peace almost at the same time notwithstanding the fact that he had just said he was walking as fast as he could.
Few hours later, they were all down at the dungeon waiting for James and Alec with their heart's far deep in their stomach.
And few minutes later, James and Alec came in dragging two elders with them.
"My goodness, what took you both so long?" Kate asked as they dumped the Elders inside of the dungeon still with the cuffs on and they locked the dungeon.
"The demon.... I mean the shadow tried to possess James again. No, I feel like it's not all about revenge or chaos or destroying the world, I just think they prefer living in James body." Alec pronounced and James rolled his eyes while Kate chuckled.
"There might be a possibility. You never can tell." Sam concurred and James raised his hands to playfully hit Sam but Sam was quick to duck and they all
"All right, time out. That's enough, we all did well... now what's next? What do we do from here?" Kate questioned and they all looked at themselves.
"I guess the only answer to that is that we wait for the mysterious man to show up and tell us what to do, because he is practically the one telling us what to do now." James suggested and sam nodded his head.
"But think of it this way, let's say the man never returns and goes on his journey. Like he said, he was just a passerby." Alec questioned and the mood was entirely ruined.
"I guess the only thing we can do in that case is to just hope that he would return, else I have no idea what to do with them. Either ways, we have four less splitted shadow off the streets and now we just need more seven of them." Kate said throwing her nads up like she was in some kind of ecstasy.
"Exactly but then it was pretty much sticky for us to get just one of the elders each, how does he intend to get 7 of them?" Alec questioned and yet again silence fell upon them.
"What if he fails in getting the elders and they eventually serve us his head on a platter?" Alec asked again and no one replied.
"Can we not worry about all that now? Just remain in the present, this is the first time we are doing anything independently and we actually crashed it." Kate enunciated and they all cheered.
It was true.
It was really true!
They had never done anything independently and they totally thought they would fumble with it.
"Guys, guess what?" James suddenly spoke up and silence covered them up again before James continued.
"When I needed that back up, my mind went back to Peter? Who knows how he's faring? If he's even alive or—" James was saying and his voice was getting pretty cracky that they began patting his back.
"It's okay." They were all saying and flashed a smile before nodding.
Few minutes afterward, the mysterious man appeared right in front of them with 7 elders sprawled on the floor.
They looked more lifeless that one would mistake them to be dead if not for their chest heaving up and down like they were just in a dog race.
"Is it wrong if I question how he did it? Because I am curious, no offense intended." James whispered and Alec shrugged her shoulders.
"Maybe you should ask. I mean, inquisitive people always get their answers right?" Alec supported and James was about opening his mouth when he saw the Mysterious man speaking and shut it back up.
"Don't ask. I am genuinely not going to tell you. No offense taken." The man replied and that was more like him.
They weren't expecting much from him anyway.
"And nobody is ever going to serve my head on a platter to anyone, Alec." He continued and she turned to stare at him.
"You heard that?" She asked tilting her eyes and he nodded.
"Yeah, I did."
