Chapter 67:
Chapter 67:
Ezmeralda POV:
Everything was in total chaos. Sally clung to my arm as everyone ran in different directions,
“Stay in the middle of us and tell me what you see okay?” I said looking at Sally. She nodded her head and started looking around.
“Queen Ezmeralda! Thank goddess you are here.” Emma yelled out. She stood about five foot four, short brown hair, her skin was a beautiful olive color and her eyes were a soft brown. Her hair was matted and a mess, her clothes were torn.
“We are all here. How many are hurt?” I asked.
“Twenty two as of now. I don’t know where all these black witches came from. The grounds are still protected.” Emma answered.
“This is Sally, black witches have taken humans to use as decoys but Sally can detect them. If she says not to harm someone, don't. You already know what happens if we do.” I said. She looked at Sally and smiled softly.
“You got it, I have to get to the back side, they are throwing bombs every chance they get.” Emma replied.
“Natalie is helping with that, it might take her some time. Stay safe.” I said hugging her.
“I don’t see any humans yet. At least not the ones in front of us.” Sally whispered, and I nodded.
“Stay with Michael and Blake, I’ll be back. Caspian! I need you.” I yelled out. Caspian ran towards me and I smiled.
“Pull your fire as close to you as you can. I don’t want them to see anything just yet.” I mind linked him.
“I will hide it. Don’t get far from me.” Caspian huffed. He was worried. I nodded and walked forward to the group of black witches shifting their eyes between us. They were shocked that we were here.
“You are not welcomed here.” I stated.
“Why don’t you come out here and say it to my face.” One of them snapped.
“Why, so you can all be cowards and jump me? None of you are brave enough to take me one on one so cut the shit. What do you want?” I pressed.
“We aren’t telling you shit and I would be more than happy to take you on by myself.” A stout woman smirked. I held my arms out and created a circle of fire.
“Step through, I’ll meet you there.” I antagonized. When she ran forward I did too. I heard Caspian growl in warning. I knew if any of them tried to get in they would be burned alive.
She swung her fist forward and I slid under her arm, getting back to my feet. With her back still towards me i grabbed the sides of her face and threw myself backwards with my legs tucked into my chest. I heard her back crack when we landed on the ground.
She rolled to the side but still got to her feet and ran at me again. She was swinging both arms like an angry cat and I dodged the ones I could. Her fist connected with my side and I felt my ribs fracture. I kicked my knee out digging it into her stomach before I pulled my fist back and punched her straight in the nose. When she went to the ground I trapped her under my legs and swung at her hitting anything and everything I could.
She grabbed me by the hair and yanked me to the side. While she was trying to get back to her feet I pulled the knife out of my boot and sunk it in the side of her neck. Her eyes went wide as she gasped for air. I inched my face close to hers,
“This is why you don’t challenge a queen.” I seethed before twisting the knife. Her eyes rolled to the back of her eyes and her lifeless body hit the ground. I looked around and noticed the others were starting to inch towards me.
“Heads up!” Bobbie yelled. She was running forward, her hair raised and bolts running down her arm. She raised her hand and I lifted my shield in different parts around me. Each bolt that hit my shield ricocheted off my shield and directly to the black witches. Their bodies exploded around me.
“Have you lost your mind?! Get back over here.” Bobbie snapped. I ran towards her and she looked me over.
“You’ll need to see a doctor. Bravo by the way but don’t do that again.” Bobbie said.
“I can’t make any promises.” I replied.
“We have the front taken care of, Adira went to help Natalie. That means there are only the back sides left.” Bobbie informed me.
“Let’s get it done so we can go home.” I said.
“Ezmeralda! Are you okay?” Sally questioned. I could see the worry all over her face.
“I am fine. Nothing I can’t heal from. We have to get to the bac-” I started to say before I was cut off by screaming. I looked to see Natalie was flying through the air. Adira was laying on the ground. Mariah was already running their direction.
“Let Mariah handle it. We need to help the others.” Bobbie said stopping me.
“What if she’s really hurt?” I questioned. I didn’t like this feeling I was having.
“Natalie is calling me.” Michael said as he took off running. I relaxed a little bit knowing they had help. I looked at Bobbie and nodded.
“Where are the other warriors?” I asked looking at Blake.
“On their way to the back.” He answered. I grabbed Sallys hand and pulled her behind me, making sure she still stayed in the middle of us. When we got to the back it was complete chaos. Wolves, vampires and witches running everywhere.
“There! A human!” Sally shouted and I stopped in my tracks.
“Which one?” I questioned.
“Black and gray tank top. Tattoo on her arm.” Sally replied.
“Bobbie, with me. Ash, Blake, stay with her.” I said. They both nodded their heads planting Sally between them. I looked forward and noticed the woman wasn’t fighting and she was outside of the protection.
“I’ve got your back, let’s go get her.” Bobbie said as her eyes turned white and the familiar cracking of her electricity filled my ears. Together we ran forward. The closer we got the more I noticed that some wolves were starting to surround us. I knew Ash had sent them with us.
As soon as we crossed the protection black witches noticed and started running towards us. The wolves started breaking apart while Bobbie was letting her power run wild. I extended my shield around me just as I got to the young woman.
“I need you to come with me. I know you are human.” I said quickly. Her bright blue eyes turned wide and she nodded.
“Stay right next to me, my shield will protect us and we have help.” I yelled as I grabbed her by the arm and started running back towards the protection.
“Where do you think you are going?!” A black witch shrieked.
“Away from you.” I said raising my arms releasing the fire I was holding tight to. In an instant she went up in flames screaming as she died. I looked over my shoulder to see the black witches were retreating to wherever it is that they came from.
“Are you alright?” I asked, looking the young woman over.
“I don’t know.. What is happening?” She asked.
“You were taken, where is your family?” I asked.
“I don’t have a family. Or one I talk to. I was sleeping and woke up to them dressing me. They didn’t tell me anything.. They dragged me here and untied my hands and told me not to move.” She replied. Well at least she wasn’t taken from her family.
“What is your name?” I asked.
“Cindy. Who are you people?” She asked.
“I’m Ezmeralda, queen of the dark witches. This is one of my covens that came under attack so we came to help.” I replied.
“I didn’t think you guys were real. Can I go home?” She asked.
“I don’t think it’s safe for you to go back to your place. Do you have friends or anyone that you could stay with?” I asked.
“I just moved here.. I haven’t even found a job yet.” She sighed. I looked at Ash,
“Why don’t you come back with us until everything is over. We can find you a job.” I offered. She smiled at me,
“Are you serious? Thank you!” Cindy replied.
“I’m very serious. There is a war happening and any human we rescue can choose to come back with us or not. Do you need anything from your house?” I asked.
“I would like to get some clothes at least.” Cindy replied.
“Okay, let us finish up here and we will take you there. You can stand by Sally.” I smiled.
“Sally can fill you in on everything once we get you two inside.” I added and she nodded.
“Queen Ezmeralda! It looks like they are all retreating. Thank you so much for coming.” Emma shouted as she ran up to us.
“I’m always going to come no matter what. Have any of our people died?” I asked.
“No ma’am, we are injured though. Natalie is one of them.” Emma answered.
“What happened to her?” Ash asked. Blake moved closer to hear as well.
“She took a very close hit from a bomb. She is burned on parts of her face, chest and shoulder. Queen Adira washed her eyes out somehow but she is okay.” Emma replied.
“Take us to her.” I whispered. I could see the anger on Blake and Ashs’ faces. I could hear Sally telling Cindy that everything was going to be okay and that she was safe.
We started walking forward when Mariah and Wayne caught up to us and followed us in. The main room of the coven house was being used to treat those that are injured. I saw Natalie laying on a bed and I ran forward.
“Natalie! Oh goddess.. You are going to be okay.” I whispered, pushing her hair to the side.
“I’ll heal, none of you are hurt are you?” She asked.
“Not like you. Will is going to kill us.” I muttered and she laughed before she winced. I looked back to see eyes were on me,
“Pack your bags. All of you are coming back with us. You’ll be safe and fully taken care of.” I announced. It was like I lit a fire under their asses because everyone started running in different directions.
“Adira, what happened to you?” I asked looking at her shoulder.
“A knife happened but I’m alright.” She grimaced. Michael was sitting next to her holding her hand. I can only assume he was not only comforting her but blocking the thoughts that I’m sure are running wild right now. I pulled my phone out and dialed Talons number,
“Ezmeralda, is Emmas coven alright?” Talon asked.
“No, we have several injuries, no deaths. Natalie is hurt. I am bringing everyone back. We will need doctors. Meet us in the field in fifteen minutes.” I replied. I hung up and looked around. Most of everyone was ready and waiting.
“Emma, make sure everyone is here and then we will go.” I said looking at her. She nodded before walking off counting everyone. I couldn’t help but stare at Natalie. I didn’t want anyone to get hurt, I hated that she was injured.
“Everyone is accounted for.” Emmas voice cut through my thoughts.
“Everyone grab onto each other and hang on. Teleportation won’t take long.” I announced. As soon as everyone had a hand on someone I pictured the field that I told Talon about and when I opened my eyes We were standing in the middle. Those who are injured laying on the ground.
“We need doctors!” Ash yelled out.
“Let’s get the two of you inside.” I stated, grabbing onto Sally and Cindy. This was starting to look like a very long night..
