Chapter 66:
Chapter 66:
Natalie POV:
Now that we started to get the hand of everything and the sun was starting to go down I wanted to check in with everyone else.
“How are you feeling after that?” I asked, looking between them.
“I feel more confident that I can actually do it. I won’t lie, I really had my doubts.” Adira replied.
“You should never doubt yourself. We all know we can do anything we put our minds to. We just need to try to perfect them.” I stated.
“I feel okay about it. I know mine isn’t as strong as the two of you but it’ll still help. I honestly feel really tired.” Michael answered. I turned and looked at him and he did look like he hadn’t slept in days.
“Why don’t you get some food and go lay down?” Adira questioned.
“I’ll be fine. I want to know how Blake and Ash did today.” Michael replied. I wrapped my arm around his and took a deep breath. Spirit was one I still needed to work on and who better to test it out on. Michael needed strength to get him through the rest of the day and as soon as the thought came into my head I felt my check tingle a little bit before it went away. Michael tensed for a moment and then his eyes shifted to mine,
“Thank you.” He whispered, kissing the top of my head.
“Anytime, can’t have you falling out on us. Maybe you only use them when it’s an emergency but we need to know your limit before you get this exhausted.” I said.
“We can test that out tomorrow or something. I don’t see sparks or flames so maybe they tired themselves out. How is Will doing?” Michael questioned.
“He is doing good. Him and Jordan have been spending time together today. Will is being overly cautious and I can’t blame him.” I shrugged.
“We all are but Sienna has him hidden and protected.” Michael reminded me.
“I know, when you two have children I could absolutely see you being a helicopter dad.” I laughed.
“What is so funny?” Ezmeralda asked smiling up at us.
“Michael being a helicopter dad. How did it go today?” I asked.
“It went really good! We learned a few things but I think we are all feeling a bit tired.” Bobbie replied. I looked around to see Ash and Blake did look tired and Sally had her nose in a book.
“What are you reading?” I asked.
“It’s a book about kitsunes, I believe Ezmeralda and Bobbie are creating something like fox fire and if they are, it'll be incredibly handy.” Sally beamed.
“What is foxfire?” Adira asked.
“It comes from Kitsunes, some can create fire and use it as a shield and to shield others, some can channel electricity but together it creates chaos but in a good way if it is used currently. I am still reading up on it.” Sally answered.
“She figured it out when she was watching us, our auras showed her something I think and while we have been practicing she has been reading.” Ezmeralda shrugged.
“Smart young lady.” Adira smiled.
“Are you guys okay? Your auras are dimmed and your wolves look really tired.” Sally said. Her head tilted to the side before she smiled.
“I can feel him in there prancing around.” Michael muttered.
“He just wants to show off. It isn’t often he gets to come out and play.” Adira winked.
“While we are all here I wanted to talk about the witches we have in the cells.” I started as I sat down next to Mariah.
“When would you like to handle this?” Mariah asked.
“I was thinking tonight after we ate but everyone is tired and I don’t want to push myself any harder than I have.” I replied. Now that I thought about it and actually sat down I was pretty worn out myself.
“So let’s do it tomorrow morning after breakfast. We need to take the day to plan the ceremony as well. It’s only a few weeks away.” Mariah said and I nodded my head.
“Yes, mom has been screaming at me through the mind link all day. She is excited but she is a bit impatient.” Ash huffed.
“I know she is, you would think one of us was getting married or something. Do we have enough room for literally everyone?” I asked.
“Yes we do. I don’t want them traveling by foot or anything so what would you think about teleporting them here?” Ash asked. I wasn’t shocked he was asked, I knew he didn’t want them off the lands now that they have been protected.
“We can do that. I can coordinate something with the witches.” I replied.
“I’ll help. Dahlias coven can teleport and I’ll start calling the rest in soon enough. We have plenty of room at our place.” Ezmerlada stated.
“As do we, we can also house anyone else that we need to.” Adira added. It was nice to actually have help honestly.
“We can do that. We will supply whatever we need to at the very least.” Wayne replied.
“How many is there exactly? I mean humans are aware but we never really seen any of you.” Sally said.
“A lot. All the white witches are here though. There aren’t many left but I am hoping to change that.” I smiled.
“I have about forty covens including mine here. Dark witches populate faster I think, unless a new vampire is created.” Ezmeralda said.
“We are about the same honestly. Creating vampires by blood is not something I allow. Your mom was different though.” Adira said. I could see the confusion on Sallys face,
“Bad things happened and we had no choice but to turn Evanora, I’m sure Ezie can explain better later on. It’s a lot to take in at once.” I shrugged.
“Queen Ezmeralda, we have a problem.” Malachi nearly yelled as he ran up to us.
“What is the problem?” Ezie asked.
“Black witches are attacking Emmas coven out east.” Malachi replied and I felt my heart sink. Ezmeralda jumped to her feet,
“Gather our warriors and bring them to me now!” Ezie shouted. Ashs eyes glazed over and his voice boomed in my head calling for warriors.
“We need to get you inside.” Ezmeralda said, looking at Sally.
“No, she has to come with us, remember, what if they have humans?” Mariah questioned. She was right. Sienna just gifted her but she looked like she was going to pass out.
“You are right. Stay close to me at all times unless I say otherwise. You’ll be safe, I promise.” Ezie said, trying her best to give a reassuring smile. Warriors from all angles came running from different directions.
“Listen to me, black witches may have taken humans. If Sally tells you not to harm someone you are not to harm them. She is to be protected at all costs.” Ezmeralda announced. The power she was seething with right now was astonishing. I had only seen it a few times but never this close.
“Blake, stay with her.” Bobbie said.
“You too Michael.” Adira added. They both nodded knowing these two women could protect themselves.
“If a human is detected, get them out of there as fast as you can.” Ezmeralda said.
“Everyone grab on, Ezie, take us to Emma.” I said looking at her and she nodded once. I felt the rush of wind and everytime I cracked my eyes open in the midst of moving. It was like sitting on a train watching the trees go by. When we arrived I blinked a few times and it was pure chaos.
The grounds were protected but the amount of bomb bags that were being thrown in to destroy everything was so much. I could hear people screaming.
“Help them! Sally, Blake, Michael and Ash with me. Adira and Bobbie you know what to do. Natalie build blockades. Mariah seal the grounds.” Ezmeralda yelled. I didn’t waste a single second, reminding myself not to get too close to the border. The last thing I wanted was to get hit by something.
“Hello white witch.” A sickly voice called out. I looked up to see a male black witch, half of his face was scales, his eyes were yellow slits and his face was sunk in. I would never get used to seeing these grotesque creatures. It made my stomach roll.
“We’ve been looking for you.” A female sang out next to him. I didn’t reply to either of them, I had no interest in having a conversation. All I wanted to do was protect as many as I could. I placed my hands on the ground, picturing in my head huge hedges drenched in water. I was hopeful that the water would absorb anything from the bombs they were throwing and stop it on impact.
The ground under me shook and I looked up to see they were forming out of the ground and I smiled, it was working!
“Stop her!” The female witch shrieked and I saw the male reaching for a bag. I pushed with everything I had and finally got it up just in time for the hedge to take the hit. I fell backwards but wasn’t harmed at all and my idea had worked. I could hear them shouting from behind the little wall I had created. They were about to attack from every angle possible and I needed to get my ass in gear.
I moved to the left again, placing my hands on the ground. I made sure to stay a little behind the first wall when I heard my name being called. I looked over my shoulder to see Adira running right at me.
“Get down!” Adira screamed. I rolled to the side just in time to miss a bomb that was thrown my way. I shook my head and looked back at Adira. Her eyes were blazing green, she slammed her siphon to the ground and it was like an earthquake. The ground started to open in different directions around me and I could hear screaming. I peaked around the hedge to see some of them had fallen in.
“How the hell did you do that?!” I yelled, concentrating on what I was doing.
“I don’t know.. I just needed them to be gone.” Adira shrugged.
“How can I help?” She asked.
“Make sure I don’t get blown up.” I grunted as more hedges sprung from the ground. She stayed close to me, her eyes now back to the familiar deep red. She was scanning the area.
“How bad is it?” I asked over my shoulder.
“Bad. There are maybe fifty black witches. The others are holding them off and so far Sally has not spotted any humans.” Adira replied.
That was actually a relief but that meant we needed to get Sally away from everything. This can’t be good for her. I stood to my feet feeling a little light headed, I shook my head slightly before looking back at Adira. I saw a bag flying through the air and I ran forward knocking Adira to the side. The bad landed not far in front of me, sending me backwards.
My intake of smoke was too much, I couldn’t help but cough and I thought I was choking at one point. My eyes felt like they were on fire.. I couldn’t see anything.
“Natalie! Natalie let me see.” Adira screamed. I felt her hands on my head,
“Shit, you got burned. Hold tight.” Adira cursed.
“I need to wash your eyes out. Sit still.” Adira added. I felt her hand cover my eyes and then water was running down my face.
“What happened?!” Mariah shrieked.
“Fucking bag bomb! I washed her eyes out, she is burned. Stay with her.” Adira replied before her hand was gone and I felt Mariah helping me stand. I blinked my eyes a few times and everything was so blurry.
“We need to get you inside.” Mariah said.
“No, I need to finish this. Where is Michael?” I asked.
“MICHAEL! I need you.” I screamed through the link. I could hear his wolf running right at me before the familiar sound of bones cracking hit my ears.
“NAT?! What the hell?” Michael stated.
“Help me finish the walls. I need to finish it.” I replied.
“Fine, Mariah tell Wayne to get his ass over here to cover us.” Michael stated.
This was now turning into a disaster.
