Chapter 80 EIGHTY
Chapter 80 EIGHTY
#####80
Rosa’s P.O.V
I was totally at a loss for words to say as I stared at the shopping bags in her hands. As much as my heart was leaping for joy inside of me, I couldn't help but to feel sad because a part of me hated him and another part of him was still something that I was trying so hard to understand. Different thoughts raced through my mind as I placed my hands on my waist, clicking my tongue in my mouth.
I took a deep breath and hesitated collecting the shopping bags from her because never in my wildest dream did I ever imagine that Xavier would actually buy things for me. His gesture made me recollect how he rubbished my previous dresses as being garbaged and he vowed to get new ones from me when we get to Scotland. Maybe this was what he meant by him getting me new clothes. Maybe I shouldn't attach meaning to his words because he was just fulfilling his promise.
When the female attendant noticed how lost I was in my thoughts, she cleared her throat in a bid to garner my attention. Whek
I fixed my gaze on her, a bright smile formed on her face as she dropped the shopping bags before me. She fiddled with her fingers, nursing her lips slightly before proceeding to talk.
“Actually, the man outside said that you should actually try those dresses on” She said as her face blushed with red. I retained the straight expression on my face, wondering what could cause her to be so excited to the extent of her blushing before me.
She smiled widely as silence pervaded between us. She took a step and was about to leave when she suddenly stopped on her track and turned to look at me. “I know that I am in no place to say things that concern you or should I put this way, your personal matters! But I am here to tell you that the man standing outside really likes you with passion and you should stop being so scared of him” She said before hastening her steps as she left the dressing room, leaving me in utter silence.
Her words kind of left me in great pondering and the more I thought about it, the more I came to the realization that there was no way Xavier would like me because if he indeed liked me, he wouldn't keep me against my will.
“But he kissed me” I muttered under my breath, fiddling with my fingers as I crouched down, reaching my hands for the bag containing the clothes that Xavier got for me. I sat on the bench in the dressing room with different thoughts racing through my mind as I leaned forward my forearm and cradled my head in my hands.
The female attendant's words lingered in my head and for a second, I couldn't believe that I was actually contemplating her words. First of all, he kissed me, secondly, he has been acting jovial toward me although he was someone of mercurial temperament, there were times when he was harsh toward me and there were times when he treated me with great care.
“What in the world was happening?” I muttered to myself as I squeezed my eyes shut and wrapped my hands tightly around the shopping bag.
I had no idea if I should be excited or if I should be sad that he was actually getting me something and at the moment, I hated how I felt because a part of me was making it seem like I was doing bad by actually planning to leave Xavier.
“What if he had a good side to him? What if he is just pretending to be nice because he wants to gain something from me? What could that be? There is nothing Xavier would want from me since I wasn't special to him in any way, nor did I possess anything that might be of good use to him”I said to myself.
The knock that landed on the door broke my train of thoughts and the voice of the female attendant from earlier echoed through the air. I jumped to my feet instantly as my brows furrowed in nothing but utter confusion. I was going to give her a piece of my mind and there was no two ways about that!
“Are you ready now?” The female attendant said from the outside and somehow, the happiness in her voice kind of triggered all my senses and the only thing I wanted was to pour out my heart and how I really felt at the moment.
I pulled the curtain to the left, opening the door, raising a brow as I shot her a glare that left her in confusion. Maybe she lacked a sense of discernment or maybe she had no idea about what it means when someone's expression changes because the way she kept smiling like a goat infuriated me.
She was about speaking when I pointed my hands to her in a halt.
“Earlier, when you came, you mentioned something about Xavier liking me. First of all, I would love to give you a piece of my mind or should I say school you? I want to ask a question, if a random person comes in here, quivering with fear and let us say that she is accompanied by a male and despite seeing the fear in her eyes and just by the littlest from of love shown to her by this male, would you assume that the man really likes her?” I said, raising a brow.
Her brows furrowed in confusion as she kept her gaze fixed on me.”I am sorry, I have no idea about what you mean and where exactly you are driving!”
A scoff escaped my lips as I leaned forward with a smirk creeping at the corner of my lips. “Don't be the reason why people would stay in relationships that they are trying to escape.”
