Chapter 79 SEVENTY NINE

Chapter 79 SEVENTY NINE
#######79

Rosa’s P.O.V

I swirled in my pink puffy gown, turning around till I found myself spinning around the room. When I was walking closely behind Xavier the other time, I was pushing the luggage and accessing the whole building with my eyes when I caught sight of the pink fluffy dress.

It was as if I was bewitched and at that moment, I didn't care about anything else other than the dress which sparkled as if it was surrounded by the whole galaxy. I was enchanted and its beauty was something that I was unable to pull away from.

My heart juddered in my chest and as if I was cast under a spell, I couldn't believe that I used the money that I intended on using whenever I arrived in Scotland. I bought the dress for a ridiculous price although it was worth it in the end.

Different thoughts raced through my mind when I was making payments to the cashier. A voice kept reminding me about how I was about to make the saddest decision of my life because I was surely going to regret it while another part of me supported me, telling me about how u would only live once and since I hardly got things for myself, trying to buy something for myself for the first time in my life wouldn't be that bad of an idea.

“It can't be that bad though! If things get worse and I get stranded here, then I would look for a part-time job! If things get worse than I could ever imagine, then I would go to one of the remote villages in Scotland! Start a new life and do all the things that I wasn't chanced to do because Xavier wouldn't let me” I muttered to myself.

When I bought the dress, I felt tears whelm in my eyes because, for the first time in my life, I was able to do something without living in the fear of who was coming after me.

My mom’s words replayed in my head, causing me to sniffle in the tears that were threatening to fall. “Irene, you are all that matters”

When I tried that dress on, it felt more like I was going into a new dispensation, like I was about to be set free from the shackles of fear and debts that tied me down. When I spun in the dress, I felt my heart leaping for joy and my mother’s smiley face flashed through my head somehow, I felt hit by a sudden feeling of guilt because I would never forget how I treated her that night.

The night when I cried my eyes out and heaped all the blame on her.

I was still spinning in my dress when I heard a voice that jolted me out of the thoughts that I was drowned in.

“Irene” His cold hoarse voice jolted me out of my thoughts as I turned to look at him with my eyes almost popping out of my socket. My eyes widened and it looked like I was in a trance!

The more I stared at him, the more I concluded that I wasn't in a trance and everything that was happening before me was damn real. Xavier was standing before me with his mouth agape as he gaped at me in silence.

I bit the corner of my lower lips and when I glanced at Damian, the look on his face wasn't any different!

I was at a loss for words to say and the next thing I did was let out a shriek as I ran back to the dressing room, panting heavily while placing my hands on my chest. I squeezed my eyes shut, gulping on my spittle as I heaved out a sigh.

For a second, I was starting to wonder how they were able to find me. Was I seeing right or did I have a problem with my eyesight? I was sure that I was seeing right and it was Damian and Xavier.

I crumbled to the ground and I was starting to have doubts about my whole escape plan. What if there was a possibility that my escape plan would turn out to be a flop with the way the two of them lurked around me? Wait for a second, how did they even know that I was here in the first place?

Because from what I could vividly remember, the two of them were so occupied with their businesses that they didn't even pay any attention to me in any way. I heaved a sigh and crouched on the floor, cradling my head in my hands.

A knock landed on the door and broke my train of thought as I raised my head while heaving out an exasperated sigh. “Can I come inside?” The feminine voice from the outside said, causing me to huff in an irritating manner.

Even though I was scared that the woman might have come in the company of Xavier and Damian, I shoved the thoughts aside because there was no way the woman would put her job on the line and act so unprofessional by allowing them into the female's dressing room.

I swallowed the heavy lump that formed in my throat and I was about to talk but when I opened my mouth, I realized that I was at a loss for words to say. I ran my hands through my hair and squeezed my eyes shut, my heart heating with trepidation as I placed my hand on the doorknob.

I was about to twist the doorknob when another knock landed on the door. I almost jumped to my feet as I bit the corner of my lower lip and swung the door open.

The female attendant was standing there with different shopping bags in her hands. “The man who came looking for you picked this for you.” She said, beaming with a bright smile.
