Chapter 77 Seventy seven
Chapter 77 Seventy seven
######77
Xavier's P.O.V
Never in my life have I seen someone as excited as Irene. She walked closely behind me and even though my gaze wasn't fixed on her, I could hear how she would chatter to herself most of the time, she would stay rooted to her track, admiring the beautiful decorations.
Whenever I looked behind me to see who was making so much noise, she would pause and smile awkwardly to herself while increasing the pace at which she walked. She was pulling a lot of bags behind her and somehow, I didn't seem to really care about it because I was actually bothered about something else.
Damian broke my train of thoughts by connecting with me through the mind-link. I turned to look at him, wondering what would cause him to not talk.
“If you talk and communicate with me instead of using the mind-link the whole time, would the heavens fall or would it add or remove anything from your age?” I asked with a glare on my face.
He shook his head and rubbed his fingers under his nostril while I rolled my eyes before fixing my gaze back to me.”What is so important that you couldn't say before Irene?”
“Alpha Xavier, the thing is, I don't think that Irene being the one pulling the luggage makes sense at the moment. You know that she is your wife and if the paparazzi sees her doing this, they would taint your image on the media and they would surely wreak havoc” Damina said while I slowly nodded in agreement to his words because, in the end, he was right.
“You are making a lot of sense at the moment! I never knew that you were so sensible! Kudos to you!” I said while he tilted his head to the left, squinting his eyes as if he was trying to process my words.
What he said made a lot of sense because the Paparazzi were always unpredictable and they always lurked around like a predator about to pounce on its prey. But wait for a second, there was no one who really knew about my trip except for Kourtney and some of the pack members.
I turned to look at Damian, raising a brow. “How would the Paparazzi take pictures of me when I am sure that they have no idea about me being here!” I said as and he was about responding to my words when we heard a noise that emanated up the stairs.
A group of reporters rushed down the stairs, almost stomping on each other as they flashed the camera’s right on my face. My eyes almost popped out of it’s sockets, wondering how they knew that I was here.
I turned to look in another direction and a group of reporters were rushing towards me. I stared at Damian and before I could even talk, he cut in instantly. “Alpha Xavier, I can swear on the moon goddess that I had no idea about this and no outsider knows about you being here! I swear that I don't even know how they got here”
I palmed my forehead and turned to look at Irene but I was thrown into a state of shock and I was at a loss for words to say when I couldn't find her behind me. The luggage she was pulling behind her was still there but the problem was that she wasn't there, making me wonder where she disappeared to.
“Where is Irene?” I questioned, shooting a glare at me.
“Alpha Xavier, we were both here together! How am I supposed to have an idea about where she is?” He retorted.
“I already mind-linked the body guards and they would soon be here at……” Before he could finish talking, the door to the hotel swung open and the bodyguards ran toward us.
I heaved a sigh of relief as they encircled us. However, my heart still palpated with fear because how in the world did Irene just disappear like that when she was behind me the whole time.
“Something isn't adding up!Could it be that she wandered off already because how in the world did she just vanish” I thought to myself.
I pulled Damian closer to me, whispering in his ear amidst the noise that echoed through the air. “We need to get out of this place and find Irene! Since we are both wearing T-shirts underneath our coats, we should remove it and distract the reporters away from us! There should also be a nose cover and a face cap in your backpack right?” I questioned as he nodded his head.
“Yes! There's not even one but three. I brought it along in case something like this happens” He answered while I gave him a pat on his shoulder.
“I am thankful that you are using your senses for the first time! We need to find Irene before anyone recognizes her as my wife because if they do recognize her, they would know that she was the one pulling the luggage behind me” I said to Damian with my fists clenched by my side.
Only the moon goddess knew where Irene was at the moment. I only hoped that something bad didn't happen to her in the course of her wandering off and most importantly, I hoped that whatever happens today wouldn't taint my image before the media.
The bodyguards managed to distract the reporters as they ran toward another entrance that led to the building, thereby confusing the reporters who thought that they were misled. We fled the scene instantly and began searching the whole hotel for Irene.
We searched the restaurant, the laundry room, the casino and most especially, the Karaoke room. I ran my hands through my hair, obviously frustrated already because we have been going back and forth in circles without finding her since we began searching for her.
Damian panted as he dragged his feet toward me.
“Are you sure that we have searched the whole place?”
