Xavier's P.O.V

Even though it was all dark and I couldn't see her face properly, her eyes gleamed in the darkness and shone like all the rarest of the stars were gathered inside her eyes. I lifted my hand and brushed my hands through her face as she attempted to say a word but I brushed my fingers through her lips before expelling out a sigh and tugging my hands down my pockets.

"We would surely go to Scotland tomorrow and maybe you should go to bed now, I don't want to bother you about anything," I said while she slowly removed my hands that were hung on her shoulders.

She switched on the light and kept her gaze fixed on me before proceeding to talk. She stood before me and even though she wasn't saying a word at the moment, I could see how hard she was trying to talk to me.

She heaved out a sigh and tugged the strands of hair that fell on her face behind her ear. Silence pervaded between us and that was the only thing that I wanted! I just wanted everything to be calm, peaceful, and serene between us.

It was not as if I could read what was going through her mind but I knew that she must be trying to ask me questions about why I fainted and why I faint most of the time like I mentioned to her. As much as every touch of hers always brought peace and serenity to my soul, I doubted that I wanted her to know about the things going on in my life.

What if it changes the way she sees me? Why do I even care about how she sees me? What was this persistent feeling that made it look like I must please Irene in all ways?

I exhaled loudly and fixed my gaze on her while she fixed her gaze on me as well and it looked like she was trying to read through me. I was about to assure them that there was nothing wrong with me, I also wanted to tell her not to ask about my past because even though I couldn't read through her, I knew that was what she was trying to ask.

I was about to talk when she suddenly cut in.

"Alpha Xavier is there a possibility that you were the one who flashed light on my face because I saw someone outside the window of my room? Were you the one? Because you must be the one since you haven't slept a wink"

My brows furrowed in confusion, trying to grasp what she was trying to say. I wouldn't deny the fact that I was completely taken aback by her words because that was what I was expecting her to say however, I was more confused when she made mention of seeing someone standing at her window.

The fascinating thing was that she thought it was me!

"Well, my response to your question is that I am not the one because I have been in the kitchen for hours now so i know nothing about what you just said right now. However, I think that the person that could have flashed a light right at your face could have been one of the patrol members" I said to her while she nodded her head.

"However, there was something weird that I noticed. No one drives in the midnight and I definitely heard the honking sound of a car and I doubt that it's any of the patrol members who caused that" Irene said as she kept her gaze fixed on me.

She was right! No one around the pack house drives at midnight because most of them transform into their werewolf form at night and the more I think about it if Irene said that someone flashed directly at her face, then if the person was a patrol member, the light should have been flashed directly on her face.

"Irene, when you said someone flashed a light directly at your face, was the person in his human form or werewolf form?" I questioned as she searched her eyes around as if she and trying to recollect something.

She bit the corner of her lower lips, squinting her eyes before fixing her gaze back on me. "Alpha Xavier, I couldn't capture the person's face because everything happened so fast and I don't know" She sighed, fiddling with her hands while I bobbed my head.

"It must be a patrol member then, don't be scared about anything! I would surely ask around from the patrol members tomorrow. So don't worry about it and please go to bed because we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow " I said as she smiled so bright that it looked like her smile could illuminate the darkest corners of a room.

She might not be that vocal about her thoughts but with the look on her face, I could see how excited she was about the trip.

"Are you that excited about going to Scotland?"

"Yes, Alpha Xavier, I am really excited about it" She muttered to herself while bobbing her head slowly as she grinned ear to ear

She lowered her head and attempted to leave while I yelled for her to stop. She stopped on her track and turned to look at me with a confused look on her face.

"What's wrong Alpha Xavier, do you need help to get to your room? I can help you to your room" She said as her lips pursed slightly.

I took in a deep breath because even I had no idea why I told her to stop. She squinted her eyes at me suspiciously as she folded her hands behind her back.

"Do you need help with anything?" She reiterated.

A smile formed on her face as I dragged my feet to where she was standing. "I told you to stop because I wanted to walk by your side."
