CHAPTER 163
THIRD PERSON'S POV

The hospital room was very quiet. The only sounds were the beeps from the machines and the far away hum of the city outside the window.

Elysia had slept for a hours. Her body felt weak. Her mind was still spinning from the news about her pregnancy and how sick Kieran was.

She could not stay still. She could not wait longer. She had to see Kieran.

Thomas and William walked on both sides of her as she moved slowly down the hall. They held her up to keep her steady. Their presence helped her feel a little better.

Her legs felt weak. Her body shook from being so tired and sad but she would not turn back.

"He is in here, sweetheart." Thomas said softly. His voice sounded like he was about to cry. "They moved him to a room. Kieran is stable."

William pushed the door open. His face looked very tense. "Take your time Sia. We will be outside if you need us."

Elysia walked into the room. Her breath caught in her throat.

Kieran lay in the bed. His face was pale. His body was very still. There were tubes and wires around Kieran and the soft beeping reminded her how fragile he was.

His eyes were closed. He looked peaceful almost like he was just sleeping. She knew the truth. Kieran was in a coma. His body was healing. His mind was far away.

She walked to the bed slowly. Her legs were shaking. She sat down in the chair next to him, and reached for his hand. His skin felt cool. His fingers felt limp in her hand.

"Kieran," She whispered. Her voice cracked. "I am here. I am here."

She looked at his face, she looked at his jaw and his eyelashes. She remembered the time she saw Kieran. He seemed cold and bossy back then.

She remembered how he changed. She remembered how he let her in and how much he loved her.

She pressed his hand against her stomach. The bump was small just a tiny curve. It was a secret she had just found out about.

"Kieran, I have something to tell you!" She said softly, her voice was shaking. "We are going to have another baby. I found out today after I fainted. The nurse said I am a month along."

She let the tears fall freely. "You are going to be a father. Hope is going to be a big sister. We are going to have a family, Kieran. A beautiful family."

She took a breath to calm herself. "And I cannot do this by myself. I cannot imagine life without you. I cannot raise our children alone. I need you Kieran. I need you to come back to me."

She pressed his hand harder against her stomach. She wanted Kieran to feel the life growing inside her.

"Please, Kieran!" She whispered, sounding desperate. "Please come back. I cannot do this without you. I cannot face the future without you. You are my love. You are my strength. You are my hope."

She thought about the trial and the scary threats from Victor Kane. She thought about the fight for justice and the danger out there.

She thought about all the times she would have to be alone. She thought about the wins and the losses and the long days and nights.

"Who will be there to cheer for me when I win my cases?" She asked, er voice broke again. "Who will be there to hold me when I lose? Who will be there to fight beside me when I face Kane?"

She leaned forward and put her head against his hand. "I cannot do this without you Kieran. I need you. I need you to come back to me. Please. Please come back."

The room stayed silent. The only answer was the beep of the machines. She held his hand while her tears fell on his skin.

"I love you." She whispered. "I love you so much. I am not going to give up on you. I will be here every day until you wake up. When you do I will be right here waiting for you."

Outside the room Elizabeth held Hope, she was talking softly to the girl. William stood by the door, he looked very tense as he stared out the window. Thomas walked back and forth with his hands behind his back.

"She is strong." Elizabeth said softly. "She will get through this."

"She has to." William said, his voice sounded rough. "For Kieran. For the baby. For Hope."

Thomas stopped walking and looked at the closed door. "She is stronger than she knows. She is not alone. We are here for her."

Inside the room Elysia sat with Kieran. She kept holding his hand. She spoke softly to him about Hope and the baby and the life they made together.

"We are going to be okay!" She said firmly. "All of us. You, me, Hope and the baby. We are going to be okay."

She kissed the back of his hand. "I am going to be strong for you. For our family. I am going to fight for justice and I am going to win. When you wake up we will celebrate together."

She stood up slowly, her legs were shaking. She felt sure about what she had to do. She looked at Kieran, he was the man she loved and the father of her children.

"I love you so much, Kieran." She said softly, her voice was steady now. "And I am going to see you soon. I promise."

She walked to the door, and put her hand on the handle. She stopped to look back at him one last time.

"I will be back tomorrow. The day after that. Every day after that. Until you come back to me."

She stepped out and closed the door softly. The weight of the world felt heavy. She would not let it break her.

She had a family to protect. She had a child to carry. She had a husband to fight for. She would do anything to bring Kieran back.
