Chapter 114
Chapter 114
Ronnie suddenly threw his head back and laughed. "Hahaha, good. But I trust you, and you need to give me a little confidence too, don't you?"
After being untied, Ophelia stood up from the ground. "What do you want me to do?"
After a moment of silence, Ronnie suddenly curved his lips in a sinister smile.
He stared straight at Ophelia. "I want you to get me Blake's seal."
The seal?
If Ophelia remembered correctly, Blake did have a seal, and that seal was used for all company contracts and documents, big and small.
If the seal were taken, it would put the entire Weston Group in danger.
Ophelia looked up, meeting Ronnie's aged eyes.
It was truly cunning.
"Well? Have you made up her mind?"
"As long as I get the seal, it's that simple?" Ophelia replied.
Ronnie's eyes lit up. "Simple? Ms. Hayes, stop joking. That seal is supposedly kept in Blake's safe, and that safe was specially designed by the world's top security experts. You shouldn't talk big."
Ophelia let out a cold laugh.
She held out both hands, which still had handcuffs on them. "Take these off, let me go now, and I'll bring back what you want."
Ronnie was silent for a moment, then suddenly raised his hand.
Ophelia thought he was going to back out, but the next moment, someone came forward and very reluctantly untied her.
Ophelia moved her hands, then backhanded a slap right across the man's face.
The man was shocked, and when he came to his senses, he was about to hit back.
But he stopped himself mid-air.
His face turned red from holding back.
Until Ronnie spoke, "Daryl Fields, come back."
Ophelia silently repeated the name in her mind, remembering it.
"You just wait." With that, she threw the handcuffs at Daryl and turned to leave.
Ronnie watched her retreating figure. "Ms. Hayes, I hope you keep your word."
Ophelia walked to the door, and just as she was about to open it, she suddenly heard a huge explosion from outside.
She instinctively stepped back a few paces.
Turning around, she saw Ronnie and the others looking shocked.
"What's going on?" Ronnie's face darkened as he looked at the surveillance monitor nearby.
"Someone blew up the entrance."
Ophelia sneered. "Didn't you say no one could find this place?"
Ronnie didn't respond to her, but quickly sent Daryl out to check.
As Daryl passed Ophelia, he grabbed her by the back of the neck, but Ophelia dodged with a quick move.
However, someone else was already standing behind Ophelia, holding her firmly in place. "Ms. Hayes, please cooperate."
Ophelia struggled a couple of times, and finding it useless, she snorted coldly. "So this is your idea of cooperation."
Ronnie just smiled and said nothing more.
Daryl took Ophelia with him to the corridor outside.
As soon as Daryl stepped out, a red dot targeted his temple.
Ophelia noticed Daryl's body trembling.
The next moment, he pulled her in front of him. "Bitch, you're going to be my shield."
Ophelia silently looked at her hands being controlled by Daryl.
Then she looked up into the distance.
She had a feeling that whoever was holding the gun wouldn't hurt her.
The next second, it was just as she thought.
"Let go of Ms. Hayes, and I might let you live."
That voice—it was Lucas!
After Ophelia realized this, her anxious heart suddenly calmed down.
"Who are you people!" Daryl was still struggling, but when Lucas mentioned Blake's name, his legs went completely weak.
"Oh no, it's Blake."
Ophelia spoke, "Since you know, why don't you let me go quickly? Maybe you can still save your life."
Daryl was struggling, frustrated, and confused. "Shut up, bitch."
At that moment, Ronnie's voice came from inside the door behind them.
"Daryl, don't worry. The fact that Blake came himself means he really cares about the woman in your hands. With this woman, he can't do anything to you."
Daryl suddenly calmed down.
Right, as long as he had this bitch Ophelia in his hands, he definitely wouldn't die!
"Come here!" Daryl grabbed Ophelia by the throat and slowly pushed her forward.
Ophelia's eyes turned cold. Just as Daryl was about to reach the end of the corridor, she caught a dagger thrown from around the corner and in the blink of an eye, slashed Daryl's throat.
Daryl's eyes widened in disbelief as he slowly fell to the ground.
Even as he died, he couldn't understand why Ophelia was so skilled.
Lucas walked out with a complicated look in his eyes, gazing at Ophelia with admiration. "Ms. Hayes, you're amazing."
Ophelia wiped the blood off the dagger and tossed it to Lucas. "I'll leave the rest to you. Be careful, Ronnie is still inside."
"Don't worry, Ms. Hayes."
Ophelia walked forward along the corridor.
Suddenly, a large hand grabbed her and pulled her into the darkness.
Ophelia struggled desperately. In the pitch black, a head pressed against her forehead.
A low voice said to her. "Don't be afraid, it's me."
Ophelia's movements suddenly stopped. At this moment, everything seemed especially quiet.
Smelling the familiar scent, Ophelia relaxed.
She let all the tension leave her body and called out softly. "Blake, you finally came."
In the darkness, Blake curved his lips. "I won't let anything happen to you."
With that, Blake pressed his lips to hers, giving her a kiss that almost made her suffocate.
After a long while, Blake asked, "Are you tired?"
Ophelia was breathing slightly heavily. She nodded and was picked up by Blake, who carried her through the corridor.
Only then did Ophelia notice that the fighting around them had stopped at some point.
There was no sound here except for Blake's footsteps.
"Lucas won't get hurt, will he?" Ophelia asked.
"Ronnie won't give in so easily. He's very cunning and probably has a backup plan. As for the others, they're easy for Lucas."
Ophelia's heart suddenly tensed up. "He wants your seal."
Blake was silent for a moment, then suddenly laughed. "You're just telling me about your conversation like that?"
Ophelia was annoyed. At a time like this, he was still making jokes.
Then she realized something was very wrong.
Blake seemed to know what they had said.
"Did you..."
Blake freed one hand and touched Ophelia's earlobe.
The rough sensation sent an electric current through Ophelia's entire body.
But because of this, she suddenly understood.
On her earlobe was the earring Blake had given her a few days ago.
"Did you know someone was going to come after me when you gave me the earrings?"
Blake shrugged. "Not really. I just thought it was better to be prepared. I didn't expect it would actually come in handy."
His words left Ophelia with mixed feelings.
Noticing this, Blake pulled them closer together.
His husky voice was somewhat helpless. "I'm just too afraid of losing you."
