Chapter 115

Chapter 115

Lucas returned to Pine Ridge Estate with several fresh wounds on his face.

The blood had already dried.

"Mr. Weston, we've caught everyone, butRonnie got away..."

Lucas was quite frustrated. "Mr. Weston, give me a little more time, and I'll definitely bring Ronnie to you."

Blake wiped his dripping hair with a towel, his open robe revealing his well-built chest. "No need. I have something more important for you to do."

Blake lit a cigarette and put it to his lips, a fierce look flashing in his eyes. "That old bastard Ronnie wants my seal. Go find out what they're planning lately. If necessary, give them the seal; it doesn't matter."

Lucas bowed his head slightly and acknowledged the order.

Blake's seal was no longer as valuable as before.

Several months ago, Blake had already anticipated that if the entire Weston Group relied on just one seal, it would be very risky.

So he had replaced the seal with something more secure early on.

Now, any document that wanted to pass review had to go through many procedures.

Of course, people outside the company couldn't possibly know about these procedures.

Lucas left Pine Ridge Estate with Blake's replacement seal.

After finishing his cigarette, Blake went upstairs, pushed open the door, and saw Ophelia lying on the bed.

She looked somewhat restless.

Blake walked over and sat on the edge of the bed.

He reached out to touch her face, but stopped when he got close.

Ophelia seemed to sense someone approaching. She opened her sleepy eyes and looked at Blake in confusion.

Then she nuzzled Blake's palm with her face. "You're here."

Her kitten-like voice made Blake's heart soften.

He smiled. "Such a light sleeper? You woke up as soon as I got close?"

Ophelia propped herself up on the bed. After being taken away by Ronnie, her nerves had been on high alert.

Even now that she was back, she still couldn't completely relax.

"I've already slept enough. What about Ronnie? What's his background? Why does he keep going against you?"

Blake seemed unconcerned and pulled Ophelia up from the bed. "We'll go out to eat later. You've gotten thinner recently."

Ophelia realized Blake was changing the subject and frowned, pushing his hand away. "I need to understand the whole situation. This isn't the first or second time I've been taken away, Blake. You need to give me a way to deal with this."

Blake was silent for a moment, then suddenly sighed.

He took Ophelia to the study.

He opened a photo album that was full of pictures of the Westons and Rebecca.

In one of the photos in the middle, Ophelia saw a very familiar person.

Ophelia's eyes widened. "This person..."

"That's right, this is Ronnie."

Blake pushed the album toward her. "Many years ago, Ronnie was a shareholder in my mother's family business. Later, he betrayed my mother and was kicked out of the company. Since then, he's held a grudge against the Weston family and my mother."

Ophelia was so surprised she could barely speak. "But isn't Ronnie..."

"Yes, he has another identity; he's Victoria's father. The relationships here are complicated. To protect your safety, I never told you before. Now, it seems telling you is best."

Ophelia was silent for a moment, then looked at the album again.

She accidentally noticed that in this photo, besides Ronnie, there was another person.

This person had very deep-set features, wore a suit, and seemed upright, but there was something sinister in his expression.

"This person gives me a very familiar feeling," Ophelia said.

Blake also noticed this person.

Back then, he was still young, so he didn't have much impression of this person.

Blake looked at Ophelia, whose gaze remained fixed on that photo.

If it weren't for the big age difference between them, he would even start getting jealous.

Blake turned Ophelia's face toward him. "Why are you looking at him? He was that age back then; by now, he's probably an old man."

Ophelia coughed twice, almost choking on her saliva.

What was Blake thinking about all day!

"That's not what I meant. I really do feel like this person is very familiar to me." Ophelia's voice got quieter and quieter, her brow slightly furrowed.

Meanwhile, in a dark basement, Ronnie spat out the blood in his mouth, looking viciously at his subordinate nearby, then grabbed a bottle of medicine from the table and threw it.

The subordinate didn't dare dodge, and blood appeared on his forehead where it hit.

"Mr. Miller, now's not the time to be angry. We suffered heavy losses this time. We should think about how to explain this to that person."

Ronnie narrowed his eyes. Just as he was about to speak, his phone suddenly rang.

Looking at the phone number with no name displayed, sensing it was an important call, he suddenly stood up and walked respectfully to the side. "Yes, I'm at the base now."

About five minutes later, Ronnie emerged from the dark corner, his whole demeanor changed.

He seemed drained and sighed.

He lay back in the chair, letting his subordinate treat his wounds.

The subordinate glanced at Ronnie's condition and asked tentatively, "Mr. Miller, what did the other party say?"

Ronnie suddenly opened one eye, a flash of understanding in it, looking meaningfully at the subordinate who was treating his wounds with his head down.

He snorted coldly.

He lifted the subordinate's chin with his foot. "What? You want to replace me?"

The subordinate was forced to raise his head, trembling uncontrollably. "I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare."

Ronnie kicked the subordinate away. "You'd better not dare, or I'll take your life first."

"I'm giving you three days. If you can't find Blake's seal in three days, Kirk Gutierrez, you'll end up like Daryl - dead without a complete corpse."

Kirk kept nodding and replied, "I understand, I understand."

"Go. Ophelia is at the university."

Kirk left with his head down, drove all the way to the university gate, rolled down his window, and waited.

Ophelia was walking toward the school. She hadn't been to school for a while, and some time ago, the teachers had already tactfully reminded her not to skip classes.

However, just as she was about to enter the gate, Ophelia suddenly felt like someone was watching her from somewhere.

She turned around. Everything behind her looked normal, with quite a few cars parked near the gate.

After Ophelia's gaze swept around, it stopped on one of the cars, which quickly rolled up its window.

Ophelia smiled slightly.

She didn't expect that even at this point, Ronnie still wouldn't give up.

Just as Ophelia was about to walk over, someone suddenly called out to her from behind.

"Ophelia, what are you doing?"

Ophelia was distracted for a moment, and the car in front of her disappeared.
