Chapter 20
Jason Stokes:
I've been trying Lexi's number for hours, but she wasn’t picking up.
"Fuck" I swore, and Carmella looked at me with a worried face About two hours ago, when I couldn't get in contact with her, I had sent Tanner over to Cynthia's house and he had come back with a sad news "Cynthia was no longer living there."
"I'm sure she is safe," Carmella said.
I ignored her and tried Lexi's number again. Unreachable. I closed my eyes and tried to subdue the fear that was gnawing at me. What if she left me again, I was thinking, or what if someone attacked her?
I dialed Casper number again and he picked up on the first ring "Is she back?" I asked "No" Casper replied "I'm also trying her number here, not reachable"
"Lexi is in trouble" I said slowly and quietly "I'm sure she is not" Casper said back "She is" I replied him "Come back home now, I need to find my wife"
"Jason..." Casper was saying but I cut him off "My wife is my life"
"Okay" he said "I'm coming home now"
Lexi Stokes:
I woke up, I was lying down on a bed. I looked around where I was, but I could see nothing due to how dark the room was "Poor Lexi" someone said in another room. I slowly got out of the bed and started walking out of the room "She is going to be okay" a cold voice said, and I spotted goosebumps due to how cold the voice was. I turned around instantly and started heading back to the bed.
"Ouch!" I cried out when I mistakenly kicked the bed and the next second, someone was in the room and switched the light on.
I looked at the man that was standing in the middle of the room and I could feel the hair at the back of my neck as it was standing at alert.
The man was extremely tall with long dreaded, blonde hair which was weird on a white guy's head. He had tattoos all over his body and half of his face was covered in piercings, but these attributes weren't the reason why I was scared of him. I was scared because of his extremely cold eyes. From my point of view, I looked like his prey.
He puffed on his smoke and gave me a sly smile. He definitely knew the effect he had on me.
"How is your neck?" He asked with his strong, cold voice.
My neck. I thought and slowly touched it. I looked at the man that was in front of me and took few steps away from him before replying "Fine"
"Lexi" I heard Cynthia voice from the next room and few seconds later, she was inside the room. "Thank goodness Lexi" she said and ran toward me. She hugged me and I slowly hugged her back while keeping an eye on the tall, scary man in the room.
"How are you feeling?" Cynthia asked, released me and looked into my eyes "I'm fine" I replied her before whispering to her "I want to go home"
"I'm sorry for everything" she apologized "It's okay. How are you doing? I just want to check on you"
"Okay. Let me introduce you to someone" she said and the man in the room looked at her "Lexi, this is Cheetah" she said while blushing at the tall man "And Cheetah, meet my best friend Lexi"
This is Austin. I thought horrifically. Are fully tattooed, pierced men with cold eyes Cynthia's latest kink now?
"Lexi" Cynthia called, and I came back to reality "Oh sorry" I said to her before matching toward Austin and stretched out my tiny hand "Nice to meet you Aust—" I was saying but when I saw Austin’s and Cynthia’s reaction to my last uncompleted word, I corrected myself, "Nice to meet you Cheetah."
He took my hand, into his extremely soft hand and I raised an eyebrow because of how soft his hand was, I wasn't expecting that.
"Nice meeting you too" he said to me, released my hand and took a drag from his smoke.
"Are we now back to being best friend?" Cynthia asked me and I nodded my head.
Austin walked out of the room and I and Cynthia sat on the bed to catch up on our lives.
After chatting for some time, I asked "What is the time?"
"Around seven" Cynthia replied without checking her wristwatch "Wait! What?" Are you serious right now?"
"Yes" she replied "The time is 7:12 pm. You've been out for hours."
I got out of the bed instantly "Jason is going to be freaking out now"
"I've been thinking the same. Do you want to call him?'
"Of course."
"Okay, let me get you your phone, I charged it while you were sleeping."
"Thank you."
"It's okay," she said and patted me on my shoulder, "What are best friends for?" She got out of the bed and walked out of the room.
Few minutes later, she was back with my phone in her hand. She handed it to me, and I thanked her again I turned it on and dialed Jason's number "Lexi" Jason called worriedly and then sighed heavily "Where have you been? Where are you?"
"I'm fine. I’m with Cynthia.”
"You almost gave me a heart attack. When are you coming home? Are you on your way home?"
"No, I'm not"
"Where are you?"
"With Cynthia"
"Where exactly are you?" He asked a little bit hard "I was at Cynthia's house some hours ago, she is no longer staying there"
I knew Jason was going to freak out more if I told him where I was, so, I had no idea on how to answer his question "I'm out of the town" I replied truthfully "What!? You're out of the town, without telling me? Lexi why?" He asked frustratedly "Am I going to sleep on our bed alone without you by my side?"
"I'm sorry Jason"
"So, where are you now?" He asked again and I had no other choice but to tell him where I was. I told him where I was, and he shouted into the phone "What!? Don't move, I'm coming for you"
"I'm in no danger Jason"
"I don't care" he replied and hung up the phone I put down my phone and looked at Cynthia who was smiling at me "Jason is too cute" she said I smiled at her word before saying "I'm hungry"
