Chapter 19

Casper Hart:

I drove Jason's wife to the office in total silence and tried to act as the carefree Jason when we got to the office, but it felt weird since we were still practically strangers to each other.

"Call me if you need anything" she said to me

"Okay" I replied and went inside Jason's office.

I sat on the expensive leather chair that was going to be mine for the whole day and looked around the room. It looked nothing like what Daniella and Lexi Ryan said about it.

Jason told me that there was no way that he could trust Daniella Huggins with his company, so, during the weekend, Daniella's job as Jason's assistant was terminated.

Lexi Stokes:

I went out of my office the moment that I dropped my bag and headed to the marketing department where Cynthia worked but her seat was empty, and she was nowhere to be found.

I asked around if anybody had seen her, but they all said that the last time they saw her was on Wednesday.

Cynthia is gone. I thought and rushed back to my office. I ran to the drawer where her letters were, opened it and picked up the letters.

The first one that I picked was her resignation letter. I put it on the table and picked the second letter, the one she wrote to me.

I tore the envelope hurriedly and brought out the letter Dear Lexi, How are you? I hope you are doing great. The last time that I asked you such a question was like a thousand years ago. That is what it feels like. Even though you consider me your enemy, I still consider you my best friend because you're my best friend and you will always be my best friend.

How are Jason and Maxwell? I hope they are doing great too.

The main reason why I'm writing this letter to you is to let you know about my future plans. I will soon be leaving Stokes Enterprises. My leaving has nothing to do with what is happening between us right now but about what is happening in my life personally.

About two months ago, I met a man, and he was the one that I was talking about at the club. He is the president of the Dean Mc. I know you don't know him, and you might not want to know him, but I think I should tell you about him. His real name is Austin, but he goes by his club name, Cheetah. We met on the road when I mistakenly hit his bike and that was how everything started.

Cheetah is a very cool man on the inside but on the outside, he looks like a crazy man. After thinking about our differences for a long time, I've decided to accept him the way he is and become his old lady.

I love him and I want to spend the rest of my life with him. I will be moving into his club in few weeks. I'm expecting your reply about my decision but if none comes, that means that you've truly forgotten about me and about our friendship.

From Cynthia Your best friend I read the letter once more with tears in my eyes before dropping it on my table, I really failed my friend when she needed me most in her life. I picked up my phone and tried her number again, but it was still not reachable.

I googled searched where the Dean Mc headquarter was and decided to pay her a visit.

I walked inside Jason's office, but Casper was on the phone. So, I decided to come back.

"Wait" he said, and I stopped on my track "You need something?" He asked as he put the call on hold "Yes" I replied "The car key. I need to go somewhere now if you don't mind"

"Okay" he replied "I can take a taxi home" he said and took out the key "You don't have to do that. I will let Jason know; he will send you another car"

He nodded his head and said okay. I took the car key from him and walked out of the office. I picked up my bag and headed out of the company. Before I started the car, I called Jason with the last percent on my phone "You're already missing me" Jason joked and I rolled my eyes "Stop feeling too important right now"

"I've always been important" he said pompously but in a babyish manner I smiled at him and said "I might not be missing you right now because I'm going somewhere"

"Where are you going to?"

"I need to talk to Cynthia" I replied "Okay. So, Casper needs another car?"

"Exactly"

"Okay" he said "I will soon be back, I love you"

"I love you too"

I hung up the phone and started the car. Dean MC was five hours away Five hours later…

I parked my car five minutes away and trekked to the club. The club was well fenced and the security cameras that were surrounding the fence were more than the ones at two banks combined.

A slim, tall boy sat in front of the club’s giant gate and he wasn't aware of my presence because he was busy with a joint.

"Hey" I said to him and he nodded his head in response without looking at me. That was when I realized that he knew about me being there, he just didn't care "I'm looking for someone"

He looked at my eyes and then scanned me from my head to my toes before speaking.

"Wrong address"

"Hear me out first"

"I don't listen to pussies. I only fuck them "

I ignored his arrogant statements and said "her name is Cynthia"

He puffed on his joint and blew the smoke into my face. "Wrong address pussy"

"I'm sure she is here. Her name is Cynthia, she is Austin's girlfr—"

I couldn't finish the last word because something was squeezing my throat.

"How dare you call him by his name" the slim boy screamed at me, spitting saliva in the process.

I looked around me and wondered what just happened to me. My back was to the wall and the boy's hand was squeezing my neck.

I started coughing but he wasn't releasing his hand from my neck.
