Chapter 758

Chapter 758

Originally, Daryl had been thinking about setting Margaret up with Patrick, but seeing Liberty so downcast at that moment, his heart ached for her.

Daryl hesitated for a while before finally saying, "Liberty, if you want your mom and dad to get back together, you're gonna have to put in some effort."

Liberty blinked, surprised.

"But Mom's so stubborn. How's she ever gonna listen to me?"

Daryl thought for a moment and said, "Your mom might be stubborn, but she loves you a lot. Seeing you so sad just now really got to me. If she saw you like that, she'd be heartbroken too."

Liberty's big eyes blinked, unsure of what to say. She thought for a bit and finally got what Daryl was hinting at.

"Daryl, are you saying if I act heartbroken in front of Mom, she'll agree to be with Dad?"

Daryl nodded.

"If you want your parents back together, this might be the way to go."

Liberty wanted to respect Margaret's wishes, but ever since leaving Crystaland, she realized that what she wanted most was for her parents to be together.

If Margaret really didn't want to, she would reject Raymond again. But they couldn't just give up because Raymond was turned down once.

"Daryl, do you think this plan will work?"

"Absolutely. When I walked in earlier and saw you looking so sad, it really hurt. Your mom will feel even worse. Just act like you can't eat or drink. She'll align in no time."

Though Daryl didn't want Margaret to repeat past mistakes, he was looking at the bigger picture. He knew Raymond was someone who could be trusted for life.

Raymond had sent Margaret away to protect her, weighing the pros and cons. Daryl knew Margaret had had a tough time over the years and didn't want her efforts to go to waste. But he could also see that Margaret still had feelings for Raymond.

Since Liberty loved Raymond so much, it was better to bring the family together.

Daryl hadn't done much, just given Liberty some advice, but he hoped that with Liberty's effort and smarts, she could bring Raymond and Margaret together.

"Daryl, I'll give it a shot."

After Daryl gave Liberty the idea, she started pretending she couldn't eat or drink in front of Margaret, sighing and sometimes even crying.

Whenever Margaret asked what was wrong, Liberty would just shake her head and say nothing.

Even though Liberty didn't say anything, Margaret understood. She knew Liberty must be missing Raymond.

During this time, Raymond was also feeling down in Crystaland. He had planned to follow Margaret to Rainbowland the next day, but then he received a message from Liberty.

Liberty explained the situation and told Raymond she had been acting in front of Margaret. She advised him to wait for the right moment.

One morning, Margaret got up early to make breakfast. She planned to take Liberty out to cheer her up.

"Liberty, wake up. After breakfast, I'll take you out to have some fun."

Liberty looked listless. She hadn't been eating well for days to play her part, and it showed—she looked noticeably thinner.

She came to the table, glanced at the food, and pretended to have no appetite.

"Mom, I'm not really hungry. Let's just go out."

In the past, Liberty would be thrilled at the mention of going out, but now she seemed to be just going along with Margaret.

Margaret felt a pang of sadness and decided to take Liberty to the amusement park. While they were there, a person in a mascot costume surrounded by people caught their attention.

The person was holding a bunch of balloons, which accidentally floated away. The person looked visibly upset.

Margaret took out some cash and handed it to Liberty.

"Liberty, go give this to that person. Tell them not to be sad about the balloons flying away because they're gone for good."

Liberty was taken aback. She recognized the person in the costume was Raymond.

Before she could take the cash, the person approached them.

"Ms. Neville, who says balloons that fly away can't come back?"

As he spoke, he took a remote control from his pocket and pressed a red button. Margaret watched in amazement as the balloons that had flown away began to return.

Margaret was stunned by this display.

The person removed the mascot head, revealing Raymond's familiar face.

"You have to believe in miracles. If balloons can come back, I believe you can come back to me too."

Even though Margaret had resolved not to be with Raymond again, his sudden appearance, combined with Liberty's longing for him, had already shaken her resolve.

Seeing Raymond now, Margaret couldn't hold back her tears.

Liberty came to Margaret's side.

"Mom, I'm sorry. I knew Dad was coming, but I didn't tell you. I know you have unresolved feelings, but I really hope you have the courage to take a step forward."

Raymond stepped forward and hugged Margaret.

"Don't worry. None of the things you went through before will happen again. I swear on my life, I'll protect you and Liberty and make you both happy."

Margaret's tears kept falling. Seeing Liberty so sad had been hard for her.

Since leaving Crystaland, she had been tormented, unsure if leaving was the right choice.

Seeing Raymond now, the weight on her chest lifted.

She didn't know when it started, but seeing Raymond always made her feel at peace.

"Raymond, you have to swear. If you go back to your old ways, I won't forgive you."

Raymond smiled.

"I swear, I'll stay by your side from now on."

Hearing this, Liberty smiled secretly and asked a passerby for help.

"Excuse me, could you take a picture of our family?"

The passerby nodded, charmed by Liberty's cuteness, and quickly agreed.

"Sure, gather together and smile."

She pressed the button, capturing the family's sweet moment forever.
