A Difficult Conversation

Mitchel and Ivy continued their discussion and soon it was was 8am, and Mitchel left for her office.

Mitchel walked into the company's building with confidence, she was happy that she now knows what she wants and can have her life back as she has always wanted. She will not be able to take care of her son as she always wanted as he is one of the important persons in her life right now and can't afford to loose a relationship with him.

She decided to tell Nate about her decision so she can drop her resignation letter as she has already received her salary whille she was in the coffee shop with Ivy.

Mitchel walked into Nate's office and took a deep breath and tried to compose herself.

Nate looked her Mitchel with curiosity wondering what she was doing in his office when he didn't sent for her.

“What's up Mitchel, is there a problem?” Nate asked.

Mitchel took a deep breath before giving Nate a response.

“Can I sit?”, Mitchel asked as she pointed the chair opposite Nate.

“Yes you can, what's the problem?”, Nate asked as he focused his full attention on Mitchel.

“I want to talk to you about my job”, Mitchel said as she tried not to look nervous.

“What about your job, is anyone giving you trouble?”, Nate asked.

Mitchel took a deep breath before answering,

“I have been thinking about my job for a whille now and I have decided that I want to resign.”, Mitchel said as she looked at the floor trying hard to avoid eye contact with Nate.

“Why?”, Nate asked as his facial expression changed from curiosity to being shock.

“I think I need some space to reshape my life. I don't like the way I'm leaving. I hardly have time for myself and time to do some personal activities “. Mitchel explained.

Nate couldn't believe what Mitchel just said, he was thinking that one day she would remember the love they shared and they could start up something but now she wants to leave.

“Mitchel, I don't think you are making the right decision, yes I know that this your job is stressing you but you shouldn't resign cause of the stress. I promise to give you a 1 month break when we are done with the project at hand “, Nate said.

“Nate, I'm sorry but I have made up my mind, I want to resign”, Mitchel said as she felt a sense of frustration.

Nate wasn't happy with Mitchel's decision to leave. He still had feelings for her and wished they could become an item like they were before. He was disappointed that she would even thinking of quitting.

“It's fine, if that's what you want”, Nate said as she looked back into his computer.

Nate's Pride won't let him beg her even though he really wanted her. He planned on breaking up with his girlfriend and then starting a relationship as they have started get alone as they are working on the project. Now all his plans has failed.

Mitchel felt a little bit relief after telling Nate about her decision. She expected him to be upset but didn't expect him to be hostile about it. She was shocked that he didn't even try to beg her or ask forwarder about her decision.

“Thank you Nate, I will be leaving in two weeks time.” Mitchel said as she stood up to leave his office.

She couldn't believe that she will talk the day she did, Mitchel has always been a calm person that sometimes she lets people climb over her but she was happy she was about to say er mind.

But as Mitchel was about to open Nate's door to leave his office, Nate called her,

“I can't let you leave without a fight. We will have to talk about it, I mean you are one of my best staff and I and the company as a whole cannot afford to loose you”. Nate said as he looked straight into her eyes.

Mitchel felt a spine run down her back, she couldn't say a word, she just l

ooked a way, opened the door and left the office.
