Chapter 302 Don't Want to See Him Again
Chapter 302 Don't Want to See Him Again
Daniel's eyes were dark with gloom, but he didn't step aside.
"Can't you even wait one more day?"
Scarlett had no energy at all—she was forcing herself to get up. She didn't have the strength to argue with Daniel.
Sarah supported her, feeling like Scarlett was as light as a fallen leaf, with no strength left in her body.
Scarlett wasn't like this before. Though slender, she used to be in great health.
She could dance for hours without breaking a sweat, but now...
Sarah's heart ached for her. She snapped angrily, "Do you even need to ask? Being married to someone like you is like having a bloody guillotine hanging over your head—who knows when it'll drop and cut her again. Every single minute is torture! Stop hesitating and let her go!"
However, Daniel acted as if he hadn't heard Sarah's words at all, treating her like she was invisible.
He bent down and forcibly picked Scarlett up, striding toward the hospital room.
"What are you doing? Daniel, if you have any conscience left, let her go!"
"Ray!"
Sarah shouted angrily, trying to stop him. Daniel spoke with a cold expression.
Ray stepped in quickly and escorted Sarah out of the room, then closed the door.
Sarah was so anxious she could explode. She struggled with Ray at the hospital room door.
Ray said sternly, "Ms. Johnson, the child is gone. Mr. Daniel Wilson is also grieving. Right now, the priority is to help Mrs. Scarlett Wilson recover. If Mrs. Scarlett Wilson doesn't rest well and her health breaks down, I'm sure you don't want to see that either. If you really care about Mrs. Scarlett Wilson, stop causing trouble."
Sarah thought about how Scarlett had broken into a cold sweat just from changing clothes earlier. She bit her lip in frustration and sat down outside the room with her arms crossed.
Inside the room.
Scarlett was placed back on the bed. Daniel bent down to take off her shoes, then got a towel to wipe the cold sweat from her forehead.
"Daniel, do you have to make me hate you even more?" Scarlett's voice was weak, her heart powerless.
Daniel's movements didn't pause, and his expression didn't change, as if he was already used to her cold words.
He wiped her face, then firmly supported the back of her head, making her tilt it back.
Scarlett rejected his touch and struggled. Daniel spoke coldly.
"At this point, I really don't mind if you hate me more! Hate is better than nothing—better than no love, no hate, no feelings at all."
As he spoke, he lifted her from the bed, making her lean against his arm.
"So Scarlett, don't fight me. I don't mind getting rough with you!"
Scarlett gasped, staring at Daniel, her eyes gradually turning bloodshot.
Daniel stroked her reddened eyes, his voice softening, "Take care of your health first. Otherwise, you won't be able to do anything—even your hatred seems so pitiful and powerless!"
Scarlett didn't want to look at him and closed her eyes.
But Daniel took the towel, lifted her chin, and wiped the cold sweat from her neck clean, then tidied her messy hair and tucked it behind her ears.
Only then did he place her back on the bed and pulled the covers over her.
Looking at Scarlett, who said nothing and seemed unwilling to even glance at him, Daniel's eyes darkened.
He put the towel back and said, "I'll have someone bring food in. You need to eat something."
"I won't eat! Stop wasting your effort." Scarlett turned over, filled with hatred.
Even at this point, he was still forcing her, refusing to let her go, imprisoning her.
In her eyes and heart, he was no longer her protector, her light, her warmth.
He had become a demon, a cage, the source of all her pain!
Daniel looked at her curled-up, frail body, his fingers clenching tightly.
"If you eat obediently, I'll make a call to arrange the divorce. Miss today, and don't blame me for being heartless and not letting you go."
Scarlett froze, opened her eyes, and looked at Daniel.
"What do you mean?"
"Divorce papers don't have to be filed at court. If you want to divorce me, get up and eat properly!"
Daniel spoke sternly, his face expressionless.
He stood by the bed, looking down at her, mocking himself inside.
He had never thought that one day, he'd have to use divorce as leverage just to get her to eat something.
Scarlett stared at Daniel, confronting him.
This was the first time today she'd looked at him directly, without looking away.
Daniel's breathing caught, his spine stiffening, unexpectedly tense.
But he couldn't detect any emotion in Scarlett's eyes.
Her former attachment, joy, disgust—even the resentment he'd just provoked—seemed to have vanished.
His heart felt terribly empty. His lips moved, "I didn't mean to force you, but if you keep torturing yourself like this, your body won't hold up."
From the time of the incident until now, she hadn't eaten anything, surviving only on IV nutrition.
This couldn't continue.
Scarlett's lips curved mockingly, "Your devotion is truly laughable."
He'd obviously changed clothes—a dark gray shirt with a checkered tie. The stubble on his chin had been shaved, his jawline sharp and defined.
He smelled of fresh mint body wash. Except for the bloodshot eyes, he still looked like the cold, noble Daniel.
Losing Bunny seemed to have passed so lightly for him.
That's why he thought she could eat now.
He presumed this was good for her, all just to ease his own guilt.
He was terrifyingly cold-hearted!
"Think what you want. If you want a divorce, get up and eat." Daniel's voice was calm but firm.
Scarlett finally sat up with effort. Daniel leaned forward to help her, then called for someone.
Soon a servant came in and placed nutritious meals in front of Scarlett.
Scarlett was depleted of vital energy and blood. Daniel had consulted nutritionists and doctors overnight to create a meal plan—not quite medicinal food, but close.
Scarlett picked up a spoon, her wrist weak, with no appetite at all.
A large hand took the soup bowl from her front, and the next second, the soup was brought to her lips.
"You don't have the strength. I'll feed you."
Scarlett raised her eyes, "Looking at you makes me want to throw up."
Daniel's handsome face darkened instantly, and the spoon knocked heavily against the bowl's edge.
His jaw tightened as he locked eyes with her.
His eyes churned red; hers were like stagnant water.
After a moment, Daniel stood up from the bedside and ordered the servant coldly.
"You take care of feeding her!"
The servant jumped in fright and nervously stepped forward, taking the bowl from Daniel's hands.
Scarlett didn't want to make things difficult for the servant, and she wanted the divorce as soon as possible.
Even though she had no appetite, she cooperated and ate.
The servant cleared away the remaining food, and Scarlett looked toward Daniel, who was standing by the window.
"Satisfied now?"
She asked, her attitude like a negotiation.
Daniel's lips pressed into a thin line. Understanding her meaning, he took out his phone and made a call.
In Shadow City, Daniel indeed had special privileges.
The court staff arrived quickly. In less than ten minutes, Scarlett, without even getting out of bed, had taken divorce photos and completed the divorce papers right there in the hospital room.
Getting the divorce papers was so simple, making all those times she'd struggled to go to court seem so ridiculous.
Scarlett held the divorce papers, her smile both mocking and desolate.
When she looked up, Daniel had just seen off the staff and was coming back in.
Scarlett clutched the divorce papers, "The child is gone, the marriage is over. What else do you have to control me with? If there's nothing, please leave. I don't want to see you anymore."
