Chapter 55
Chapter 55
"Marco, what do you want?" I asked, my patience wearing thin.
"Ah, Lilith," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Always so eager to get rid of me."
I rolled my eyes. "Just get on with it, Marco. What do you want?"
He eyed me up and down, his gaze lingering on my body in a way that made my skin crawl. "I want something really urgent," he said finally.
Marco's eyes seemed to bore into my soul as he spoke. "Lilith, I need a lot of money. Urgently."
My mind raced as I tried to process what he was saying. "How much?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Marco's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with greed. "Oh, I think you know exactly how much. Let's just say...it's a lot."
I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized what he was getting at. "How much?" I repeated, my voice firmer this time.
Marco leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. "I need $100,000. And I need it now."
My heart raced as I tried to process the amount. $100,000 was a staggering amount of money. I didn't know if I had that kind of cash lying around.
"Marco, I don't know if I can get that kind of money," I stammered.
Marco's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with menace. "Oh, I think you'll find a way. You have 24 hours. After that...let's just say I'll have to take matters into my own hands."
"Marco, stop threatening me," I said, my voice firm. "I'm not afraid of you."
Marco's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, Lilith. You should be. You really should be."
I felt a surge of anger at his words, but I tried to keep my cool. "Just tell me what you want, Marco. Be serious for once."
"I want the money, Lilith. And I want it now," he said, his voice firm.
"Marco! Are you for real? Let's be realistic, where do you expect me to get that kind of money from? I don't have that kind of money lying around," I protested.
Marco's expression turned cold, his eyes narrowing. "Get it, Lilith. Get it for me. Now."
I felt a chill run down my spine at his words. Something in his tone told me that he wasn't messing around. "Marco, I can't just get that kind of money. It's not possible," I said, trying to reason with him.
Marco's face twisted in anger. "You'll find a way, Lilith. You'll find a way. Or else."
"Or else what?" I yelled, my anger boiling over.
Marco's expression turned cold, his eyes flashing with anger. He grabbed my wrist, his grip like a vice. "Or else I'll make sure Xavier finds out about your little secret," he hissed.
I tried to pull my wrist out of his grasp, but his grip was too tight. I struggled against him, but he held me fast.
"Let me go, Marco!" I demanded, trying to keep my voice down.
But Marco just laughed, his eyes glinting with triumph. "You're not going anywhere, Lilith. Not until you get me that money."
I tried to wriggle free, but Marco's grip was like a vice. I was trapped. Panic set in as I realized I was at his mercy.
"Marco, please," I begged, trying to reason with him. "Let me go. I'll get you the money, I promise."
But Marco just laughed again, his grip tightening. "You'll get it for me, Lilith. From Xavier or another."
Just as Marco's grip was starting to feel like it was going to bruise, I heard Xavier's voice calling me from the other room.
"Babe? Honey, is everything okay?"
Marco's eyes flicked towards the door, and for a moment, his grip relaxed. I took advantage of the distraction to wrestle my wrist free.
"Go get his money, Lilith," Marco hissed, his eyes flashing with anger. "Now."
I didn't need to be told twice. I turned and ran out of the room, leaving Marco behind. I could feel his eyes on me, boring into my back, but I didn't look back.
As I entered our room where Xavier was waiting, I could feel my heart still racing from the encounter with Marco. But Xavier's concerned expression immediately made me feel safer.
"Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, noticing my flushed face.
I hesitated, unsure of how much of a lie I needed to put out.
As we reached the top of the stairs, Xavier grabbed my arm, his eyes scanning my face. "Babe, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice low and urgent.
I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But Xavier's gentle touch and concerned expression put me at ease.
"It's just...nothing babe," I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper.
Xavier's eyes narrowed, his grip on my arm tightening. "What did he do?" he growled.
I hesitated, feeling a surge of fear at the memory of Marco's grip on my wrist. Xavier's eyes followed mine, and his gaze landed on the bruises on my wrist.
His expression darkened, his eyes flashing with anger. "Who did this to you?" he thundered, his voice echoing through the hallway.
I stammered, unable to form words. Xavier's eyes blazed with fury, his face twisted in rage.
"Who dared to touch you?" he yelled, his fist clenched and raised.
He punched the wall, the sound echoing through the hallway. I flinched, startled by the sudden outburst.
"Xavier, please," I begged, my voice shaking. "It's okay. I'm fine."
But Xavier was beyond consolation. He paced back and forth, his anger radiating like a palpable force.
"No one touches you, babe." he growled, his eyes blazing with possessiveness. "No one hurts you. I won't let them."
I felt a surge of emotion at his words, my heart swelling with gratitude. Xavier's anger was a shield, a protective barrier around me.
"Xavier, stop," I pleaded, my voice barely above a whisper. "You're scaring me."
He stopped pacing, his chest heaving with exertion. His eyes locked onto mine, his gaze burning with intensity.
"I'm sorry, babe," he whispered, his voice raw with emotion. "I just can't bear the thought of anyone hurting you. I can't bear the thought of anyone staring at you not alone touching you."
I gently led Xavier to a nearby chair and eased him into it. His eyes never left mine, still blazing with anger and concern. I could feel his tension, his rage, and his helplessness.
"Xavier, let me take care of you," I whispered, my voice soft and soothing.
I gently took his hand, examining the damage. His knuckles were red and swollen, and there were faint scratches on his skin from hitting the wall. I winced in sympathy, feeling his pain.
"Ah, Xavier," I murmured, my heart aching for him. "You shouldn't have done that."
I fetched a nearby first-aid kit and began to tend to his wounds. Xavier watched me, his eyes still intense, but his expression softening as I cared for him.
As I cleaned and bandaged his hand, Xavier's gaze never left mine. I could feel his eyes on me, burning with emotion. I knew he was still angry, still hurt, but he was also grateful for my care.
"Thank you, my love," he whispered, his voice rough with emotion.
I smiled softly, my heart full of love for him. "You don't have to thank me, Xavier. I'm just taking care of you."
As I finished bandaging his hand, Xavier's eyes locked onto mine, his gaze burning with intensity.
"Babe," he whispered, his voice low and urgent. "I can't lose you. I can't bear the thought of anyone hurting you. Just tell me who did this."
My heart swelled with emotion, and I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes.
"Xavier," I whispered back, my voice barely audible. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm safe with you."
Xavier's eyes searched mine, his gaze burning with emotion. Then, slowly, he nodded, his expression softening.
"Okay, babe" he whispered. "I protect you. I promise."
I took a deep breath and asked Xavier for the money. "Xavier, I need to ask you for something. I need $100,000."
Xavier's expression didn't change, but he nodded calmly. "Of course, babe. I'll wire the money to you right now."
I was taken aback by his response. I had expected him to hesitate or ask questions, but he simply nodded and pulled out his phone.
"Xavier, are you sure?" I asked, my voice filled with doubt.
"Yes, babe. I'm positive. You can have the money."
My phone beeped and it was a credit alert from my bank, and I took it in shock. The amount was correct - $100,000.
"Xavier, I don't know what to say. I can't believe you're just giving me this money."
Xavier smiled and put his arm around me. "Babe, I told you. I'll do anything for you. You're important to me."
I felt a surge of emotions - shock, gratitude, love. I didn't know what to say or do, so I just hugged him tightly.
"Thank you, Xavier. Thank you so much."
Xavier held me close and stroked my hair. "You're welcome, my love. Anything for you."
"Thank you, Xavier," I said, my voice still filled with shock and gratitude. "I don't know what to say. I wasn't expecting you to just give me the money like that."
Xavier smiled and hugged me tightly. "Lilith, I told you. I'll do anything for you. You're important to me."
I felt a lump form in my throat as I hugged him back. "Thank you," I repeated, my voice muffled against his chest. "This means so much to me."
As we pulled back, I looked up at him with tears in my eyes. "I'm just so grateful, Xavier. I don't know what I would do without you."
Xavier's expression softened, and he brushed a strand of hair behind my ear. "You'll never have to find out, babe. I'll always be here for you."
I felt a wave of emotion wash over me, and I knew in that moment that I was falling deeply in love with Xavier. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support had captured my heart in a way that I never thought possible.
"Thank you," I whispered again, my voice barely audible.
Xavier smiled and leaned in close. "Anything for you, Lilith," he whispered back. "Anything."
Xavier smiled mischievously. "Hey, babe? There's a new movie I've been wanting to see. Want to watch it with me?"
I nodded enthusiastically, still feeling grateful for his kindness. "That sounds perfect. I love movie nights!"
Xavier grinned and pulled me into his arms. "Me too. Let's get cozy!"
We snuggled up on the couch, Xavier's arm wrapped around me and my head on his shoulder. As the movie started, I felt my eyes getting heavy, the warmth and comfort of Xavier's embrace lulling me into a state of relaxation.
As we watched the movie, Xavier occasionally whispered funny comments or pointed out exciting scenes, making me giggle or gasp in surprise. His presence made the experience even more enjoyable, and I found myself feeling happy and content in his company.
At one point, Xavier leaned in and gently kissed my forehead, his lips soft and gentle. I smiled up at him, feeling my heart flutter.
As the credits rolled, Xavier pulled me closer, his hold on me tightening. "Thanks for watching with me, babe. I had a great time."
I smiled, feeling my heart full of joy. "Me too, Xavier. I love spending time with you."
Xavier's eyes sparkled with warmth, and he leaned in to kiss me softly on the lips. "I love spending time with you too, Lilith. You make every moment special."
I smiled, feeling my heart full of joy and contentment. Xavier's eyes locked onto mine, and he gazed at me with a warm, tender expression.
"Your smile is radiant, babe," he whispered, his voice filled with sincerity. "It lights up the entire room and brightens my day."
I felt my cheeks flush with pleasure, and my smile grew wider. Xavier's words were like a gentle caress, making my heart skip a beat.
"You make me feel so happy, Xavier," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.
Xavier's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled back at me. "You deserve all the happiness in the world, babe. You're an amazing person, and I'm so grateful to have you in my life."
As we gazed into each other's eyes, the air around us seemed to vibrate with romance. The soft lighting, the cozy atmosphere, and Xavier's sweet words all combined to create a magical moment that I would treasure forever.
Xavier leaned in closer, his face inches from mine. "I love seeing you smile, my love. It's my favorite thing in the world."
My heart skipped a beat as he whispered those words. I could feel his warm breath on my skin, sending shivers down my spine.
"I love making you happy, Xavier," I replied, my voice barely audible.
Xavier's lips brushed against mine in a soft, gentle kiss. "You do, Lilith. You make me happier than I've ever been."
As we kissed, the world around us melted away, leaving only the two of us, lost in our own little bubble of love and happiness.
