Chapter 258 Face is Not as Important as Money
"Even you can't find anything? Looks like they were well prepared." Benjamin fell into thought, reached out to take the thermal lunch box, and waved his hand at him.
"Keep watching. Report immediately if they make any moves."
"Yes."
Eldon nodded and turned to leave.
Benjamin set the food on the empty table, took out two empty plates and served some food onto them, placing them on the small table by the hospital bed.
He pulled out a wet wipe and carefully wiped Sophia's face and hands before handing her a fork.
His service was thorough and considerate.
Sophia leaned against the headboard, being waited on by him, feeling somewhat helpless. "I'm not that weak, am I? Are you treating me like a child?"
Benjamin ladled out a bowl of soup and placed it in front of Sophia. Hearing this, he looked up at her and chuckled softly. "Aren't you a child? Eat up. I specifically told them to make light, mild dishes."
"Such attentive service. Never thought I'd live to see Mr. White's gentle side." Joshua teased with a smile.
He couldn't help being surprised - during those days when Sophia was unconscious, Benjamin's presence had been terrifying.
Wherever he was, the temperature seemed several degrees colder, enough to freeze people to death.
He had casually remarked, "No need to be so tense, she's tough as nails."
And received an icy, murderous glare from Benjamin in return.
He was like a sleeping beast - the moment it opened its eyes and stared at you, your blood would boil uncontrollably, accompanied by a fear that dragged you into the abyss.
That one look from Benjamin gave Joshua nightmares for several days straight.
He still couldn't figure out what he'd said wrong.
If Sophia dared to try it, it meant she had confidence in the medicine she developed.
And he had confidence in Sophia's medical skills.
What was the problem?
Nothing!
Benjamin's eyes narrowed slightly, releasing a dangerous gleam from their depths.
Joshua's scalp instantly tingled. He quickly shut his mouth and didn't dare speak again.
He didn't want to experience being chased by beasts in nightmares every night again.
In Silverlight City, at an old warehouse in the suburbs, a man in a gray suit walked in, his voice low and husky.
"How's it going? Have you broken through?"
In a corner of the warehouse, a burly foreign man sat on a sofa in front of a computer, his long fingers rapidly tapping on the keyboard, eyes fixed unblinkingly on the screen.
He appeared calm, but sweat had already formed on his forehead.
He said to the person behind him, "How could it be that simple? Their security system is very high-level. I've never seen such complex programming in Novaria. Clearly they're an expert."
The more he spoke, the more excited he became, a gleam appearing in his eyes.
He hadn't expected this trip to Novaria would bring such an unexpected reward. It had been so long since he'd encountered a worthy opponent.
Excellent. They had piqued his interest.
"I must meet the person who set up this system!"
"Porter, don't forget the main task I gave you. Within three days, you must break through their system."
"Three days? Impossible! Just making sure my IP address isn't traced is already good enough, and you dare ask me to finish within three days?" Porter suddenly stopped, his eyes full of disbelief.
"I'm out of time. If you can't do it, I can find someone else!" The man in the gray suit sat down on the sofa, his expression arrogant and cold, his tone cruel and heartless.
Porter said angrily, "Go find someone else if you want, but I'm warning you - for this level of skill, only someone ranked on the global hacker leaderboard could do it."
"Aren't you on the list?" the man questioned coldly.
Porter was suddenly stumped by the man's words. "Yes, I'm ranked fifth. Their ability is above mine. Either they're a master who's never participated in rankings, or they're in the top four."
The man suddenly fell into thought. "How do I contact them?"
Porter helplessly spread his hands. "If I knew, I would've gone to compete with them long ago. Why would I waste time here with you?"
Now it was the man's turn to fall silent.
He had previously hired people to investigate the Lumina Group, but couldn't find any clues about this laboratory.
What puzzled him most was that the Lumina Group's brands currently had no business involving artificial intelligence or security protection.
Yet somehow, their internal system had such a high-level security setup.
The person he was looking for was probably in there.
The man lightly tapped his fingers on the armrest, waving his hand at his subordinate behind him. "Go investigate which of the top four on the global hacker list are in the country."
Following the order, the subordinate immediately turned and left the warehouse.
"Searching like this is useless. If it were really this easy to find them, wouldn't that be too embarrassing for people of our status?"
"So only you don't care about face?" the man sneered.
He had thought a globally ranked fourth hacker would be enough to deal with Benjamin and Sophia. Turned out it wasn't even close.
What a waste of his time.
Porter scratched his head, somewhat embarrassed. "Isn't it because I need money? Of all the people who wanted to hire me, you offered the highest price. Of course I'd come!"
Face wasn't as important as money!
The man gave him a cold glance, then got up to leave. "You're right, I paid you. So until I find a new hacker, you keep monitoring their movements."
Porter: "..."
Porter irritably pounded his fist on the keyboard twice.
The next second, the computer screen suddenly issued an alert.
He cursed and quickly tried to fix it.
He had accidentally hit the keyboard, nearly exposing his IP address.
At the Lumina Group, Eldon sat at the computer desk, eating pasta while watching the screen.
The other party's concealment techniques were excellent, leaving almost no traces, with constantly changing IP addresses.
Later, they just stopped altogether.
Eldon thought they'd chickened out and relaxed his guard, finishing his pasta in one go.
Just as he was about to throw away the trash, the other party suddenly made a move again.
Was this a provocation?
"Let's see if I don't catch you and make you suffer!" Eldon immediately pulled over the keyboard and started working.
In the laboratory, after finishing her meal, Sophia didn't put away the small table right away. Instead, she waved at Matthew. "Matthew, give me the computer."
"You still need to rest. Let someone else handle these things."
"I'm fine. I just want to check the surveillance and also help me look up the entry and exit records for the company over the past two weeks."
Matthew knew she was stubborn, so he handed her the computer.
Then he immediately took out his phone and called the front desk. When he returned, he saw Sophia's slender, pale fingers flying rapidly across the keyboard.
