Chapter 45 045
Chapter 45 045
The two of them entered a posh store shortly after. On one side, the woman was selecting outfits and purses, and on the other, the male was using his phone to respond to messages from other people.
Stella was hiding outside the shop, and from the angle, she could see the man's face. Her teeth were clenched. Liam was the one.
Within the upscale retailer... Taking a purse, Jolie approached Liam and said, "Honey, I love this bag so much. Would you purchase it for me?”
“Lady, you have good taste," commented the salesperson standing to the side. “This season's newest model of bag is this one at the entire City N, there are just two, and they are both at our store.”
Jolie's liking for the bag increased upon hearing his statements. "Then I want this one, okay?" she pouted as she gave Liam an arm hug.
With a gentle touch on her nose, Liam said, "All right. I'll purchase it for you."
"You all have two of the bags right? I want to buy the other one too," he said to the salesperson after finishing his statement and pulling out his card.
After taking his card and grinning, the salesperson said, "Okay, just a moment, please."
However, Jolie, who had just smiled, suddenly lost her happiness and released Liam's arm. "Are you going to buy that woman's bag again? You always give that woman anything you purchase for me. Why don't you just end our relationship if you're that in love with her?
Liam put his arm around her shoulder and said, "All right, sweetie. Remain calm. I have to compensate her too because I have been spending time with you when I return this month. I will only purchase the bag for you this time if you prefer any other models that are available in the store."
With a pout, Jolie prodded her finger at his chest and said, "That's more like it."
After exiting the upscale retailer, the two of them walked out of the mall. Liam put the elegantly wrapped package in the car and, with his arm around Jolie's shoulder, headed to the hotel adjacent to the shopping center.
Stella followed them silently the entire way. She discovered that the brazen couple was enjoying their infidelity so much that they were unaware that she was following them. When they got to the hotel, she went with them into the elevator and waited in the corner while a lot of people rode the lift. She trailed them, walking gently, until they got off the elevator. If Liam understood what was happening, she had no idea. He pivoted around.
Stella darted behind the door frame by her side at that precise moment. However, she was unprepared for the door's loose closure. The instant she hit it so hard, it opened. Stella assumed she would tumble to the ground or slam into the wall. Rather, she collapsed into a cozy hug. Stella raised her head and encountered the deep, dark eyes of a man. This was really wicked.
With one hand, Clarence was gripping his phone. He was staring at her with an unblinking stare. Through his casual gaze, Stella seems to have deduced his thoughts beforehand. She was positive the haughty man would be thinking.
"Look, look. You're so ready to fling yourself at me, even though I haven't given you any attention for a month.” Clarence's thin lips moved slightly, as if he was going to express what he was thinking, before she could think of anything to say.
Stella's first thought was that Liam might still be out there and that she wouldn't be able to find any proof of his adultery if he discovered she was pursuing him. She instantly stood on tiptoe and covered Clarence's lips before he could say anything. She shut the door behind her as well. There was an unsettling silence throughout the room, and the only sound coming from Clarence's phone was static.
“Mr. Conrad? Mr. Conrad, are you still listening?" Stella reacted as soon as Clarence lowered his gaze to look at it. She was anxious until her hand, which she had put to him, felt as though it would soon burn, at which point she quickly removed it.
He answered the guy on the phone, "Yes."
Regarding the construction of Singapore's resort hotel... "Send the complete project proposal to my office within two days." Clarence ended his phone call as soon as he was done speaking.
The room fell silent for a little while again. Neither Stella nor he opened their mouths. This was their first meeting since their bitter fight at the hotel ended a month ago.
Finally, unable to bear the eerie atmosphere, Stella laughed hysterically, "Mr. Conrad, what a coincidence..."
"It's indeed quite a coincidence that you met me by chance in my hotel." He was being quite snarky. Stella couldn't say anything. Were all the smug men in this world made of the same stuff?
The hotel was inaugurated by the haughty Clarence, and Liam took his mistress to book a room.
"Mr. Conrad, I didn't know this was your hotel," Stella clarified once more. I came here after someone else."
"All right," said Clarence. “What do you mean? Tell me if you think I'm telling the truth or not!”
After inhaling deeply, Stella stated composedly, "I don't care what you want to think. Regardless, I'm not here to locate you.”
With his dark brows narrowed, Clarence said, "So tell me who you want to find in my hotel."
Stella opened her mouth, and something clicked. At first she was going to answer, 'Why should I tell you? It's my right to search for anybody. It is not relevant to you." She owes the man in front of him a significant amount of money, so she immediately realized how impolite her statements were. It was preferable for her to show him some respect since she might still be able to work things out with him if she later found herself in an unforeseen circumstance and was unable to pay him on time. She reasoned that if she didn't show him some decency, she would ultimately lose.
A fool would be foolish to oppose capitalism. Softly grinning, Stella said, "I'm here to meet a buddy. What say you, Mr. Conrad?”
"None of your business."
Stella couldn't say anything. It made no difference. All she was doing was pretending to be interested.
With a hint of impatience, Clarence asked while holding onto his phone, "How much longer do you plan to spend with me here?"
Though he had arrived at the hotel for a scheduled meeting, he had unexpectedly received a call regarding his employment. She didn't anticipate that she would happen to run into him by accident as he casually pulled open a room. Clarence was undoubtedly not a believer in these kinds of coincidences.
After he disregarded her for a month, it appeared that she transformed. The only thing Stella then recalled was that she hadn't gone there to dispute with him. Liam ought to have gone into the room by now.
She retreated two steps and said, "Pardon me, I'm going to leave now."
Liam was a little nervous that day, but he wasn't sure if it was because he felt bad about anything he had done. He turned around just now and saw no one, but his sense of rationality told him he shouldn't have stayed.
Jolie, however, continued to embrace him firmly even after he expressed his want to leave. "If we were caught red-handed, wouldn't it be better if you just told the woman the truth so we could be together officially?" she said.
Liam did not respond to her questions and only laughed; it was clear that he intended to hook up with her while still dating his fiancée.
"All right, honey," he said, pulling down Jolie's hand. “Tomorrow, I shall go with you once more. I really must return today."
Jolie gave him another waist embrace as he made his way to the door, saying, "Kiss me before you go."
Liam gave her a kiss and encircled her in his arms. Stella observed the sight when she unlocked the hotel room door. She took a fast step backward once more. She shoved Clarence, who was behind her, aside in a rush and pulled out her phone to snap a picture of Liam and Jolie acting inappropriately as proof of their infidelity.
