Chapter 193
Chapter 193
Layla nodded. As they came out of the changing room, they saw Seth and Beckett waiting outside.
Beatrice let go of Layla and walked toward Beckett. "Honey, were you waiting for me?"
Beckett raised his hand and wrapped it around her bare back, quickly glancing at Seth beside him.
Although Seth didn't even look their way, he still turned around with Beatrice in his arms.
"Why are you running around in a bikini again?" Beckett pouted.
Beatrice seemed quite happy and stood on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek. "What's wrong? Are you jealous?"
Beckett glared at her without saying anything.
He draped the towel he had prepared over her shoulders.
Beatrice didn't refuse. Instead, she leaned happily against him.
Layla could tell that Beatrice actually enjoyed this.
Seeming to notice her gaze, Beatrice hugged Beckett's waist and turned to look at her, throwing her a flirtatious wink.
Layla was sure she did it on purpose, because Beatrice liked to see Beckett show his care and possessiveness toward her.
"Honey, shall we go over first?"
Beckett glanced at Layla and Seth, cleared his throat, "Seth, Layla, we'll head over first."
Beatrice waved at Layla, "Wait for you."
After saying that, Beatrice and Beckett turned and left.
Layla glanced at Seth and was about to follow them.
"What are you wearing underneath?"
Hearing his question, Layla turned to look at him. "A swimsuit, of course. What else would it be?"
Seth frowned. It wasn't that he particularly wanted to see Layla in a swimsuit, but Layla and Beatrice had come out together, so when he looked over, he naturally saw what Beatrice was wearing.
"Are you wearing the same thing as her underneath?"
Layla shook her head. "Of course not."
Seth's furrowed brow was just about to relax when he heard her say, "The color is different."
After saying that, Layla was about to leave when Seth grabbed her wrist.
"No." Seth snapped.
"No what?" Layla was puzzled.
"Too revealing. Go change into something else."
Layla knew it was somewhat revealing, but she still wasn't happy about others saying so.
She could think that herself, but others couldn't say it.
"I'm not changing. Let go of me. I'm going to the hot spring."
"Be good. Go change into something with more coverage."
"What kind of coverage do you want from a swimsuit?"
Seth still frowned at her. Layla struggled and said, "Will you let go or not?"
Seth had no choice but to let go. Only then did Layla give him a cool glance and say, "I'm going to the women's pool, not the public one. Stop throwing a fit!"
After saying that, she left. Seth watched her back and narrowed his eyes.
'Women's pool? Yeah, right!' He thought.
When Layla reached the corner, she asked which way Beatrice had gone, and the staff pointed her in a direction.
But when she entered, she discovered this was actually a public hot spring pool.
The kind where men and women could bathe together!
She was just about to turn and leave when Beatrice called out to her, "Layla, you're here! Come down quickly!"
Beckett also turned to look, then immediately asked in a low voice, "You told Layla to come here?"
"I didn't. She came on her own."
Layla looked at the four people in the pool, her gaze landing on Adrian. Adrian, who had been flirting with Coralie, also looked over at her.
Although Layla didn't think Adrian had any feelings for her—after all, they hadn't interacted much.
Beatrice's words had still left a mark in her mind.
She quickly looked away and was about to say, "I want to go to the women's..."
Seth walked in from behind and put his arm around her shoulder. "Let's go somewhere else."
"You two want to bathe alone, don't you?" Beatrice said deliberately.
Layla thought about how if she didn't bathe here, she'd have to bathe alone with Seth.
After weighing the pros and cons, Layla pulled away from his arm. "I think it's more fun if we all bathe together."
Beatrice turned around and leaned against the rocks. "Right, it's more fun with more people."
Seth's eyes darkened slightly. He pressed his lips together as he watched Layla lift her bathrobe and walk down the steps. Seeing that she went into the pool still wearing her bathrobe, his expression improved a bit.
But who bathed in a hot spring wearing a bathrobe?
So after Layla got into the pool, she took off the bathrobe and placed it on the rocks.
The hot spring pool was very large, big enough for thirty or forty people.
And the pool was surrounded by mist, so you couldn't really see each other clearly.
The moment she entered the water, it was a bit hot, but after getting used to it, it was quite comfortable and relaxing.
Layla pulled her arm out of the water and rested it on the rocks.
She had fair skin, and after soaking for a while, her arm had turned red.
Seth came to her side. Layla glanced at him but didn't say anything.
After all, there were other people in the hot spring pool, so she felt safe.
A staff member came in carrying a tray with chilled fruit, cold drinks, and red wine.
Seth turned to look at her and saw that her hair was already damp from the steam, beads of sweat on her nose, and her face was pink and flushed, looking tempting.
Seth, who hadn't had any such thoughts before, suddenly felt his heart stir.
His voice was somewhat husky as he asked, "What do you want to drink?"
Layla glanced over and said, "Juice is fine, thanks."
Seth took a glass of juice and handed it to her.
After drinking it, Layla let out a sigh of relief. This feeling was indeed very comfortable.
During this time, Beckett talked about the story behind developing this resort.
He and a friend came to the mountains to race cars and accidentally discovered flowing water that was warm.
Then he had someone come investigate and discovered there was natural hot spring water underground, and it was flowing spring water.
Beckett immediately started handling the development procedures.
"Layla, what do you think of my resort?" Beckett asked.
Layla looked at him and nodded. "It's nice, elegant, and secluded."
"Of course! It took me two and a half years. It hasn't officially opened yet—it'll open next month. Before opening, I invited everyone to come experience it. Pretty good, right?"
Layla smiled and nodded. "Very good."
Beckett looked away and glanced at Adrian. "Why aren't you saying anything?"
Only then did Adrian slowly open his eyes and glance at him. "Say what?"
"Then keep being mute."
Coralie, in Adrian's arms, looked at these upper-class people and suggested in a small voice, "Just soaking in the hot spring is boring. How about we play a game?"
Beatrice looked at her with interest. "Sure, what game do you want to play?"
"Something simple. How about Word Chain? Whoever loses has to drink. How's that?"
Beatrice nodded in agreement. "I agree."
Seth looked at Layla. "You can play if you want, or just watch."
Hearing this, Beatrice immediately looked at Layla and said, "It's only fun if everyone participates. Word Chain isn't hard. I grew up abroad, and I'm not scared, so what are you afraid of?"
Put that way, it did make sense. Layla couldn't refuse outright. If everyone played except her, it would be a buzzkill.
Besides, she probably wouldn't come in last—after all, there was still Beatrice.
"I can play."
