Chapter 23
Sofia's POV
I can't believe you just agreed in her staying just like that. " I grumbled once we were in the car.
" You dint expect me to tell her no and besides she's my mother in-law, if I refuse my mom would cho my head off for not allowing her in-law to stay. "Alexander confessed and it made sense to me.
" I'm not still satisfied with her staying over. Or you can as well ask her to stay at the guest apartment. " I stated in a matter of fact.
" She's a guest but at the same time your mother, no matter what she did to you, I can't do that. " Though he's right but I'm not still okay with it.
" It's nit about what she had done but rather what she would do. " I retorted.
Seeing that this could lead to a serious argument, I kept quiet.
"We aren't going to let Maggie ruin our morning right?" He asked and i nodded. He placed a sweet kiss in my forehead, eyes and cheeks.
I hadn't realize how deeply I had fallen for this man until this time. I can't even blame him for everything he had done in the past instead I prayed our future would be a peaceful one.
We got to the company and parked the car at the parking space reserved for him alone.
I was about opening the car down but he rushed out of his car almost immediately and opened the door for me.
"Are you being serious right now?" I asked and he bowed his head in courtesy.
"Yes my lady." I stepped out of the car, laughing at his funny behavior. This man indeed is funny.
"Your innocent smiles reminds me alot about my late wife." An unknown came out his car looking at i and Alexander.
" And that shouldn't be her business if her smiles reminds you of a late one." Alexander articulated.
" I said that because your peace would soon be ruined. That was how mine was scattered. When we started getting all lovey—dovey, they took her away." The man stated.
Why do I feel this man is emphasizing on something.
" What do you mean sir? I asked him to gain more informations.
" You don't want to know little one." The man answered and turned to face Alexander.
" Go, I'd catch up with you later." Alexander suggested and i went upstairs using the elevator.
Who could this man be? Alexander seems troubled.
" Good morning ma'am." Dona greeted.
"What's that supposed to mean? Don't call me that any longer." I complained and he nodded.
" I love my job so much that I wouldn't want to loose it." Dona added and went back to continue his work.
That was enough for me to understand what he meant.
Alexander had instructed him or should I say them, to address me that way.
But then, I don't think Dina needs to be involved. It should be strictly for Annie and Marie.
"Good morning dearieee." No one but Raven would greet me like that while dragging my neck.
"Raven, do you want to kill me?"
" I don't have a death wish so I would never." She replied and we both laughed.
" How was your weekend?" Raven asked giving me a knowing look.
This girl is so damned!
" My weekend was great " I replied acting oblivious of what she actually meant.
" So what's up?" She asked and i could bet her ears are standing now.
" Nothing happened babes, you get your hopes way too high." I dragged her ears and she winced.
" But you can't blame me... I need a God daughter." Raven said and instantly left my cubicle.
I mean, she said that loyd and other workers stared at me.
This girl is really something else.
Let me get a hold of you first." I worded in the air and she chuckled, hopping to her cubicle.
Just then, Marie walked in with Annie. I guess that have made up.
" Ew, here stinks." Marie stated with irritation.
" Maybe you're the one smelling." A worker stated but in the next instant, she received a slap across the face from Marie.
That was it!
I stood up as I lost it.
Walking towards Marie, I dragged her hair back and gave her a loud slap.
" You can't just bully anyone bitch!" I stated and cussed her with the 'f' word.
"This company isn't a place for war but if you need one, you'd receive a ten fold."
Marie was too shocked l utter a word.
What does she want to say?
"Serves you right?"
"Always feeling big when you're actually nothing."
Some interns who are weak and can't talk to her used that as an opportunity to insult her.
You know you acted fierce today. Amelia, a very stupid and foolish gurl walked up to me and said.
There is this saying that says; you can never know how foolish a person could be unless you test them. That's the exact description of you. I bombarded her and walked away.
"Raven, let's go eat something please I'm hungry. " Raven accompanied me to the Cafeteria.
"I love the way you handled Marie, at least that would make her to know her place because she acts too much." Raven stated.
"The next time she tries this rubbish, I'd make sure I show her who the boss is. Because, Alexander would never be happy to know she bullied me and went free so from today, I'd always deal with her even before she thinks of doing so." I stated and I meant it.
" I love your courage and I love the fact that you're at peace and enjoying your marriage. One can never know how a person is but it's actually not good to judge a book by its cover." She said with a scrutinizing look.
"Na, don't day that. This book was actually judged by its content." I stated referring to Alexander and she laughed.
"Well, that aside. There is a problem."
