Knight’s POV

“Under whose order?” I thundered out, my eyes pinned on the board member that stood behind the police officers.

“W-We decided to take legal actions against her.” He let out, straightening behind them. “She sold out the firm’s latest deal conclusion” He added, handing a piece of paper to one of the men who stood in front of him.

“Where did you get this from?” I questioned, my eyes roaming over the text message that was printed. My gaze shot to Vamica who peered at the paper within my hold.

Did she really do it? I watched her reaction to know for sure, a person first reaction to a situation determines their involvement.

Her soft gasp and trembling hands clarified what I already knew. She was been framed. “I am afraid you wouldn’t be able to arrest her, please take your leave officers” I let out calmly, my wolf growling within me.

“We have to make the arrest, a warrant has already been processed already” One of the officers disclosed, stepping forward with a handcuff in his hand.

I gently pushed Vamica behind me, my lips pulled back in a snarl. “She isn’t going anywhere with you” I grounded out, fighting against my wolf who thought it was the best time to try to take over my body.

“Are you trying to sabotage the company? I told you right now she sold classified information and yet you are trying to safeguard her? The chairman must hear of this!” The board member screeched out, pulling out his phone to call my father.

“Good morning, Commissioner” I said into the call I placed, my eyes scanning the reactions of the officers that stood before me.

They swallowed as they looked at each other, their confidence diminishing. “Good morning, CEO Magnus. Is there anything you need?” The commissioner asked me; his tone laced with excitement.

“I have some officers in my company trying to arrest someone, I want them gone” I gritted out, my eyes pinned on the board member who had brought the officers.

“Here you go” I handed the phone to one of the officers, watching as his hands shook before he collected my phone.

He went stiff before he responded to whatever the commissioner had said. I collected my phone back from him, my wolf wanting to rip me apart for trying to take away our mate.

“We would take our leave now. We are sorry for the disturbance” The man said before he and his second walked away from the entrance to my office.

“Where you two going to?! Come and do your job properly!” The board member went after the two officers.

“Thank you, for…everything” Vamica let out behind me. I turned to face her, my hands itching to draw her into my arms.

Her head was bowed, her shoulder inching up towards her ears. I touched her shoulder, only to find out she was shivering.

I pulled her into my arms, her body shuddering against mine. “It’s alright, bunny” I whispered, my chin resting on her head.

I felt her tears soaking through my suit jacket. I rubbed her back, her soft body melting into mine even more.

The thought of what would have happened if I hadn’t trailed Ethan’s car flashed across my mind. My hands tightened around her.

My wolf had almost taken over and run after them when I was fighting with the rogues that had ambushed them.

I had struggled against him; the most important thing was that she was safe. “I-I didn’t do it” She whispered, pushing away from me slightly.

The sight of her crying had me clenching my jaw. “I know you didn’t do it, bunny” I assured her. Could it be my father?

The content of the files she had sent to me came flashing across my mind. There had been a level of inconsistency in the recording of the events written there but it might have been done on purpose.

I would need to question him about it. But I couldn’t let him find out Vamica already knows about it. The amount of documentation in the files looked to be true.

I would need to start looking into the issue as fast as possible. A bang on the door had Vamica pulling away from me, a frown on her face.

The door was pushed open, Ronnie stepped in. “There is a meeting going on in the board room, the board members are requesting for your presence” He disclosed.

The meeting was to be expected. As Vamica and I walked to the board room, the people who could be behind the leak spread out before me.

There was Serena who I thought had learnt her lesson with the present I gave to her a week ago. Then my brother who wanted to take over the company at all cost.

My father was the only one who I wasn’t sure if he was involved in it. If what Vamica had said is true, then my father would want to tie up his loose ends.

“Why did you stop her arrest?”

“Did you two work together to do this?”

“She needs to be fired and we can always change the CEO!”

“The evidence was falsified” I stated out, stunning them all into silence for a while. “W-what do you mean it was falsified? Her name was clearly seen as the sender of the message!” The board member who had brought the officers exclaimed.

My eyes narrowed at him; the constant shaking of his leg gave him away. He knew it was falsified. I fixed my hands into my pocket, regarding him with a stern expression.

“Would you like to tell us where you got that information from?” I questioned. He blinked multiple times; his forehead covered with sweat.

“The s-sender is anonymous” He stuttered out, his gaze darting to the door. My gaze cut to the door, a figure dashing away just then.

I walked towards the door, pushing it open to see who it had been.
