Chapter 191 Taking Over The Main Storms
Chapter 191 Taking Over The Main Storms
He stared, his face twisted with defiance as he whipped his head toward Jaxon.
"You—!"
Before he could finish, Nightshade yanked the blade free and kicked him to the ground.
Blood poured from his mouth. His body convulsed. It was clear he had no fight left in him.
Jaxon's gaze was cold, murderous.
"I said I'd let you go. But my people never agreed."
Chase never saw it coming—that Jaxon would pull something like this. Swallowing his last breath in bitter resentment, he collapsed. Still.
Jaxon didn't even glance at him. He issued his orders.
"Get our people to clean this up. Split The Main Storms' assets among yourselves."
Nightshade nodded and left immediately to make arrangements.
By the time Jaxon stepped outside, Audrey and the others had already finished handling their end and arrived at the location.
"Appreciate everyone's help tonight. The Main Storms' territory is yours."
Jaxon had no interest in The Main Storms' holdings, but Audrey and the others fell silent.
Their brows furrowed. After a long pause, Audrey finally stepped forward.
"Mr. Storm, we've talked it over. The Main Storms' territory should still be managed by you."
At that, Jaxon's expression turned ice-cold.
"I already told you—I'm not interested in The Main Storms. Besides, this was all Laurent's. I don't want it."
His tone was frigid, his eyes sharp as daggers.
"I understand, Mr. Storm. But you need to think about the bigger picture. Laurent was guilty, sure—but these assets aren't. And your parents were part of the Storm family. Only by taking control of The Main Storms can you clear their name."
"On top of that, you're the only one who can 'legally' take over. If any of us get involved, the other factions will start circling. We'll be looking at another war."
What Audrey said was exactly what they'd all been worrying about.
At first, they'd been thrilled at the idea of dividing up The Main Storms' resources.
But once they really thought it through, they realized how many problems came with it.
If they made a move now, the other factions would swarm in, fighting tooth and nail to steal those assets.
After all, these were unclaimed spoils now. If they could take them, so could anyone else.
The best solution was for Jaxon to take control. He was a Storm. That made it an 'internal family matter.'
Even if the other factions were tempted, they wouldn't dare make a move.
Jaxon wasn't stupid. He understood immediately.
"Got it. In that case, I'll manage The Main Storms' assets. But you all helped me big time tonight. Split everything else among yourselves."
Audrey and the others lit up with excitement, immediately expressing their gratitude.
"Thank you, Mr. Storm!"
Laurent might've been a bastard, but over the years, he'd built The Main Storms into something formidable—resources far beyond what any of them had.
Even split evenly, they'd each walk away with plenty.
"Don't mention it."
Jaxon waved them off casually and said nothing more.
There was no point dragging this out any longer.
He wrapped things up quickly. As Audrey and the others left, he gathered all the remaining members of The Main Storms.
From the start, he'd never intended to wipe them out completely. Aside from Laurent and the ones who'd been involved in his parents' deaths, he'd left most of them alive.
Inside the estate, people exchanged uncertain glances. Just as they began to panic, Jaxon emerged.
Behind him were a dozen of his men, each carrying a corpse—Laurent and his inner circle.
At the sight, fear washed over the crowd. Panic filled their eyes.
They'd already lost to Jaxon. None of them dared make a move now.
As they stood frozen, Jaxon spoke calmly.
"I brought you all here for one reason. Laurent is dead. I'm officially taking control of The Main Storms. Anyone have a problem with that? Speak up."
Staring at Laurent's corpse, they looked terrified. No one said a word.
After all, if Laurent had died at Jaxon's hands, speaking up now would be suicide.
Seeing their silence, Jaxon remained expressionless and continued.
"Since no one has any objections, from now on, you'll follow my orders. If anyone causes trouble, I won't hesitate to kill them."
His eyes glinted coldly. The crowd looked panicked, barely daring to breathe. They nodded quickly.
"We'll follow your orders."
Jaxon nodded. But he wasn't done yet.
He pulled out a list. It contained just over a dozen names.
"When I call your name, stay. Everyone else can leave."
Though confused, no one dared linger.
Those who remained exchanged nervous glances, their minds blank.
Just as they began to spiral, Jaxon spoke calmly.
"Relax. I've done my homework on all of you. You're part of The Main Storms, sure—but over the years, you never helped Laurent do anything truly evil. So I'm putting you in charge of The Main Storms' assets."
They froze. Shock spread across their faces.
They'd thought Jaxon was going to kill them. This was the last thing they expected.
A few seconds later, excitement replaced their fear. They immediately thanked him.
"Thank you, Mr. Storm! We won't let you down!"
Jaxon remained calm, barely glancing at them.
"Don't thank me yet. I'm giving you this, but there are conditions. Don't cause me unnecessary trouble. If you do, I won't go easy on you. I promise—you 'will' die."
His gaze was sharp. They nodded frantically.
"You have our word."
Without another word, Jaxon had Nightshade divide the responsibilities among them.
Once that was settled, he immediately turned his attention to the next matter.
Taking down The Main Storms wasn't enough. There was still Crest Security Syndicate.
Killing Laurent was for his parents.
But Crest Security Syndicate—the ones lurking in the shadows—couldn't be left alone. They'd killed too many of his people.
To draw them out, the next morning, news of Laurent's death spread throughout Frostkeep.
But that wasn't all. He also deliberately leaked information that The Main Storms had been developing 'Prime.'
He didn't know about anyone else, but he was certain of one thing: once Crest Security Syndicate found out, they wouldn't be able to sit still. After all, this posed a direct threat to them.
