Chapter 192: Unable to Hold Back

After settling everything, Jaxon left the Main Storms estate. Though he'd now taken control of the Main Storms, he felt absolutely zero sense of belonging to the place.

By early the next morning, news of Laurent's death had already spread throughout Frostkeep.

If this had been outside infiltration, the other factions would never have sat still—they'd have seized the opportunity to grab the Storm family's assets.

But the outcome this time left them sorely disappointed. Because this could only be classified as an internal family conflict, any move they made would immediately brand them as instigators of Frostkeep chaos. Instead, they'd find themselves in everyone's crosshairs.

They ultimately abandoned the idea. Within just a few days, Jaxon had shot to the top of the trending searches, staying there.

But he paid no attention to the outside gossip. For him, only one thing mattered right now: figuring out the Crest Security Syndicate's movements.

"General Storm, all assets under the Main Storms have stabilized. Here's the detailed data."

Nightshade walked in carrying files, but he didn't even glance at them.

"Any news on the Crest Security Syndicate? How's the investigation going?"

At his question, Nightshade's brow furrowed, her expression grim.

"The situation's not looking good."

Hearing this, Jaxon's gaze instantly turned cold.

"What do you mean?"

"According to our investigation, they're definitely hiding somewhere in Frostkeep. Their forces are even stronger than before. But they're buried deep. Even with everything that happened to the Main Storms, they haven't made a single move."

At those words, Jaxon's expression turned ice-cold. He'd thought Laurent's elimination might draw them out of the shadows, but these bastards had more patience than he'd expected.

"If they still want to hide, then we'll throw out more bait."

At this, Nightshade stepped forward with curiosity.

"What are you planning?"

Under her gaze, Jaxon smiled coldly.

"Simple. We leak the Main Storms' Prime data to them in secret. These guys have been chasing raw power from the start. This'll definitely make them move."

"Understood. I'll arrange it right away."

With that, Nightshade immediately withdrew.

Though the Crest Security Syndicate hadn't shown their faces yet, they were watching everything from the shadows, constantly monitoring Jaxon's movements.

At first, they hadn't taken Jaxon seriously. After all, the Main Storms' downfall had nothing to do with them.

But the moment the Prime information leaked, their attitude shifted completely.

If they could get their hands on this, it would significantly boost their capabilities.

The moment greed surfaced, their movements gradually began to expose themselves.

"General Storm, according to our intel, someone's already planning to make a move. But their trail's still extremely secretive. We haven't pinned down a location yet."

Hearing this, Jaxon wasn't surprised.

If these guys were easy to track down, he wouldn't have spent all this time only taking out individual members of their organization, still unable to eliminate the entire Crest Security Syndicate.

"Don't bother tracking them. I'll handle them myself. Since they're drawn to the Prime data, they'll definitely come here."

"General Storm, those guys aren't to be underestimated. With just you alone, I'm worried you won't be a match for them. Why don't I prepare some backup, just in case something goes wrong?"

Hearing his suggestion, Jaxon waved it off.

"No need. Too many people will only complicate things. A bunch of trash like this—I'm more than enough to handle them."

Seeing Jaxon put it that way, Nightshade didn't push further.

"Oh, there's one more thing I need you to handle."

At this, Nightshade looked curious.

"What else?"

"According to my investigation, when Laurent killed my parents, several other factions were involved. They just hid themselves well. And since the Main Storms took the lead back then, no one went after them. But I'm not letting this slide now."

Cold light flashed in his eyes. With one look, Nightshade understood completely.

"Understood. I'll start gathering evidence right away."

Before she could finish, Jaxon cut her off.

"This time, we don't need evidence."

Killing intent surged in Jaxon's eyes. Meeting his gaze, Nightshade understood his meaning.

"Got it."

If this had been before, Jaxon might have gathered evidence to prove his case. But now there was no need.

All he wanted was specific information on these people. As for evidence? Completely unnecessary. He'd just wipe them out directly.

With Nightshade personally handling it, Jaxon didn't dwell on the matter.

After all, he knew Nightshade's capabilities inside and out. Dealing with them would be effortless.

What he needed to focus on now was the Crest Security Syndicate. To him, those guys were the real problem.

Night fell. Jaxon sat in the hall, wide awake and expressionless.

Suddenly, he sensed something off. Someone was watching from the shadows.

Though they were well-hidden, they still couldn't escape Jaxon's notice.

"Fast work. But perfect timing—I've been waiting for you."

Cold light flashed in Jaxon's eyes. Completely ignoring their predatory stares, he walked straight out of the room.

He swept the area with an expressionless gaze, then smiled coldly.

"Gentlemen, I've been waiting quite a while. Stop skulking around and come out."

His voice was ice-cold, eyes glinting with frost.

At his words, three black-clad figures burst from the shadows. All three wore masks that completely obscured their faces, but their eyes brimmed with killing intent.

"Not bad—you actually detected us. Seems you've got some skill. But we don't have time to waste on you. Hand over the Prime data and we'll make it quick. Otherwise, don't blame us for what happens."

Hearing their threatening tone, Jaxon couldn't help but laugh coldly.

"Threaten me? You think you're qualified?"

His gaze was contemptuous, his face full of disdain.

"Gentlemen, I don't have time to waste on you either. I'll give you one chance: tell me where the others are hiding, and I'll make it quick. Otherwise, none of you are leaving here alive."

At Jaxon's warning, they reacted as if they'd heard the world's funniest joke, laughing coldly.

"Ignorant fool. Still spouting big talk at a time like this. If you won't hand it over, don't blame us for taking it ourselves."

The three launched forward, surrounding Jaxon.

"Looks like I'll need to use a little force to get you gentlemen talking."

Jaxon's eyes turned cold as he charged straight at them.

Seeing Jaxon actually take the initiative, they stopped holding back, immediately attacking.

These three weren't weak, but threatening Jaxon? They still fell short.

Jaxon dodged with a flash, easily deflecting their attacks.
