Chapter 302: If It Really Doesn't Work Out, Then Break Up
Chapter 302: If It Really Doesn't Work Out, Then Break Up
Lily grabbed James by the chin and forcefully poured red wine down his throat.
She said coldly, "If your mouth is dirty, then I'll help you wash it out. No need to be polite with me."
James choked on the wine, his face turning red, but he couldn't break free from Lily's grip at all. He was shocked. When did Lily become so strong?
Sophie stood by anxiously, "Lily, what are you doing? Let go of him!"
Lily didn't release her grip until she'd forced the entire bottle of wine down his throat.
Emily smiled slightly from the side, impressed by how tough Lily was.
After James was freed, he flew into a rage, "David, are you just going to stand there and watch Lily treat me like this?"
David said sternly, "James, I actually think Lily did the right thing. You really do need to wash your mouth out."
How could James talk about Emily like that?
Could they really afford to offend the West family?
James was being incredibly stupid.
Sophie realized how serious this was, the Roberts family couldn't afford to offend Emily right now, let alone the West family.
Sophie quickly said, "David, we know we were wrong. James only said that because he was worried and confused. He didn't mean it. After all, he's in a wheelchair himself why would he say something so hurtful?"
David looked at James's legs, then said, "You two apologize to Ms. West, now."
Sophie was the first to speak, "Ms. West, I accidentally almost made you fall just now. That was my fault. My brother James never thinks before he speaks. I'm sure you won't hold it against him, right?"
After all, James was disabled too.
Disabled people should sympathize with other disabled people, right?
Emily gave a cold laugh, "So you wore my dress and got it dirty, and you think an apology is enough?"
"But Lily was the one who got the dress dirty," James said, looking at Lily. "If you want to settle accounts, go settle them with Lily."
Emily looked at David, "Is that true?"
David glanced at James's disabled legs, then finally said, "It was indeed Lily who got the dress dirty just now."
Lily laughed coldly after hearing this.
David got a bit angry, "Lily, what's with that attitude? Don't think that just because you're my sister, I'll cover for you."
"Enough."
Emily looked up, her gaze cold, "It was clearly Sophie who deliberately spilled the wine on the dress. Are you really going to frame Lily?"
James said, "It was Lily who did it. We all saw it, right, David?"
David nodded. If he let Sophie take all the responsibility at this point, she probably couldn't handle it.
After all, this matter involved Lily, too.
Lily's eyes were mocking as she looked at Emily, "You saw it too, didn't you?"
Emily felt very guilty. She had misunderstood Lily before.
She'd thought Lily was just arrogant and domineering, jealous that Sophie was better than her, so she made things difficult for her and even bullied her.
But today she'd heard the whole thing with her own ears, and witnessed how the Roberts family was slandering Lily.
David suddenly got nervous, looking at Emily, "You saw it?"
Emily's eyes turned cold. She stepped forward and slapped David across the face, "Yes, I saw everything. But I never expected you to lie with your eyes wide open and slander your own sister."
At this moment, Emily began to wonder if David had been lying to her all along.
After David took the slap, the private room became completely silent.
Everyone present didn't dare to speak.
Especially James and Sophie after all, David had always been the authority figure at home. They'd never seen David treated like this before.
David took the slap, and his eyes darkened instantly, but he quickly regained his composure.
But David's tone wasn't good either: "Emily, even though Lily didn't do it herself, this matter is still related to her."
"So you think I'm blind? That I couldn't see Sophie's little tricks just now?"
Emily was angry, "My legs have problems, but my eyes don't."
David had nothing to say to that. He finally looked at Sophie, "You, come here!"
Sophie's eyes showed reluctance. She didn't want to go over at all, and didn't want to admit she did it on purpose.
Damn it, that cripple actually saw her.
James immediately stepped in front of Sophie, looking at David and saying, "David, I was the one who took it upon myself to give Sophie the dress. If you want to blame someone, blame me. Why are you making things difficult for Sophie? Don't forget she's done favors for the Roberts family."
James's guilt trip left David almost breathless.
He pointed at James, "Who gave you permission to talk to me like that?"
"David, you're protecting Ms. West, so naturally I have to protect my people."
James's attitude was self-righteous, not feeling he'd done anything wrong at all. Sophie hid behind James.
David shouted, "Are you trying to drive me crazy?"
Lily laughed out loud at the scene.
David turned his head to look at Lily, "Is it funny?"
Lily nodded, "Yeah, it's pretty funny. I think James is right. Sophie really has done favors for the Roberts family. It's not appropriate for you to be so aggressive."
Since the stage was already set, she didn't mind adding fuel to the fire.
David used to love guilt-tripping people, didn't he? So today, when it threatened his own interests, Lily really wanted to see if David would still stick to his family principles.
Lily's eyes were mocking, making David so angry he almost coughed up blood.
David finally loosened his tie and said to Emily in a low voice, "I didn't know the family gave the dress to Sophie to wear. I'll give you an explanation for this. Let me take you back to your private room first."
He couldn't let Emily stay here, or many things would be hard to handle.
But Emily didn't leave. She pointed at Sophie, "I'm a very generous person. Have her take off my dress, and I won't hold today's events against her."
David frowned, "But Sophie didn't bring any clothes to change into."
"That's her problem. Do I have to consider a thief's situation too?" Emily suddenly became assertive.
After all, she'd just heard Sophie's arrogant words in the bathroom, and now, seeing Sophie act all weak and pitiful, Emily was furious.
She hated people like Sophie the most.
Emily wouldn't back down, "I don't care. She has to take off the dress right now, or this matter won't end here."
James spoke up directly, "It's just a dress. When you marry David in the future and become our sister-in-law, what's wrong with letting your future sister-in-law wear a dress?"
David quickly used his eyes to warn James to stop talking.
Emily looked at David coldly, "Are all you Roberts family people this shameless? I need to reconsider my relationship with you. I don't want to have such greedy people as my future brother-in-law."
David was helplessly angry, "Emily, this is all just a misunderstanding!"
"I don't want to hear this nonsense. Either she takes off the dress right now, or we break up!" Emily's attitude was firm.
