Chapter 303 David Is Now in a Dilemma

Chapter 303 David Is Now in a Dilemma

When Lily heard Emily propose breaking up, she felt a bit surprised.

She didn't expect Emily to be even more decisive than her.

When Emily proposed the breakup, David froze. "You're saying we should break up?"

"Yes, I never imagined that you, the Roberts family, would be like this. That Sophie just wore my dress, and you actually agreed to let her wear it home to change out of it, then give it back to me?"

Emily's expression was sarcastic. "David, do you really think I need this dress that badly? How dare you humiliate me like this?"

When Emily heard David say those things earlier, she knew that David had never truly liked her.

All their time together had been a lie.

Even though she had a disability with her foot, she didn't want to be deceived by a man.

Only now did David realize that Emily had heard everything. He nervously explained, "Emily, that's not what I meant."

Emily was very firm. "I'm giving you a chance to make it right now."

David's face turned dark with anger. He turned and walked toward Sophie, who quickly backed away in fear.

James blocked David's path. "David, what are you doing? You want to take Sophie's clothes off? That's not appropriate, is it?"

David stared coldly at the two people in front of him, lowering his voice, "Take the dress off, or you both get out of the Roberts family!"

He had so much cooperation with the West family. If he broke up with Emily, the Roberts Group would face bankruptcy.

David's eyes grew even colder.

He stared at Sophie. "I know you've always been smart. I hope you can make a smart choice right now."

Sophie was instantly furious. She couldn't believe she had to run into Emily today. Damn it!

Of course, she couldn't anger David, and she couldn't offend Emily either. Sophie knew that David had accepted a lot of investment and business dealings from the West family.

Sophie nodded reluctantly. "James, just have someone buy me any outfit from around here."

James looked at Sophie. "You don't have to feel so wronged. I told you that being with me means you won't have to suffer."

But Sophie was cursing him in her heart. 'Then why don't you stop just talking and actually stand up to David?

No real ability at all, just saying she won't be wronged with your mouth. What's the use of that?'

Lily suddenly pointed toward the door. "You could ask The Velvet Vine for a waitress uniform. That would be the fastest way."

After Lily finished speaking, Emily beside her nodded. "That's right, have The Velvet Vine send over a server's uniform."

David breathed a sigh of relief. "I'll go tell them."

No matter how unwilling Sophie was, she could only change into the Velvet Vine server's uniform. She was so angry she almost cried.

She had come to The Velvet Vine for dinner wearing a haute couture dress today, planning to brag about it to Samantha and the others when she got back to school, so those women would stop looking down on her.

Now, all of this had been ruined by Emily and Lily.

When Lily saw Sophie come back wearing the waitress uniform, she immediately laughed out loud, "Actually, this outfit suits you pretty well. After all, what's stolen will never really be yours."

Sophie walked over to James with tears in her eyes. "James, I didn't steal anything. This outfit is so ugly. If people see me, they'll think I work here. It's so embarrassing."

This was all because of that idiot James, making her get humiliated by that cripple Emily.

James pointed at Lily and demanded, "You go change into a work uniform too, wear the same clothes as Sophie, then she won't feel awkward."

Hearing this ridiculous demand, Lily said coldly, "Why don't you change into a staff uniform too? Then you two can have matching couple outfits."

James's expression paused. "Why would I wear a staff uniform? Lily, what kind of attitude is that?"

"Whatever attitude you have, that's the attitude I'll have," Lily replied just as unfriendly.

David frowned and spoke up, "Alright, stop arguing, or people will laugh at us."

Don't you see Emily is still here? Don't you feel embarrassed?

David brought the changed dress to Emily. "The dress has been changed out of. You should calm down now, right?"

Emily used to be pretty easy to appease. How unlucky that she happened to see this today.

He was very annoyed that he had said Sophie could wear it and then change out of it when she got home.

Emily glanced at the changed dress, then turned and threw it directly into the trash can, pouring red wine all over it.

Seeing this scene, Lily just wanted to applaud.

When Sophie saw this, her heart ached. Since Emily didn't want the dress, she could have given it to her.

Making her change out of the dress and then throwing it away in front of her was clearly humiliating her!

David's face looked unpleasant as he looked at Emily. "What are you doing?"

"Throwing it away, of course. Did you think I would want a dress someone else wore?"

Emily looked at David , and said matter-of-factly, "In your eyes, your adopted sister is a treasure, but in my eyes, she's nothing."

A flash of anger crossed David's eyes. After all, this behavior was humiliating him, but he couldn't say anything to Emily.

Whether it was Emily's fault or not, he couldn't say anything, especially since the Roberts family was at fault today.

David could only swallow his anger. "You're right. I'll get you another birthday gift later."

Emily glanced at Sophie over there. "A driver's daughter should know her place. Wearing expensive clothes won't turn you into a socialite."

Sophie immediately burst into tears. "Ms. West, I've always known my place. I've been careful to please everyone in the Roberts family all these years."

James immediately said with concern, "Don't cry, Sophie. I know you haven't had it easy in the Roberts family."

Emily immediately retorted, "I think she's had it pretty easy. After all, I heard the Roberts family favors their adopted sister so much they even kicked their real sister out of the house."

After hearing this, Sophie's tears stopped. That damn cripple knew quite a lot.

David didn't want Emily to stay here any longer. He quickly said, "Emily, today's incident is indeed the Roberts family's fault. I'll explain properly, but there's no need to let your family know about this, right?"

If the West family found out, the nature of this matter would be completely different.

"If you want me not to tell my family, fine, but your adopted sister Sophie deliberately stained the dress earlier and won't admit her mistake. Someone with that kind of character—are you just going to let her off?"

Emily continued to go after Sophie.

Sophie was grinding her teeth in anger. Damn it, when will this end?

David was caught in a difficult position for a moment, but he still looked at Sophie. "It's my fault for spoiling you all this time. I thought since your parents died and your father did the Roberts family a favor, I should treat you well. I never expected you to be so malicious. Come apologize to Ms. West, admit your mistake, and promise you'll never do this again."

Sophie's voice immediately became shrill, "David, I didn't do anything wrong. It was clearly Lily who scared me on purpose, which made me spill the wine on the dress."

James also chimed in, "David, Sophie is my fiancée, your future sister-in-law. If anyone should apologize, it should be Lily!"

Lily said with a cold laugh, "Do you think Ms. West is a fool who's that easy to deceive?"

But Emily looked at David. "Isn't Sophie your adopted sister? How is she also your sister-in-law? Isn't that incest?"

David's face instantly became very unpleasant.

He wished he could throw both Sophie and James out. They caused more problems than they solved.

How had he never noticed before that Sophie was such a troublemaker?
