Chapter 127 Michael Looked for You All Night at the Bar
Seeing how guarded he was, Olivia's heart instantly sank.
Last night, when Samantha told her she saw Dennis carrying a girl out of the bar, she didn't believe it.
She tracked down Dennis to this hotel and rushed over.
She never expected it to be true!
Olivia knew it was all wishful thinking on her part. She had deliberately tried to please Dennis's mother and spread rumors about being engaged to him, all just to get a chance to be with him.
But deep down, she knew Dennis had always been cold toward her.
Dennis looked at Olivia coldly without saying a word. She didn't dare approach him or barge into the room.
Just then, a server wheeled over a food cart.
Dennis took the cart himself and glanced at Olivia: "Move."
Olivia instinctively stepped back. She was a bit unwilling to give up: "Dennis, I just..."
Dennis shut the door directly, not saying a single word the whole time.
He wheeled the cart over to Lily.
Lily looked toward the door: "Who was that talking to you just now?"
It sounded like a woman's voice.
Dennis replied calmly: "Room service."
He handed Lily the bag with clothes: "Change your clothes first."
Lily took the bag, but she wasn't wearing anything now. How was she supposed to change?
Then Dennis turned around: "Go ahead and change, I won't look."
Lily blushed as she took the bag. Even underwear was prepared inside.
She quickly changed her clothes, then coughed: "I'm done."
Dennis turned back and pushed the cart in front of her: "Eat something first."
Lily glanced at the breakfast. She was actually a bit hungry.
She sat on the edge of the bed, eating, and looked at him: "Don't you want some too?"
Just then, Dennis's phone rang.
"I need to take this call."
Dennis walked straight to the balcony, his voice turning cold: "Speak."
"So what happened with you and Lily last night?"
Dennis looked a bit uncomfortable: "Don't ask what you shouldn't. Villains die from talking too much!"
"Damn, you didn't actually sleep with Lily, did you? What are we going to do?"
"No, I wouldn't touch her."
"Good thing you still have some sense. She can't be with you. Get a grip."
Dennis looked back at the figure hunched over the table, eating, his gaze softening considerably.
His tone was somewhat bitter: "I know."
He understood this better than anyone.
But right now, he felt stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Dennis changed the subject: "How's the investigation into last night going?"
"It's connected to the Harper family. That Sophie from the Roberts family is actually studying at the business school too, in the same class as Olivia's sister. Sophie deliberately stirred things up and schemed to make Lily offend Samantha, which led to what happened at the bar last night."
Dennis thought about Olivia showing up at the hotel earlier.
He said in a low voice, "Have Samantha's bodyguards been handled? Make them keep quiet."
"You don't need to tell me. I already took care of it. But Samantha probably saw you carrying Lily away last night, though she didn't see your face. So the Harper family probably knows you have a woman on the side."
Dennis rubbed his temples: "No one can know about her existence. It won't do her any good!"
He knew Lily wanted to leave the Roberts family and live freely.
If people found out about her relationship with him, she'd have endless trouble.
He didn't want to disrupt her life.
"That's easy enough to handle. But what about Lily being set up? What are you going to do about that? If we hadn't happened to be there last night, the consequences would have been unthinkable!"
"Didn't you say Samantha used to bully classmates at school all the time and cause a lot of trouble? Pick the most serious incident and expose it. Let the Harper family teach her a proper lesson!"
Dennis knew Lily didn't want him to interfere!
But that didn't mean he would actually do nothing!
After hanging up, Dennis sent a message to his secretary: "Clear the hotel!"
He didn't want anyone to see Lily when they left.
He had to protect her!
After ending the call, Dennis returned to the room. Lily had basically finished eating.
She looked up at Dennis, her eyes flickering.
What should she say right now?
Dennis checked the time: "Do you have class today?"
Lily thought about it: "I have class this afternoon."
"If you're not feeling well, you can skip it."
"No need to skip. I'm basically fine now. Class isn't tiring anyway, I'm just sitting in the classroom."
Lily mainly felt too embarrassed and didn't know how to face him.
She also didn't know how to handle their relationship now!
Dennis could tell Lily was very uncomfortable. His tone was teasing: "Are you that afraid of being with me?"
Lily's breath caught: "Who said that? I just don't want to skip class."
"College isn't complete without skipping class."
Seeing her trying to act tough, Dennis finally stopped joking: "I'll drive you to school."
Lily watched his back and finally relaxed.
She quickly freshened up and left the hotel with Dennis.
Lily went with Dennis to the underground parking garage.
Dennis drove himself while Lily sat in the passenger seat.
But for some reason, her seatbelt got stuck when she tried to fasten it.
Dennis leaned over toward her to help adjust the seatbelt.
Lily looked up to see Dennis so close. They were very near each other.
Watching this scene, something suddenly flashed through her mind. Had the same thing happened before?
This scene felt very familiar!
Dennis looked down and met Lily's eyes. His heartbeat also quickened uncontrollably.
He looked away in a panic, quickly fastened her seatbelt, then sat up straight.
After the car started, Lily secretly glanced at him.
She still felt that the scene of Dennis fastening her seatbelt seemed familiar. Had she dreamed about it?
Neither of them spoke much during the drive. The car stopped outside the school.
Dennis tried to stay calm: "If you run into any trouble at school, you must tell me."
Samantha would definitely cause more trouble for Lily at school, but soon the Harper family would have their own problems to deal with.
"I can handle school matters myself. I'm going now."
Lily opened the car door and walked toward the school.
As soon as she entered the school, Michael walked over: "Lily, are you okay? Sophie said you disappeared at the bar last night. I looked for you around the bar all night."
Lily sneered: "Sophie told you that? Crocodile tears."
"Lily, you're really misunderstanding Sophie this time. She looked for you with me all night."
Michael continued explaining: "Sophie has really changed a lot lately. She's very worried about you."
Hearing this, Lily didn't even have the energy to respond.
Michael's sharp eyes spotted the kiss marks on Lily's collarbone. He grabbed Lily's hand.
"Lily, what happened last night? Were you raped? Tell me!"
"Let go!"
Lily's eyes reddened as she slapped Michael across the face: "You want to know what happened to me last night?"
