Kami

Kami knew the moment had arrived. She saw it on Cole’s face, just the way his eyes went wide One minute she was beating the crap out of him at Mario Cart in their brand-new living room, and the next the whole world seemed to be on fire.

Kami grabbed her new daggers from the kitchen counters as they both ran towards the front door. He had made her promise that if the Pack were to ever be attacked that she would fall back to the Pack house to try to defend the Luna and any of the pups that would shelter there.

The Pack house was the official rally point for the old, infirmed and very young. Being in the center of Pack lands made it ideal for the stronger to defend the weaker. Yet, even as they went into the shelter, no member of the Pack came unarmed. Kami knew she would be placed as the last line of defense because Cole was overprotective not because he doubted her abilities.

Cole shifted the minute they were in the street. She leapt onto his back and they raced towards their goal. Kami could see Charlotte riding on Sam behind her with a terrified look on her face. She clung to his neck as Sam sped towards Cole.

When they reached the park near the Pack house, Kami jumped from Cole’s back and began helping small children up the stairs that led into the Pack house. The new mothers and eldest she-wolves were there to help care for them while they were in the safe room of the basement.

Sam pushed Charlotte into the house with his nose and began to herd her to the hidden elevator. She started to protest but Kami handed her a dagger and said, “They need you more,” as she pointed to a couple of toddler pups who were waiting for their turn on the lift.

Lady Sansa and Leah were helping to direct people and organizing the Omegas who would be defending the first floor of the Pack house to conceal the elevator and defend those who were injured during the fight and forced to fall back.

Kami and Cole ran back to the yard, with Sam right behind them. Cole pushed Kami to a place near the stairs and gave her his “I’m serious,” look.

“Yes, Cole. I’ll stay near the Pack house. Now go make the bad guys dead.” She answered.

She watched as Cole went one way and Sam went the other. A few of the enemy wolves had broken through the warrior line and they were headed to intercept. However, most of the enemy combatants were bottlenecked in the trap that Kami had laid with her false maps.

The invading force was larger than they originally had expected. Kami soon realized they weren't just dealing with Silvermoon wolves. She saw too many signs that there were rogues mixed in. It was an unusual combination. She realized there was more going on behind the scenes than what she had originally thought, but Blackrock was still up to the challenge and she knew it.

The fighting was fierce and blood was everywhere, but she knew that they were winning. When Silvermoon had crossed the border, the already-on-edge troops sounded the alarm quickly. The false trail that Christy had stolen had pushed the rogues and enemy soldiers right into a tight space where the Blackrock warriors were waiting for them. It had become a bit of a bloodbath.

Kami didn't have time to be much of a bystander, because a small calico colored wolf began to stalk her. Kami smiled as she pulled her poison dagger from her hair and pushed the little button to reveal the blade. She had spent every free moment practicing with either Matt or Cole. At this point she knew she was quite deadly.
The little wolf began to snarl and bark at her. “I wouldn’t, if you turn around now, you can still go home.” Kami warned it.

The wolf seemed chuckle and Kami put on menacing smile. The wolf lunged at Kami and she dodged. As she spun around, she stabbed the wolf just above the shoulder blade. It howled and jerked away from the blade creating a huge gash down it’s back. Blood sprayed all over Kami as she posed for the next attack. The wolf circled around and went for her thigh. Again Kami was ready and she stabbed the wolf in the neck. She knew she'd hit the carotid and that it was over. The wolf fell to the ground and began to bleed out.

She looked up to just in time to see Wendi arrive riding on one of the Twins. Kami couldn't tell them apart so she had no idea if it was Alex or Leo. The big black wolf ran straight to her and lowered himself down so Wendi could climb off. She readied her staff and sent her mate out into the fray. Lady Sansa and Leah came out of the house, which meant the last of the children were now safe in the basement. They transformed and bounced off towards the invaders.

Kami again became distracted as another wolf came running at her. This one looked unkempt, and she suspected it was a rogue. Sadly it did not have very many fighting skills, and Kami was able to take it down easily. She was pretty sure it was still breathing when it hit the ground.

She heard Wendi scream and looked up as Adam took his last breath. She watched in shock as the Scarface rogue from the dress shop, turned on Jenny and killed her.

Instantly Wendi was preparing to fight Scarface, when one of the Twins jumped in front of her. Wendi stepped back as one of the she wolves from the club transformed into a light grey wolf at the edge of the yard. Instead of going for the enemy, it attacked its own Luna.

Kami ran to protect Wendi who was fighting hard, when she saw Matt go down out of the corner of her eye. He was fighting three large werewolves and was bleeding profusely. The largest was about to rip Matt's throat out when Kami suddenly jumped head first in the middle of the pile. She began to stab wildly as she kicked and screamed. She felt her dagger sink into the eye of the wolf that was about to end Matt. It howled.

Suddenly the three wolves were no longer focused on Matt, instead they wheeled around on her. She struggled to get off of the ground and take a defensive position. The now half blind, and largest wolf snarled as it lunged for her. Kami ready her dagger but she knew he was about to take her down.

Out of nowhere, Cole seem to appear and charged headfirst into her attacker. They rolled across the ground, and Kami heard the yelp. Her attacker was dead and Cole was coming back around to finish off another. The littlest one attacked Kami while Cole fought on. She managed to get a pretty good stick to the wolves kidney before she heard one of the Twins howl.
