Ana went back to the meeting room and Emiliano looked up at her questionably when he saw the look on her face.
“I’m sorry ladies and gentlemen, but I can’t stay till the end of this meeting. My business partner will discuss the rest of the details with you guys. My apologies” Ana bowed her head and went to take her bag.
Emiliano held her hand “What happened?” He whispered in worry.
“Nothing happened, a friend just called and said she needs my help” Ana told a lie without thinking how obvious of a lie it was.
Emiliano let her go but frowned at her lie. She knew he had seen it was Fernando Buenavista and yet she said it’s a female friend? He clenched his fist under the table.
Back at the club, Luis looked at his friend who was still drinking.
“You should stop, I do not know why you get so worked up over Silvia action today”
“Because that woman had tried to kill herself so she can do anything to get what she wants?”
Luis sighed “let’s not focus on the negative right now. Let’s talk about the positive. Ana is alive, that’s good news cause I know you spent the last 6 years mourning her death. So it’s great she is still alive and more, she had a child for you, a beautiful daughter you say looks like you”
“Yes, but that crazy woman will surely not let them be”
“Fernando, I know you will make sure nothing happens to them. You are the king of this city, if Silvia does anything you will surely handle her” Luis knew this fact but he doesn’t know why his friends were so worried.
Fernando said nothing and kept on drinking.
After about 15 minutes Ana arrived at the club and it took her ten more minutes to locate the vvip section and room they were in.
Fernando looked up when he heard the door open.
The moment Ana stepped in fully dressed in her corporate skirt and blaster. Luis widened his eyes.
“I believed him when he said you were alive but seeing you in flesh made me shocked again. Wow, it’s so glad to see you Ana” Luis said.
Ana looked at him, she remembered seeing him a few times in the past but has never spoken to him and since they do not know each other that well she decided to ignore him.
She faced Fernando “I’m here now, you can talk, tell me what Silvia said that can put my child in danger”
Fernando touched the space close to him “Come seat then I will tell you”
“Just say it, I have no time to joke Mr Buenavista” Ana said in anger.
“If you do not seat then I will not tell you anything” Fernando said.
Ana was angry at his condition but she went to sit close to him. It was not like he was going to bite her.
Luis, who was ignored by her before, realized how much he seemed like a stranger right now so he stood up and quietly left the room that both of them didn’t even notice.
Fernando looked at her calmly
Ana looked at all the bottles on the table and sighed.
“Tell me what she said, I’m a lawyer, whatever she said will be used against her”
Fernando smiled “She is crazy, she is angered and threatened to take me along with her if she dies. I drove her out of my family estate when she came unannounced but I do not know what she might be up to now. Although I have my people keeping an eye on her every move, you never can tell what a crazy person can do. She had fallen out of a moving vehicle and has self harmed herself several times so who knows what she might do next. I know how to handle her but with our daughter in the picture I’m so worried for her safety”
Ana clinched her fist “I knew it will come to this which is why I kept my identity hidden from you and everyone else” Ana said.
“Are you justifying the reason for your lies? Fernando asked her.
“Yes” Ana said confidently “That woman is dangerous so I never wanted her to know my daughters existence until justice is served that was any original plan”
“What are you saying? Fernando was lost. He sat up and looked straight at her.
“I told you someone tried to kill me. And yet you have not thought about who might have wanted to kill me and my child and get rid of my family too”
“Are you suspecting Silvia?”
“Yes, I have footage of her seeing me when I went to visit my doctor for a pregnancy check up 6 years ago. She had found out I was pregnant so I suspect she did it. We had caught the people who kidnapped me but they did not know the real identity of who sent them because she had used an anonymous means to contact them and sent them funds using a digital currency that is untraceable. So I have no concrete prove yet”
Fernando was shocked by her revelation “Why didn’t you tell me this before now?” Fernando asked in anger.
“What would you have done without a proof?”
“I would have tortured the truth out of her”
“You said it yourself that she has self harmed herself many times and even ran out of a moving vehicle. Do you think you would have been able to torture the truth out of someone who is suicidal?” Ana asked him.
Fernando ran a hand in his hair in frustration “I will handle her, I promise you I will find the evidence that she did it”
“She has hurt my family, I will be the one to take care of her. Just make sure she doesn’t get close to my child or hurt her” Ana stood up to leave but he dragged her to sit down back.
“What do you think you are doing?” Ana glared at him.
“Then let me help you find the evidence you need. She had tried to kill my child so I deserve to get involved”
“Fine, but I’m not teaming with you, just send me any information you get” Ana wanted to get up again but he stopped her.
“Ana”
“What is it?”
“You and our child should move into my family estate for safety. It’s more secure there, I do not want anything to happen to both of you. If not I will not be able to live” Fernando said as he looked into her eyes.
