“What?” Anabelle screamed as she couldn’t believe her twin’s words.
‘I said, that company belongs to your sister-in-law,” Octavius said as he stared at the wall wondering whether the latter had not heard her or that she just didn’t want to believe him.
“My sister–in–law? Which sister–in–law?” Anabelle asked causing Octavius to feel like beating her.
“Oh? How did the great Miss Anabelle Rodriguez, the only daughter to Amanda Anderson and Antonio Rodriguez EQ lower?” he asked mockingly causing the woman on the other side mad.
“Octavius, Don’t dare push your luck!” Anabelle said in between her teeth as she felt like beating the shit out of the latter.
How could he insult her that way?
“What? It's true. How many sisters-in-law do you have?” Octavius said as he shook the pen in his hand being in a good mood after insulting his sister.
They have always been on each other’s shoulders. No one wanted to give in to each other. In academic, business ideas. They always wanted to prove that one of them was better than the other and that they weren’t twin who were similar in everything.
“Like duh! Have you forgotten that I have two sisters-in-law? My husband’s family,” Anabelle said causing Octavius to cuss.
Most of the time he forgot that the latter was married. He never believed that his cold and aloof sister had gotten married and found love even before him.
“Now, you are the one with the lowest EQ between us,” Anabelle said angrily while Octavius massaged his temple and didn’t refute her words as he knew that it was fruitless when he had behaved as she suffered from memory loss when he didn’t.
“I mean my wife, that company belongs to her,” he said as he didn’t want to beat around the bush.
He just wanted to later to hang up the call so that he could continue with his work.
“Your wife? How? Hasn’t the company always belonged to Melda?” Anabelle asked curiously and in disbelief.
She had investigated her brother’s wife in fear that she had married in because of his money and looks thus she knew most things about her.
“Her mother had founded the company for her before she left. Melda was her mother’s apprentice thus the company was left under her care. It was just recently when Rhiannon took over the companies that her mother left for him,” Octavius said in a serious tone as he never hid anything from his sister.
Although they both argued a lot and they were competitive, they were like each other’s best friend. Always sharing everything and not trusting other people.
“Companies?” Anabelle asked causing Octavius to cuss loudly as he had not expected that he would have a slip in the tongue.
Although they were close, he had not decided to tell her everything about Rhiannon as he wanted it to be her story and not other people telling her own story.
“Sorry, I just slipped. I meant to say company and not companies,” he said quickly causing Anabelle to roll her eyes.
“Oh please spare me, my beloved twin brother. I know you better than I know anyone else! I can tell whether you are lying or not thus you better tell me the truth,” Anabelle said in a stern voice making Octavius angry.
Most times when Anabelle wanted something, she would speak to him like she was his parent and it always made him angry as he felt he was the one who should use that tone and not her since he was the oldest but how could the pampered girl understand that?
“If you have already decided it's companies and not companies then why are you asking me silly questions?” he asked then hung up causing Anabelle to throw her phone away from her out of anger.
“That man! He only knows how to make me angry! Can’t he just speak like how a normal brother would do?” she asked Olivia chuckling as it wasn’t anything knew
They two would always argue making her wonder how they had managed to live together, under the same roof when they were kids.
“What's the point of complaining? Isn’t he your one brother in a million or the entire world? You love him so much that you never want him to be hurt! Also, you share all of your secrets with him forgetting your best friend over here,” Olivia said as she pouted as if she was wronged.
Hearing and seeing her actions, Anabelle chuckled and most of her anger dissipated.
“It's just that that man can never answer what you ask him. He always beat around the bush as if he thinks that my IQ and EQ are lower than his and he is teaching me! How frustrating!” Anabelle said angrily while Olivia shook her head.
“What has he told you?”
