Bonus - The Billionaire's friends – Paul and Madison – Eighteen
Paul’s POV
Madison looked up at me with tears in her eyes, and it broke my heart. How did she get to the point that she felt so unworthy of love? I thought that in the past three months of her being away from her father, it would repair some of her confidence, but I guess all the years of trauma need more time to heal. What I do know, though, is I’m not giving up on her. Not now, not ever.
While I was in the car on the way over, I called my parents. I told them the situation and said I wanted to video call them so I could introduce them to the love of my life. They, of course, were ecstatic. My dad said it was about time I stopped being such a whore. My mom, of course, chastised him for his choice of words, but in the end, we all had a good laugh.
Now I’m standing in front of Madison, determined to have her accept my love and for her to become mine officially.
“I think I’m going to go get a latte,” Morgan announced and headed out the door. “I’ll call Dutton to see if there is any news on Amelie as well.”
“Ok, see you in a while, Morgan,” I told her.
“I don’t know why you’re back here, Paul,” Madison said, trying to hold back tears. “I told you that you don’t need to be here.”
“I don’t need to be here, or you don’t WANT me to be here?” I asked her.
Madison turned her head away from me.
“I thought so,” I expressed. “I’m never going to leave you, Madison. As much as you think I will, I’m never leaving.”
“I don’t understand why you would want to stay with someone so… broken,” Madison sighed, lowering her eyes.
I lifted her chin. “Do you think you’re not worthy of my love?” I asked her, staring into her eyes.
“No, but I think you’re worthy of so much more,” she whispered, her voice cracking.
I reached into my bag and pulled out my tablet. “Madison, I want you to meet my parents,” I advised and started a video call.
“What, I can’t, looking like this,” Madison said, shifting in her bed.
“You look beautiful,” I said, sitting on the edge of her bed so we were both in the screen.
The video call was answered, and my parents were sitting together on the back patio of my family's home.
“Hi, Mom and Dad. This is the girl I was telling you about,” I said, smiling.
“Oh, hello, Madison,” my mom beamed. “Paul has told us so much about you. My name is Bernice, but you can call me Mom.”
“Hi, Bern… I mean, Mom,” Madison responded, smiling.
“Hi, Madison, I’m Dennis,” my dad stated.
I looked over at Madison. “He’s not much of a talker,” I joked.
“That’s because your mom never stops talking long enough for me to speak,” Dennis smirked.
Mom hit him on the shoulder. “Oh, Dennis, behave,” Mom scoffed.
“Hi, Dennis, it’s nice to meet you,” Madison expressed.
“Do you want to see some of the house, Madison?” My mom asked. “There are pictures of itty-bitty Paul on the wall…”
“Then absolutely,” Madison declared.
My dad stood up and picked up my mom, and put her in her wheelchair.
Madison looked at me, shocked, then her eyes went back to the screen. My Mom held her tablet and flipped the view as Dad wheeled her around the house. She pointed out rooms and pictures on the walls. Giving commentary on everything.
A nurse walked into the room and advised that they would be taking Madison for an ultrasound in ten minutes.
“Mom, Dad, we need to go,” I stated.
“Ok, Pauly,” Mom said, smiling. “Madison, it was so nice to meet you. I hope you can make it home with Paul to Buffalo for Easter. We would love to meet Paul’s special girl.”
“Thank you for the invite,” Madison said, smiling. “It was really nice meeting you and Dennis.”
Dad waved at us.
“Bye, love you,” I called to them.
“We love you, too,” my Mom said and blew a kiss.
The screen went blank.
“Paul, I had no idea,” Madison voiced.
“I never told you, because it isn’t a big deal,” I informed her. “My family sees her as a mom, wife, and daughter. We don’t label her as handicapped, disabled, or special needs. She’s just my mom. Just like you are the woman I love. I fell in love with what is in here,” I said, pointing to her heart and then her head.
I reached inside my bag, pulled out the photo album, and handed it to her.
“My Mom was there for me through everything,” I stated. “Every swimming event, every holiday, every life goal. She was there for me, smiling proudly, cheering for me, and loving me.”
Madison started flipping through the pages of the album. A huge grin broke out on her face. “Gosh, you were a cute kid,” she smiled.
“Of course I was,” I smirked. “Just think how beautiful our kids will be.”
Madison looked at me, like a deer caught in the headlights.
“Our kids?” Madison said, gulping.
“Yes,” I grinned. “I want to have babies with you.”
“But I can’t…” Madison started to say.
“You can’t carry a baby,” I uttered. “But we can put your eggs in someone else’s basket.”
Madison laughed out loud.
“Now, there is my happy girl,” I said, smiling.
“You’re not going to take no for an answer, are you?” Madison smirked.
“Nope,” I expressed.
“Can we keep going really slow?” Madison asked.
“Yes, we can go as slow as you want,” I assured her.
“Then let’s continue what we were doing before, and see where it goes,” Madison revealed.
I moved towards her, bending down to kiss her. She moaned under the touch of my lips. Yep, I’m willing to wait forever for more of this.
