(Freya's POV).
"Where's my son?" I yelled hysterically as Devan opened the door to his apartment for me. I pushed him roughly and went inside, but he immediately grabbed my hand.
"Vivian."
"WHERE IS MY SON?!" I snapped. I brushed his hand away roughly.
Right now I didn't want to talk nonsense because I was angry and couldn't control myself when I knew Dev had the nerve to take Adam away.
"Vivian, let's talk first."
"I don't want to talk to you!" I shouted. "And stop touching me!"
"Argh," he growled.
I stare at him, swallowing hard, as I accidentally swat his hand away and hit his injured hand. He whimpered in pain, but I had no intention of apologizing or checking on his condition.
My anger was greater than my sympathy. This was all because Devan had gone too far.
"You better not bother me again, Dev. Or you'll get hurt even more than you already are," I threatened. I glared at him, but he just looked at me with a pair of black eyes that dimmed.
"Adam is sleeping in my room," he replied, changing our conversation.
"Look, if you do anything like this again, I swear, I will call the police and ask them to throw you in jail!" I shouted, "I mean what I say, Dev. So, stop bothering me, especially Adam. Because I will never let anyone hurt him or take him away from me."
"I never thought of doing any of that, Vivian." he tried to grab my hand, but I stepped back to avoid him.
"Yes, you are!" I snapped. "Who do you think you are to take my son away without my consent, huh? Who do you think you are?!" I scolded. My eyes bulged. My hands were clenched into fists. “Are you his father?!”
I was so angry. I lost control and burst into tears as I screamed at him. My chest felt so tight that I could hardly breathe.
For nine months I carried Adam with all the problems I faced alone. With feelings of hurt, devastation, and stress I wondered if I should end my life with the baby in my belly.
I didn't have anyone I could turn to for help. Working like crazy just to survive. Being insulted, ostracized, and even abused made my life even more bitter. Every day I lived a life like hell.
Giving birth and raising my child alone without a husband beside me. The pain I felt during this time could not be replaced by anything. Not even an apology from him. And now he suddenly appeared and tore my life apart like this.
I will never let him.
Either he comes into my life or he knows the truth about my identity.
"Vivian, listen to me first."
"I told you not to touch me, Dev! How many times do I have to tell you that I don't like you? Are you deaf?"
"I can see from your eyes that you love me too."
"I don't!" I smiled wryly. "The only one who knows how I feel is me. And don't act like you know me so well because you're just a stranger who suddenly showed up and disrupted my life!"
"Vivian..."
"Please... I've never done anything wrong to you, Dev," I pleaded, "if I have, I apologize. But please, stop interfering in our lives. I just want to live my life in peace." I wiped my tears with the back of my hand.
Even though I was living my life as Vivian, I still had to feel pain because of Devan.
"Should I kneel to beg you not to bother me anymore?" I whimpered.
"Do you have to act like this? You hate me so much that you asked Adam to stay away from me?" he asked, "I know I was wrong because I approached you because you look like my wife, but that was just a moment."
"I didn't hate you at first, but this attitude of yours made me start to hate you, Dev," I cut him off.
"Mom?" I immediately turned around when I saw Adam coming out while wiping his tears. I guess he woke up because he heard us arguing. I ran straight to him and hugged him tightly.
"Adam, oh my...."
"Mom, are you crying?" I smiled as I saw Adam's expression turn sad. He touched my cheeks with his warm hands.
I shook my head. "No, I'm not. I'm just covered in dust," I lied. I smiled as he wiped away my tears.
"Mom, let's have dinner here. Dev said he's going toー"
"No. We have to go home," I cut him off quickly.
"But why?"
"It's late, Adam. Devan needs his rest. And don't bother him again," I insisted. I stood up and took his hand, "come on."
"Alright." He lowered his face. Not at all excited when I asked him out of Devan's apartment.
"Vivian, please," he grabbed my wrist. Grasping it tightly.
"Can you let go of my hand? Don't make me hate you more, Dev," I whispered.
"I beg you ... I just want us to talk about all this with a cool head. I know youー"
"I reiterate that I don't love you and I never will," I cut him off. Insisting on my answer. My eyes stared at her intently. "And if I do decide to get a relationship again, it won't be you, Dev. Because I already have a man I love."
"You're lying, right? You said it would only push me away, but I'll never give up."
"I'm not lying. And I want to marry him. So, stop bothering me again. I beg you….”
