(Freya's POV).
When Adam and I arrived home, I was confused by the strange car parked in the yard. When we went inside, I saw Silvanna hurrying towards me.
"Miss Freya."
"What's wrong? Are there any guests?" I asked her.
"Yes. There is a woman who has been waiting for you," she said.
"A woman?" I furrowed my brow, confused.
"Yes. She is currently in the living room."
"I'll see her. Silvanna, please help Adam to change his clothes," I said.
"Okay."
I watched Silvanna take Adam up to the second floor while I went to the living room to check who was meeting me at this time of night.
Just then, I saw Viona. She was standing there looking around my house. I was surprised that she knew my house and wondered why she had come to see me.
"You're finally home," she said as she crossed her arms over her chest and walked over to me. Her facial expression looked unhappy. "I'm sure you remember who I am," she said.
"Yeah, I remember you," I said, "what are you doing here at night?" I asked.
"Stay away from Devan and never appear in his presence again," she said in a stern tone. Her eyes narrowed sharply.
I could only remain silent without saying anything when she told me to stay away from Devan. From the start, I never intended to approach him because he was the one who did it. Even the first time we met, I was surprised to see him at the auction held by my family. As long as I lived as Vivian, I tried not to meet Devan.
"Look, it seems like you misunderstood. You should have said that to Devan, not to me," I said irritably, "because, from the beginning, he was the one who was bothering me. Soー"
"You bitch!" I gasped in shock as she suddenly slapped my face so hard that I squealed in pain.
I looked at her with my eyes widened. I felt a sting on my cheek that I'm sure must have left a redness. I touched it, it was hot and throbbing.
"W-what did you just do?" I stammered. I couldn't believe she dared to slap me again.
"Slapping a slut who dares to interfere with my lover," she said, "I won't stand by and watch you try to get close to Devan because I'll never let you. Whether you look like Freya or not, Devan can only be mine."
I was annoyed by her accusation. "I never approached Devan!"
"Oh, really? You think I don't know you've been staying at his apartment? You're wagging your tail and using your similar face to his ex-wife to get close to him, right?"
"You're crazy," I whispered, cursing her, "I don't know what you think of me, but I'm not interested in a relationship with Devan at all. Moreover, you should have asked your beloved why he's always bothering me."
"You think I believe you?"
"I don't care whether you believe me or not. One more thing, if you dare to slap me again, I'll do the same to you."
She laughed, making me furrow my brow.
"You think I'm scared?" she said as she stared intently at me. "Look, I'm going to make this clear to you. I'm going to marry Devan. The only woman who will marry him is me. No other woman is allowed. So, if I ever see you around Devan again, I will make sure to do something more heinous than a slap."
I sighed heavily. Why has my life become so messy since I met Devan? The terror problem, now Viona, then what else will happen to me next?
I'm already tired enough of thinking about all the problems because the guy who terrorized me still hasn't been caught and now, I have to deal with Viona.
This was stressing me out.
"I understand," I said, "I'll never see Devan again, so I hope we'll never see each other either."
"Well, I wouldn't like to meet a slut like you either."
"Stop calling me a slut!"
"You are a slut."
"You...."
"Vivian?" I immediately looked back when I heard Tristan's voice. He walked up to me with an annoyed face.
"Tristan."
"What's going on? Who is she?" he asked. I grabbed Tristan's hand as he stared intently at Viona.
"Oh, just a guest."
"I hope you remember what I told you, Vivian. Or I willー"
"I know," I cut her off quickly. Afraid that Tristan might hear it.
Viona left without saying anything else. While Tristan continued to stare in the direction of her departure. I told him to sit on the sofa.
"Tristan, why did you come without telling me first? What are you doing here at night?"
"Who was that woman? She looks... oh, shit! What happened to your cheek?" he immediately covered my face and I groaned in pain as Viona's slap marks were touched by Tristan.
"I'm fine."
"Did she slap you?!" he snapped at me with his heavy, loud voice.
"No, I...."
"Tell me the truth," he insisted.
I looked at him with a long sigh. "It's just a misunderstanding. She thinks I'm trying to take Devan away from her," I said.
She groaned in annoyance. "Didn't I tell you to stay away from him? I told you he's not a nice guy, but you didn't listen to me!"
"No, that's a misunderstanding. I didn't approach him, Tristan."
"Next time, if that woman or Devan bothers you again, let me know right away. And if I ever see you with that bastard again, I'll kick his ass. Do you understand?"
I was stunned by Tristan's words. I saw him so angry for the first time just because I was close to a man.
