Chapter 103
Thorn sighed, remembering his little Cinnamon. Speaking of which, he had been roaming the house, but his daughter was nowhere to be found. She just left him in the living room to make a little snack for him before lunch. When he didn't find his daughter inside the house, he took out his phone from his pocket to check her location. Yes, he's tracking his own daughter. It was a gift—a bracelet—from Sweet Monday to secure Thassia's safety. And that safety bracelet was upgraded by Phoenix as a form of gift as well. Now, it's not only a tracking device but a distress signal device as well.
According to the location on his phone, Thassia was in SM's café.
How the hell did she get there? Later in the afternoon, her daughter's nanny will come in because she is now Thassia's guard. Her husband is busy because his parents are training him to manage their business because they don't expect anything from him. Thorn was sure that Thassia would never leave their house alone, so who took her?
Thorn almost ran out of the house and headed for the garage, then drove the car out of BV, towards SM's café.
As soon as he stopped the car in the cafe's parking lot, he immediately saw his son smiling widely while sitting at a cafe table and happily talking to the person in front of him.
Thorn let out a sigh of relief when he saw who was with his daughter. It was Cassiuz. But his relief was short-lived; he became pissed, remembering how Cassiuz took his daughter without even informing him!
Thorn got out of the car angrily and entered the café. His blood was boiling because of so much worry, but when he got close to the two's table, Thassia immediately jumped out of his chair to rush him in for a hug.
"No!"
Thorn stopped in his tracks and cussed when he immediately softened. Fuck! I have to be strict! but one look at his daughter giving him a puppy dog face was enough to melt his anger away.
Didi, are you still angry?" Thassia asked adorably while tilting her head to the side, like Cassia sometimes does.
thorn sighed heavily, so she knew that I was angry; that was why she immediately softened me. What a sly kid. "Nope." He carried the child. "Not anymore."
"Hey!" Thassia happily hugged his neck and whispered in his ear. "Because Didi Cassiuz kidnapped me, Didi."
Thorn secretly winced. "Did you get kidnapped, or did you get kidnapped?"
Thassia just giggled before kissing his cheek. "I love you, Didi."
Thorn secretly shook his head and then sat down where his son had been sitting. He had his son sit on one of his legs before facing Cassiuz. "How dare you kidnap my daughter?
Cassius snorted. "Kidnap, my ass. I feel like I paid a ransom instead."
Thorn looked down at his son. "Baby, did you ask Didi Cassiuz to give you money again?"
Thassia smiled widely at Thorn's question, then excitedly opened the zipper of the sling bag she was carrying and proudly showed her the many thousand dollars inside. "See, Didi? Didi Cassiuz is smart, isn't he? He gave me so much money this time. All the money in his wallet, he took it—I mean, he gave it to me." Then he gave Cassiuz a flying kiss. "I love you, Didi Cassiuz."
Cassiuz smiled, but it was a tight, weary smile. "Welcome, baby. Anything for my little princess."
Thassia smiled smugly, like she was proud, then left his lap to play inside the café's playground. But before he left, he gave him the sling bag he was carrying and told him to keep a close eye on it.
Thorn shook his head as his eyes followed his son, who was now playing with SM and Knight's youngest child, Mint.
Cassiuz's shoulders slumped as Thassia left. "Damn. Your daughter emptied my wallet."
Thorn leaned back on the chair he was sitting on. "You mean your niece?"
Cassiuz tsked and whined. "Every time I visit, she will empty my wallet."
"Then tell her not to," Thorn said, then shrugged. "She's not unreasonable. If you tell her not to ask money from you, she would never do it again.
"That's the point! She would never do it again, meaning I won't be her favorite Uncle Didi anymore!" Cassiuz exclaimed in an overly dramatic manner.
Thorn laughed softly. "Who would have thought that my daughter could emotionally blackmail a badass member of the Ultor's Court?
Cassius tsked. "She's so cute..." He sighed. "How did she become a money-loving child?"
Thorn shrugged. "Beat me."
Cassiuz glared at Thorn. "What do you mean 'beats me'? I'm sure she got it from you. My little sister is an innocent, sweet woman, unlike you, who's rude and a bad person.
"So you're saying that your niece is a bad girl?"
Cassiuz opened his mouth to defend himself, but no words came out of it. Cassiuz was speechless, and it took him a couple of seconds before he was able to pull himself together. "That's not what I meant! My cute little niece is adorable and not evil like you."
"Hm-mm," Thorn hummed, not believing Cassiuz.
"Fuck you!" Cassiuz cussed at Thorn.
Thorn just chuckled and turned his head to look at his daughter, who was wrestling with Mint on the playground. Thorn just sighed when he saw his son losing in wrestling but still fighting. His son is also stubborn. If Jacques had not separated the two who were Mint's guards, Mint and Thassia would not have been separated while wrestling.
But you know what was funny? After they stopped wrestling each other, they went back to playing like nothing happened.
Thorn blinked at the sight, then sighed again. "Sometimes... I feel like my daughter is a lunatic too."
Cassiuz looked down. "She's adorable though—anyway, how's my sister doing? I asked her to meet up earlier, but she said she's busy..."
Thorn turned his attention back to his brother-in-law. "She's training under my parents. She's the only one capable enough to continue our family's business since I'm not an option."
"How's her partner taking it?" Cassius asked. "Their business just expanded, right?"
Thorn shrugged. "Zehan's been cursing a lot these days, but she's supporting Cassia, so she's doing everything she can to help out."
Thorn and Cassiuz's conversation was interrupted when Thassia returned to their table. He was carrying a cupcake that he was eating while walking near their table. Then he raised his legs to sit there and quietly finished the cupcake he was holding.
and then a few moments later, Thassia jumped down from Thorn's lap to run towards SM, who had just entered the café.
"Mimi SM!" Thassia shouted at SM while hugging his thigh.
SM laughed, then bent down so that their faces were even. "Someone's lively," SM commented, then gently ruffled Thassia's hair. "What is it? You need anything, little Thassia?"
Thassia nodded while grinning. "Not really. I just want to say hi, but since Mimi SM asked, then I want money."
