Chapter 102
With that confirmation from her husband, a tear fell from Cassia's eyes as she looked back at Cassiuz, who looked calm from the outside, but there was actually chaos inside him. Cassiuz was questioning himself about whether it was a good idea, seeing how his sister was reacting. Cassia was ready to apologize when Cassia spoke.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Cassia's voice was soft and sweet, and it made Cassiuz hope that maybe his sister wasn't mad.
So Cassiuz explained, "When we got separated on the day of the accident, a very nice couple adopted me, but this nice couple has a dangerous job that has been passed down to me. I don't want to endanger you by claiming you as my sibling, but your husband suggested that I don't have to announce it to the world that we are siblings; knowing that we are and being together as siblings were enough, he said."
Cassia looked at her husband, who was still playing with her son's cheek, before looking back at Cassiuz. "You knew all along?"
Cassiuz nodded.
Cassia let out a sigh. "That's why you've been nice to me."
"Well, you are my little sister," Cassiuz said.
Even though Cassia was still confused with so many questions, that made her smile and get emotional. "I have a family."
"You do," Cassiuz said firmly before glancing at Thorn. "Him."
"No"—Cassia shook her head—"I mean, aside from my husband, I have a family—a brother... I thought I was alone. When I lost my sister, I felt so alone. To have no family that I can call my own, I kept wishing for someone... I didn't know that I already had that someone... you."
Cassiuz had to take deep breaths to control his emotions. "I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself immediately. I was scared to drag you into my world."
Cassia shook her head while drying her wet cheeks, then smiled at her sister. "It's better late than never, Brother." Cassia's wet cheeks were dry, but her tears started to fall again. "You're really my brother. When I called you brother the first time, I was happy. Now, I'm overwhelmed with so much happiness."
Cassiuz stood up from where he was sitting to approach his younger brother. He was about to hug Cassia when she dodged.
"Please don't..." Cassia stopped her sister. "I don't smell good. I just gave birth. I smell like sweat and something else."
Cassiuz just laughed and then hugged Cassia, even though Cassia stopped it.
"Silly little sister," Cassiuz said affectionately while hugging Cassia and caressing her hair. "Hey, little sister?" Cassiuz called his brother while still hugging him.
"Hmm?" Cassia answered.
"After you recover, let's visit our parents."
Cassia was stunned. "Visit? Do you know where they are buried?"
Cassiuz let go of Cassia before nodding. "Yeah. Thorn's parents took really good care of them."
Cassia looked at her husband. "Your parents?"
Thorn finally interrupted the conversation, saying, "They were close friends, your mom and my mom, so they took care of everything after my parents learned about the accident. My mom didn't know that her best friend had a second child, so she didn't look for you, and she felt very sorry and guilty for that."
Cassia immediately shook her head. "She didn't need to feel guilty. It's fine. Mom has done nothing but care and dote on me even before I became your wife. I'm grateful."
Thorn smiled. "Mom will be very happy if she hears that."
"I'll tell her," said Cassia.
Thorn nodded before looking at Cassiuz. "Now that you've already finished confessing, leave. Let my wife rest."
Cassiuz's face immediately changed. "You rude bastard—" Cassiuz stopped swearing at Thorn when he saw that Thorn handed him a key.
"Here's the key to my house," said Thorn. "Stay there while you're here. I think we'll be home in a few days. My wife would be very happy with you there."
Cassiuz froze before accepting the key.
Cassia folded her hands and smiled sweetly. "I'm so happy that you two are getting along. Be nice to each other, okay? Or I'll be very sad."
Both Cassiuz and Thorn secretly winced before forcing a sweet smile at Cassia.
I'd rather throw this bastard out. I don't want an oversized puppy in my house. Thorn thought to himself.
While Cassiuz was thinking, being forced to be nice to this rude jerk was the same as trying to be nice to a Triad member. Impossible! How can I kill him without making my sister sad?
The two were having those thoughts while smiling sweetly at Cassia, who was oblivious to Thorn's and Cassiuz's dark thoughts. "Treat each other nicely, okay? You're brothers-in-law after all."
Hearing the words brothers-in-law, Thorn and Cassiuz grimaced in secret and hid their bitter smiles. The two were thinking that they had to endure... since it's for Cassia, the woman they both love, as a wife for Thorn and as a little sister for Cassiuz.
They are indeed a family, but no one says that you're not allowed to hate one of your family members.

Thorn didn't know if his daughter was an innocent cinnamon or if Thassia was a sly one. At the age of five, he still couldn't decipher if she was a little princess or a little devil—but he was leaning towards a little devil. Sincerely, he was scared of his little Cinnamon sometimes. Cinnamon and I don't look like millionaires, but why is our only child like this?
Before Thassia came into their lives, he and his Cinnamon were planning to settle on an island away from the village because his Cinnamon likes the sea, but after having Thassia, their plan changed. Fortunately, he has not yet paid for the island that Shun found for him. Why has their plan changed? That's because of their little Cinnamon. When she was just a newborn baby, they immediately knew how much Thassia hated the sun and heat. It doesn't want to be in the sun. It cries constantly every morning when Cassia takes it out to sunbathe.
And when Thassia was two years old, she didn't want to leave the house because, according to her, 'it's hot outside'. Thankfully, when she reached four, she gradually started going out, and that's because she found a new hobby—if it can be called a hobby.
Thassia—his now five-year-old daughter—loves money. And she didn't like small bills; she didn't like coins either. She liked the colors yellow and blue. At the age of five, he had already opened a separate account for his daughter, where he stored all the money she accumulated from her godparents and from other lunatics she swindled.
Yes, that's the right term—swindled. She was using her baby powers to swindle the lunatics. I don't even know what that baby power is, but it always works on me.
