Chapter 100
After setting everything in Ultor's court, Cassiuz took a leave to visit his little sister, who was pregnant and already in labor. It was not really advisable for a member of the Ultor's court to take a leave, but he had half the members' consent, making it a valid leave of absence.
And of course, one of Ultor's court members who had massive connections, Thanatos, accompanied him, making it a semi-official visit.
and now they're on a private plane bound for the Philippines.
"So, you finally decided to tell your sister the truth?"
Cassiuz nodded at Thanatos' question. "My adoptive parents urged me to do so."
Thanatos nodded. "Family is important after all."
Cassiuz looked at one of the most ruthless members of Ultor's court. "You just found your family as well, right?"
Thanatos nodded before a soft smile grazed his lips, surprising Cassiuz because Thanatos doesn't smile. "I'm glad I found them, and they accepted me."
Cassiuz sighed and looked outside the plane's window. "I hope she accepts me too."
"Why not?"
Cassius sighed again. "She doesn't really know me. I mean, she doesn't remember me. She was too young when we got separated, and I'm not sure if she'll have familial love for me."
hearing Cassiuz, Thanatos could relate. His little sister didn't remember her at all at first, but they are now starting to remember. "I'm sure she'll love you. Just show her your sincerity."
Cassiuz laughed softly at Thanatos' advice. "I never thought I'd receive that soft advice from you."
Thanatos just shrugged coolly before leaning back in his seat and closing his eyes. While Cassiuz did the same. He closed his eyes and tried to rest.
He needed to be at his full strength to face his little sister, and of course, before that, he had to talk to the queen, the one who steers the organization he was part of in the right direction—the one who decides everything. Even the second archon, who's controlling the inside of the Organósi, answers to that woman they revered as queen.
The ride from Athens to the Philippines was long and tedious; thankfully, they arrived in less than 24 hours. When they exited the airport, Cassiuz was greeted by his butler, who left before him to prepare everything before he arrived.
Where to, my lord? "His butler, Alec, asked when they were already inside the car.
Cassius took a deep breath. "Bachelor's Village. I have an appointment with the queen."
Alec nodded before driving.
On the way to BV, Cassiuz was just looking outside, passing the time, when his butler spoke.
"After this visit, you'll be very busy again, my lord."
Cassiuz just grunted in response.
"What are you going to do with the marriage proposal from the Georgiou family, my lord? Alec asked again.
"The madam called me this morning; she wanted you to accept the marriage proposal."
Cassius sighed. "I'm not my little sister. I don't like marriage for convenience."
"Do you want me to inform the lady?" The madame Alec was talking about was Cassiuz's adoptive Cassiuz shook his head. "Please tell her."
Alec nodded. "I don't think they will force you, but the Georgiou family is one of the most influential families in Athens. It might be hard for you to refuse them, my lord."
Cassius shrugged. "I'll think of something." Then Cassiuz remembered what his brother-in-law did when he just got married to Cassia. "Or I could pretend that I'm gay."
Alec chuckled. "That could work, but I think they will still push it."
Cassiuz blows a loud and annoyed breath. "Fuck. Why do they want me anyway?"
Alec glanced at his boss knowingly. "You are of the Savvaz family, my lord. You came from an old money—a gentry. Of course they want you as their son-in-law so they can build connections and raise their power."
Cassiuz wanted to roll his eyes, but he was too bored to even try. "Sucks for them. I won't marry for convenience."
"Is it because of Lady Zehannah?" Alec asked coolly. "She's a very exquisite lady."
Hearing his butler, Cassiuz chuckled. "Zehannah? An exquisite lady?" He scoffed. "You'll be shocked how badass and vulgar that woman is, but her vulgarity and no-filter mouth are kind of refreshing, I admit. It makes her fun to hang out with. But Zehannah as my girlfriend? I don't think so. That woman is scared of commitment, and I don't think I'm the guy who could change her mind."
Alec had seen Zehannah and Cassiuz go out on dates and hang out, so Alec knew how charming the lady was. "Does she like someone else?"
Cassiuz smiled while looking out the car's window. He didn't answer, even though he knew the answer to his butler's question. He kept his mouth shut until they arrived in BV.
Upon entering the village, their car and IDs were checked, and the security had to call the person they were visiting for approval. But even though there was a lot to do just to get in, it didn't take long.
They were immediately let in and escorted by the guard riding a golf cart to the house of their target.
After they arrived in front of the queen's house and were received by the queen's butler, Marquess Jacques Sotelo, that was the only time that the security guard left.
"The queen?" Cassiuz asked.
The Marquess gestured at the door.
"Inside. She's waiting."
"Thank you."
Alec entered with Cassiuz, but Alec remained standing when they arrived in the living room while Cassiuz took a seat.
"Your highness," Cassiuz greeted Sweet Monday respectfully.
SM smiled. "There is no need to be so formal."
SM sounded so kind, but Cassiuz was still cautious. He knew what this woman could do; offending her meant courting death, and he was going to ask for a favor, so he had to be really nice.
"So-SM still had that sweet, kind smile on her lips.
"What can I do for you? Are you here as Cassiuz or as Kratos?"
"Cassiuz," he answered.
SM nodded. "Then your visit must be because of Cassia. Correct me if I'm wrong."
Cassiuz shook his head. "You're right. I wanted to ask for a favor."
"Go on! SM urged him.
Cassiuz took a deep breath before speaking. "I'd been thinking about this for quite some time now, and I finally decided to tell my sister that we're siblings and that I'm not just Thorn's friend. But even though I've decided that, I'm still afraid that I might get her into trouble, so I'll be thick-skinned and ask you to grant my sister protection. I'll do anything you ask in return.
As a member of Ultor's court, I have enemies inside and outside of the organization, and I don't want those people to use my sister to get to me. I couldn't protect her before, but I want to protect her now in my own way."
Hearing what he said, Cassiuz observed that the queen seemed pleased, which made him hope for a favorable answer.
