Chapter 161 Family Pressure

Chapter 161 Family Pressure

Since she couldn't make headway with Henry, Luna decided to approach from Sophia's side! Despite being a respectable family themselves, the Brown family wouldn't care about their reputation.

And Sophia was their biological daughter—they would surely step in to discipline her properly.

When the housekeeper announced Luna's arrival, Drew and Bianca were both surprised and delighted, hastily straightening their clothes and personally going to the front door to receive her.

They assumed this meant the Windsor family had finally recognized Elora's worth, or perhaps were willing to support the Brown family. Their faces were full of eager smiles.

However, Luna entered the living room without even sitting down, simply using her well-maintained eyes to coldly survey the Brown Villa's decor with unconcealed contempt.

Her expensive, custom-tailored suit and jewelry formed a stark contrast with the Brown Villa's somewhat outdated furnishings.

"Mrs. Luna Windsor, what an honor to have you grace our home! Please, please have a seat," Drew said, rubbing his hands together with a fawning tone.

Only then did Luna elegantly take a seat in the main chair, spine straight, posture haughty.

She dispensed with pleasantries, cutting straight to the point with an icy tone carrying undeniable pressure, "Mr. Brown, Mrs. Brown, I'm here about your daughter, Sophia."

Drew and Bianca's hearts sank, their smiles freezing on their faces.

Luna continued, "I don't know how you raise your daughter. Sophia's a divorced woman with no sense of propriety or shame, constantly using underhanded tactics to entangle my son, Henry. She has him so bewitched that he's even willing to fire the people I properly placed by his side!"

Her voice rose, carrying obvious anger and accusation, "Henry's future wife must be from a respectable family, with a pristine reputation! Sophia is just a divorced woman cast out by the Miller family! What right does she have to aspire to the Windsor family? And on what basis do you think she can marry into the Windsor family?"

This barrage of questions hit Drew and Bianca like resounding slaps across their faces.

Their faces instantly turned ashen, especially Bianca, whose fingers twisted together nervously.

The overwhelming humiliation made their cheeks sting, but facing Luna's domineering attitude and the Windsor family's overwhelming power, they didn't dare show even a hint of displeasure, let alone argue back.

Cold sweat beaded on Drew's forehead as he hastily bowed, his tone humble as he explained, "Mrs. Windsor, please calm down! Please!"

They didn't dare harbor any resentment toward Luna, so all that anger and frustration naturally transferred entirely to Sophia.

It was all Sophia! If she hadn't shamelessly gone after Henry, how would they have suffered such disgrace?

It wasn't enough for her to embarrass herself—she had to drag the entire Brown family down with her, earning Luna's contempt, destroying Elora's potential connection to the Windsor family, and possibly inviting the Windsor family's retaliation!

Drew's face turned pale, but he ultimately forced a smile, repeatedly assuring Luna, "Mrs. Windsor, don't worry! We'll definitely handle this matter! It's our fault for not raising our daughter properly and causing trouble for you and Mr. Henry Windsor! We'll strictly discipline Sophia and absolutely won't let her harass Mr. Henry Windsor again—I guarantee it!"

Bianca quickly chimed in, "Yes, yes, Mrs. Windsor! We'll educate her immediately, make her know her place, and stay away from Mr. Henry Windsor! We absolutely won't let her tarnish the Windsor family's reputation again!"

Luna looked at them, who was submissive, angry, but afraid to retort, the contempt in her eyes growing even stronger.

She snorted coldly, no longer bothering to look at the pale-faced Drew and Bianca, and left the Brown Villa with her head held high, just as haughtily as when she'd arrived.

After seeing Luna off, the Brown Villa's living room fell into deathly silence. The anger and shame they'd suppressed now erupted like volcanoes in Drew and Bianca's hearts.

"Damn that Sophia!" Drew suddenly kicked the coffee table, the expensive furniture making a loud crash. "She's completely disgraced the Brown family, actually provoking Mrs. Windsor to personally come and condemn us!"

Bianca also trembled with rage, her voice shrill, "I've always said she was bad luck! Ever since she came back, there's been no peace in this house. Now, she's completely offended the Windsor family! How can the Brown family show its faces in society anymore? Elora's future is ruined because of her!"

All their fury, unable to be directed at Luna or the Windsor family, found its sole outlet and surged toward Sophia.

Sophia was in her office handling documents when her phone rang, Bianca's name flashing on the screen.

She frowned slightly, sensing trouble. Since her divorce, her family has rarely contacted her except occasionally about company shares.

She answered the call with a distant tone, "What is it?"

Drew's anger-suppressed voice came through the phone, "Go home, right now!"

Sophia's tone remained unchanged, "I'm at work and very busy. Whatever it is, say it over the phone."

"Work? What work! Do you even care about this family anymore?" Drew's voice suddenly rose, carrying obvious anger and an unquestionable tone. "I'm telling you to come back right now, do you hear me! Don't make me send people to Windsor Group to fetch you!"

Sophia's eyes turned cold. Something had clearly happened, and it was most likely related to the Windsor family.

She remained silent for several seconds, then said coldly, "Fine."

After hanging up, she gave her assistant a few instructions and drove to the Brown Villa.

The moment she entered the mansion's front door, the oppressive atmosphere hit her. Drew and Bianca both sat on the living room sofa with grim expressions.

Seeing her enter, Drew shot up from the sofa and pointed at her nose, shouting, "Get over here!"

Before Sophia could steady herself, Drew raised his hand and swung it toward her face with a whoosh!

Sophia had been prepared and nimbly stepped back, easily dodging the slap, her gaze instantly turning icy, "What are you doing?"

"What am I doing? I'm going to beat you to death, you shameless creature!"

Drew's missed slap made him even more furious, his chest heaving violently with rage. "Mrs. Windsor came to our door personally today! She said you've been seducing her son and pestering him relentlessly, completely disgracing the Brown family! How did the Brown family produce such a shameless daughter!"

Bianca also chimed in with sarcastic remarks, her tone full of blame and accusation, "Exactly! Elora finally had a chance to connect with the Windsor family, hoping she could help our family, and what do you do? You're divorced, yet you go and chase after Henry, making Mrs. Windsor angry. Do you want to destroy the Brown family?"
