Twenty Three
Twenty Three
SOPHIA'S POV
What insult did I just get from that thing? My lashes kept fluttering until she left the room. I had so many ways to react to that but all because of Liam I chose to stay calm.
"It is just a matter of time buddy, you will be licking my butts." I walked out of the house and drove away to my house.
I could see the look on her face when I was driving away, Elara couldn't hinder me from getting what I want so she is the least thing I can never worry about now. I should be thinking about something else rather than worrying about that.
I got back home to see Victor making a call that didn't sound very pleasant.
As much as I wanted to interrupt him and let him explain what was going on, I let him finish.
"Where did you think of going without telling anyone?" He sounded annoyed and worried at the same time.
I got inside the house and patiently waited for him to come in and explain what the problem was.
"Look, El..." He paused...
"Hello, hello." Victor barged into the room and threw the phone on the couch, it fell to the floor.
"What do I not know?" I asked calmly while I poured my wine into the glass.
"Well, where have you been?" Victor asked rudely, his eyes piercing into my soul.
"Excuse me?"
Just to be clear that I wasn't hearing the wrong question, I leaned forward and lent my ears to hear properly.
"Yes, I asked a question. Where have you been? Why do you leave me to handle this alone when you want to benefit from it too?" He was breathing like someone who was being chased down.
I got so annoyed that I laughed at first, I just want to believe that he was talking recklessly out of annoyance and didn't mean any of those questions he asked.
"Victor? I don't get you? What are you trying to do?" My arms were opened in confusion, while my eyes wandered into his eyes searching for what exactly would make him speak to me that way.
"Oh please stop with all these innocent questions and speak. We cannot find Elara, where do you think she has gone to? How will we handle the situation if she is with Liam?"
Victor threw unnecessary questions at me and I got so pissed.
"Now how does all of this affect me? Was I supposed to be a watchdog here to know where she went?"
Victor's eyes sharpened, he looked at me in annoyance. His hands folded into a fist.
"Shut the fuck up!"
"Oh please, you do not tell me what the fuck to do. You ain't paying my bills and you would never." I screamed in anger.
My voice was shaky because of how I tried to breath while talking.
"Ohh, you speak to me that way? Your best friend is missing and we do not know where she is, we are to follow her every step so we don't......."
"We? What's it with the we, we, we, stuff. Now look, I have only one goal and I have only one thing to help you with and that is to not let Elara think otherwise of us . I don't have to follow her everywhere like I'm some sort of fly." I warned him so badly.
"Really?"
"Yes. Now if you don't mind I had a long day and I need to rest. You can go around and Fuck yourself to sleep because that's what you do "
Victor grabbed my wrist and twisted it so hard I winced in pain.
"What are you doing?" I managed to speak while in pain.
"You dare not speak to me that way again, I can pull you out and get myself away. She will know that you are the worst friend anyone could think of having." His words cut deep into my head.
Was I sensing betrayal from a corner? Was Victor going to do it?
I laughed. "You think it's easy to do it? Wait until I tell Liam how much you love Elara." I bit my lower lips.
"You psycho bitch." He pushed me away from the way and released my wrist.
"What? Are you afraid? So easy?" I smiled mischievously.
"Sophia, if only you knew how dangerous it is for Elara to be outside there and none of us knows where she is, you wouldn't be doing all this." He shook his head and attempted to walk away.
"So that's what made you get mad while on call?" I asked, trying so hard not to think of the sentence he made a few minutes ago.
"Not really, the people I asked to search. Didn't come up with any results and she isn't picking up my calls." He answered and slammed the door.
I watched Victor lament into his car and drive away.
She will know that you are the worst friend anyone could think of having..... Those words stick right into my head.
I may have forgiven him but who knows what he will think about next, I don't want to think about that.
"I have to watch my back. These bitches ain't playing." I sighed and sat on the bed
I was finally able to pull my gown after the long trip. I didn't get the chance to take this silky thing off my body.
"Today wasn't a good day. I got ignored but Liam, insulted by his maid and threatened by Victor. Wow! That is something I should be worried about." I tried to straighten my wrist while looking at the mirror.
So, Elara.
"Where would you be?" I thought aloud.
Victor was actually speaking facts but in the wrong manner. He was speaking like if he spoke calmer I wouldn't listen or I wouldn't want to help him.
Jesus Christ, this man is really getting on my nerves.
I wished I could work Solo. I really wish.
