Chapter 47-Fall in The Trap
I don't know what to feel about this invitation sitting in front of me. It was too fancy and screamed the righteousness of the celebrant; I can't believe I was invited. And to sum it all up, how can he invite me to this with the Luna as his date? Is he making a fool out of me? Or is this some trap he executed very well? What if he invited me to this event so he could get what he wanted? So he could put me into a serious situation I could not escape? I am worried. Worried sick, even.
I don't want to show up, but at the same time, maybe this could be the only time for me to find Cassius. We had no interactions for a couple of days already, and I am certain he'll show up here. I need to clear up our misunderstanding.
After waking up alone the last day after getting drunk and wasted, I don't know what actually happened. I just felt some leftover heat all over my body and saw thousands of hickeys all over my skin. They were too red, and I also had some bruises on my wrist, as if it was tied into each other. I also saw my panties scattered around as I was wrapped in a blanket. I can't remember anything, but I surely did something I would regret later.
My body's still sore, and I can't help but to rethink all the words and sentences Gael told me. I know I am no longer a virgin, and I am surprised he sensed it. The problem is I am not sure who laid their fingers on me. I just wish Gael believed my lies, or else I would have to confess that I slept with someone I don't know. I can remember hearing the sound of an unbuckling belt that night. Necktie was loosened, and his voice was familiar. However, hearing it waste distorted the voice.
I could no longer recognize him, and I'm afraid he's someone I know. What would happen if I slept with Kairo instead of sleeping with Cassius, and him inviting me to his birthday party today would expose that? Please, no, I would never allow that! Now, I should get going and prepare for this. If he would expose that thing, I am sure I can prevent it once I show up and negotiate with him. All I had to do was try to sway him; I opened the closet and searched for a dress. I should be presentable. Otherwise, I wouldn't be accepted inside. The invitation says that I should be formal, so I would. I wore a tight black satin dress and a backless one. It has a slit on the left side, exposing my legs very well. My delicate skin was so visible that I had to get a coat and would probably wear it later. I pulled out a pair of black sandals with glitters, which surprisingly looked so good to pair with my dress.
They match each other very well, and I love how it sits on my feet. There is also a self-tie piece of glittery cloth on the sandals that matched my dress's backless lace, which made me want to ramp the match right now. I loosen my hair and prepare to get it to wrap up. I curled it a little to make a good look out of it and wore something like a hairpin with many pearls. I ensured that my hair pins would be clearly shown and that my collarbone would be exposed on my left side. My hickeys were showing pretty well, and I didn't know what to do.
Instead, I pulled some concealer out of my makeup kit and tried concealing everything so I would be of no flaws. Then, I realized I looked like the man who moved me showed literally no mercy and claimed me as his vigorously.
Unfortunately, I wanted it to be the most passionate night I have ever had, but it turned out not to be; I don’t want to think about it. After hiding everything in a piece of makeup, I now work on my face. Actually, there is no such thing as flaws and scars on my face. All I had to do was to match my glittery fit and try putting on minimal makeup. I worked hard on my face and highlighted my eyes a little too much. I put on nude makeup and a brown one. It matched very well with my skin color, and the application was so smooth; I love how it sits on me. I pulled out a soft and glam makeup look using all my glitters. I put on some pink blush to look colorful and some red lipstick to hide my paleness.
This illness really made me look like a living corpse and a gothic girl. I wonder if Cassius would notice me looking like a sick woman once he sees me. Will he even care? Why am I hoping to receive his proper treatment? It's not like our last chat was the most calm and fine we've ever had. Maybe I should stop being dependent on him and be the most independent woman I could ever be. After working on my eye shadow, I put on fake mascara and constantly brushed it with a charcoal brush to make it appear more darker. I put on a wing eyeliner to best suit my siren eyes and my pupils. All set up and done, I stood up and grabbed my black sling bag as well.
I surely look like I am about to attend a funeral and not a birthday party. But that's what my intention is, right? I went out and saw Gael talking to another girl before shifting his gaze to me. "You look absolutely gorgeous," he complimented me and held my hand, making me turn around, looking like we were dancing. "Need a chaperone?" he suggested and acted like he was bowing his head at me. "No," I shouted and laughed as silly as I could. "I would probably see Cassius inside anyway," I said and excused myself. I saw Gael's smile fade into thin air.
"And also, I need to go there alone to avoid people's eyes. You know how rumors can get bad, right?" I said and slapped his arms. "Well, yeah?" he murmured and scratched his head. "Okay then. I'll get going now?" I asked. Gael nodded and smiled. Will I be able to stand on my feet? Will I?
