Chapter 46-Just Kidding!
Cold sweat splashed through my skin as my stomach rumbled like crazy. It was almost as if a monstrous creature was inside, waiting to see the whole world as it finally slipped out. My internal organs seemed to be shifting, and some needles were poking me inside. I don't even know why I felt this way, but one thing is for sure, Gael's world was too strong to be even ignored.
I had no plans of believing him. Even I, myself, would never think that I would be declared pregnant in just a short time. Of course, that's a shit I couldn't bear. Having an unknown creature by your womb, or maybe it's just that my hate for kids was affecting my mind greatly. "I cannot be pregnant; stop assuming things," I said as I laughed awkwardly and brushed off my hair to the back. I sent both my hands on onto my silky smooth hair and tried putting layers on the back of my ear.
The atmosphere was too heavy to be liked, while Gael's serious face never really helped. His expression said it all. He's not even kidding, nor has he been joking around, and he's clearly aware of his words. How come he's been too bold to start this topic?
"Cassius and I have never had sex before. We haven't done the last chapter of our mating; we can't even touch each other's bodies. Besides, I have no brave cells on my body to even look at his genitals," I told him. I laughed awkwardly and slapped his left arm while holding my stomach.
Oh my freaking God, doing some fake laugh never really helped with all the aching and trembling inside my body. "Are you sure about that? Because the last time I checked you, you were still a virgin, but right now, you aren't," Gael spoke as if he was sure about it. Unconscious, I looked at my figure and tried checking my own body myself. How can he be so serious when he's talking about my virginity here? And for goddamn sake, we're here, in a single room, with no one to listen aside from the both of us...
"See? You're not even sure," he said and placed both his arms on his chest. I tried touching my face and realized I was turning too hot. However, my burning cheeks don't really go well with my cold sweats. Such a shame it's contradicting each other.
"Gael, I can't be pregnant," I said as I sat down. My feet were trembling in fear as my life began to crumble apart. I can't have a baby, not now that I am in an unstable state. Everything happening in my life right now can have a possible wrong turn and be used against me someday. Having a child to protect was never on my list. Having a child would be so troublesome and stressful, and they could be a weapon against me. I can't be slowed down.
"What are you going to do if It happens to be that I am right? Will you kill that blessing and dodge some danger? Or try to keep that disaster and face all the consequences?" Gael asked me and tried holding my stomach for me. The warm fuzzy breeze enveloped my shoulders as some wind kissed my cheeks.
My ears were filled with nature's sound, and I could hear the water splashing. It was a message from the universe. I can feel the ground shaking every time a stone hits the land. I could hear the birds flapping off their wings even though we were miles apart. I can even see the sky turning white to blue and the crowd's loudness.
Just what can I do? Should I follow what my heart desires, or should I follow what the universe wants? They say everything happens for a reason, but what could it be? Would it be beneficial for me, or would it cause me another mess?
"Hey, what are you going to do? Have you decided on everything yet? Shall I help you with some critical thinking?" Gael offered as if he could be of any help. He assumed to be useful when all he did right now was to stir my hopes up. One thing is for certain, and I do not know how I could end up being pregnant when I have not even shared my body with anyone yet. Second, I am still a virgin and can be sure my soul's been pure. Third, my sickness wasn't a clear sign of pregnancy; maybe, we were just assuming things. Also, if I happen to bear a child, this could be Cassius'.
Apparently, I have only shared a night with one guy, and that's Cassius. I have never tried sleeping in another man's arms and would never dare to do that. I could never betray or cheat on him; that's not what I am. I could have the title of being the mother of Cassius' son, but will it be worth it? Will it be worth it after he leaves me and decides to cut off things as if we never really happened? His distancing himself was a clear sign of abandonment.
If only I could easily cut off strings with my mate, I would have already done that so that I could finally free myself of a burden I never really wanted. A child is not a blessing for fallen lovers. It is simply a leftover grudge that would be passed down to either of the two. I could never allow this child to be born or be given life. "You must have overthought very badly," Gael murmured, laughing like crazy on my side. He had this smile of a clown and a mocking irritating sound that I would never like.
"Relax. You have no time to be this stressed out," he shouted, giggling in his seat. He stood up, and only then I realized how good he was dressed up. "You should tidy up yourself. After all, you were invited to the alpha's birthday party," he excitedly said and handed me an invitation.
"Make yourself presentable," he said in a serious tone of voice, ordering me to do so. What am I supposed to do? Work my butt out so I could attend this stupid event? All of that overthinking just for this?
