Chapter 45-Womb of Life

Everything seemed to be a lot more complicated right now. With all the speculations and news circling around my world, I couldn't help but pity myself. How and why did I reach this kind of stage? When did it all start to fall out of its original state? Cassius and I have been struggling with our communication.

It was so sudden that I couldn't help but raise too much suspicion about what we had become.

Although, I may have gaslighted myself into thinking that our current situation had something to do with what Kairo and I talked about before. Did Cassius knows that we.. never mind, I just hoped he didn't. I've also heard a lot about him. All the praises and compliments were hard to resist, and I knew he was that mighty. No wonder everyone's falling in love with him but back off.I am the one he chose to be with! Should I even boast about it?

"What the hell are you doing hiding here?" Gael asked me out of the blue, which startled me. I've been feeling no better, and my sickness has returned. I felt like anytime now, and I would have to puke all my internal organs out and bleed to death. Why did my earthly fur not block all the viruses and stop any cold from entering my ethereal body? I should have myself checked at this point.

"What do you mean? What are your symptoms?" Gael said and touched my forehead, feeling my body's heat. For the first time in a lifetime, someone actually cared for me. Why was I being too dramatic about this anyway? Gael's palms felt so comforting and warm that I could stay this way all day.

I felt as if the clouds were caressing my face, and some fuzzy warm air was enveloping both my arms, as his enchanting face was a blessing I couldn't get rid of. Is this the first time I actually complimented his features? Oh my fucking God, he's insane! Gael broke me, did he not?

"Hey, I am asking, are you okay?" he snapped me back into reality, and he faked a cough as he redeemed his hands away from me. Such a boomer, as always."Won't you stop dozing off like some statue or something? You're making me worry; you're a little different right now. Have you been wolfing out secretly? I swear to god I can smell something strange from you," Gael said, sniffing me.

He was in search of something but could not get his nose to what he was craving. Of course, even I don't know what he's talking about. "Oh, come on! Maybe it's the sweet scent I picked up somewhere. Just imagine all the people interacting with me. You shouldn't be feeling too shocked about it," I said and acted like I was brushing everything off me.

"Or maybe, it's the Luna's scent," he mumbled, took three steps away from me, and covered his nose, acting like he didn't want my smell to enter his silly nostrils. I tried lifting my wrist to my face and smelled it. I don't know how to feel about it since I can't seem to think about what he just sensed.

Originally, men's smelling senses were entirely tougher than a woman's. "But I don't reek of her Highness' scent. I smell like any other ordinary wolf with a little vanilla perfume spice and some almond and grass?" I disgustingly uttered as I finally got a hold of it. Gael teased me by walking away.

"Now, won't you take a bath and change your clothes? I swear to God, you've been wearing those pair of cotton pants for a whole week already, and still, you don't even plan on taking some preventive measures. Eventually, you might kill someone with your disgusting stinky body," He mocked me and laughed.

I had no choice but to look at my figure myself. I indeed look like a mess, a hot mess, and I am not complaining. Besides, no one is going to get mad about it except for Gael, of course—such a huge pain in my ass. "But I'm sick! How can you tell your friend to wash herself up after knowing she's already been falling off for a couple of days due to some headache? Aren't you going to feel some pity for me or maybe, feel empathy? You've seen it yourself, and I am indeed in bad shape," I said as I groaned in pain and acted like I was too tired to even talk to him.

I purposely sat on the floor and held my temple as I massaged it. I looked at him with those two shiny eyes with plans to make him feel bad about himself and ask him to care for me.

Since my mate won't do so, I tried acting like I was desperate and in need of help, but instead of playing along, I watched his face turn serious. His brows furrowed as if he was not finding any amusement in the scene in front of him. He was staring straight into my soul and examining my body from head to toe and toe to head, finding some fault.

"Are you sure it's just some cold? You look so pale and definitely look so heavy," he murmured in his place and walked up to me. His gaze was unpredictable that I don't even know why he approached me up to an inch away from my body. Gael lifted my ears and chin, pinched my body, and even tried pulling my hair. "Ouch! What the hell are you even doing?" I asked, making him turn paper white.

"Raya, Are you pregnant?"
