Chapter 89 - The Beta's Fate
“Welcome young Prince and Princesses. The Whispering Willow Coven is honored by your presence. I am the High-Witch Rowena Goldson.”
“Good morning High-Witch. These are my mates, Princesses Dawn and Farrah. They wish to talk to your healers and also your finance coordinator. I would like to ask you about missing girls in your coven.”
“Yes, please come into my home. We have had three girls go missing. Gya and Gianna will be with us in a moment. They will come get you mates.”
“Three girls?” Dawn asks.
“Yes. On the summer solstice, two went missing. We’ve tried to locate them, but they seem to be too far away. They have been gone for two months. My niece Delilah went missing a couple of days ago. There is an echo of her essence near. We are working on pinpointing her location,” Rowena said.
Before Wes could ask her for a description, they were interrupted by two light-witches that poofed into Rowen’s living room. Wes’ eyes went big.
“Gya, Gianna, this is Prince Wes and his mates Princesses Dawn and Farrah. Please show them around and answer any questions they have.”
The light-witches bowed and walked his mates out of Rowena’s house.
“Was that blinking?” Wes asked.
“Yes, very good.”
“I have a light-witch in my pack that can blink. She’s one of my Elite Warriors.”
“That’s a great gift to have.”
“Yes, she will come in handy. This niece of yours, Delilah, can you describe her please?”
“Young. She’s only sixteen. Blonde hair, cut very short in a pixie cut. She’s slender. Looks more like an adolescent than a teenage girl.”
“We have her,” Wes began.
“Excuse me?”
Wes felt the air shift. It sort of crackled, he watched the witch, electricity tickled her fingers and glided up her arms.
“Calm yourself witch. She was kidnapped by a group of humans. Three humans came to the Royal Pack to kidnap some she-wolves. My mate, Dawn, stopped them and in the process was hurt. She almost died. We captured one of the humans, and he gave us information about other females that were taken. My uncle, who is also my father-in-law, some Elites Warriors, and I went on a rescue mission. We rescued six females. Four she-wolves, 1 light witch and 1 hybrid. Your niece is safe in the Royal Pack and is being treated for any injuries. I am on a mission to recruit warriors, and whatever help I can find, to rescue other females that are rumored to have been taken. You may send someone to the Royal Pack to retrieve your niece.”
“Thank you. Thank you so much young Prince. I am so sorry I lost my temper. She is all the family I have left. My sister, her mother, was killed many years ago by some obsessed human boyfriend. My sister had lost her beloved when she was pregnant with Delilah. When Delilah was three, my sister dated a young human. After six months, something changed in him and he became mean. He killed her, and tried to kill my niece, but I took care of him. I am not particularly fond of humans. If you need our help, I would be glad to give you five witches that are not only proficient in combat, but have power of their own. I have a fire witch, a water witch, two wind witches and an earth witch.”
“Rowena, that would be much appreciated. I just came here to inform you about Delilah, but I will take the help.”
“Then it is done. Now I would like to talk about one of your mates. Farrah. As witches, we have our own healing magic, not on the level as Dawn, but we do alright. However, we are not a rich coven. I had a visit from our mother, Hecate. She informed me twins would be coming for a visit and that would help us. We keep our coven afloat by selling our potions. I may hate humans, but I don’t hate their money. Some of our witches are very talented in making certain creams and potions that help with aging. We make a killing with the very rich. However, the last couple of years something has been happening with our crops. They haven’t been yielding the berries, wheat and herbs we’ve been using in our concoctions. We barely are getting a quarter of what we need. Not one of my earth witches can figure out why. Hecate said your mate has the Abundance magic. Is this true?”
“It is. I am sure all you have to do is explain it to her and she would be happy to help.”
Wes watched as the witch closed her eyes for all of a second. Then she smiled at him.
“Your visit has been a true blessing. Gya has already spoken to your mate. She is at our fields and gardens now. Would you like to go there and watch with me?
“Absolutely, I have yet to see my mates use their gifts. This will be a treat for me.”
Rowena stood, “Give me your hand. You are about to experience blinking.”
Wes was intrigued and immediately gave her his hand. One minute he was in Rowena’s living room, the next he felt a pull in his gut and then he was standing behind his mates and the two witches that they were with.
Wes felt dizzy and Rowena put her hand on his shoulder.
“It takes a minute to steady yourself if you aren’t used to the blinking,” she said with an amused gleam in her eyes.
Wes nodded stoically and focused on his loves. Farrah was on her knees, her hands dug into the earth. He watched as she rocked a little and then her arms started to glow. The glow shot down her arms into the earth. The surrounding area seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. The glow extended outward through the dirt. Every plant, stalk and bush glowed. Wes turned to look at the garden that was a few feet away and even that area was glowing. All of a sudden, everything bloomed with a bounty of fruit, wheat, nuts, and herbs. There was a cheer that went into the air and Wes saw children jumping up and down screaming with glee.
“Our food has also been low. I didn’t think she could do it, so I didn’t bring it up. But look at her. She’s making everything bloom. We’ll be able to harvest for our products and our feasting.”
“I am glad we were able to visit. It seems like both of our Goddesses have made it to where we came into each other’s lives.”
“I agree. What is she doing now?”
Wes saw that Farrah went to Dawn and grabbed a hand. They walked over to the animal pens.
“Do you feel it, Dawny?”
“I do,” Dawn whispered.
They walked up to two cows. Still holding hands, they used their other hands to run them over first one cow and then the other. Then they went over to a giant sow. The pig laid there in the mud and didn’t move as his mates ran their hands over it. Then they went to a small pond. Farrah let go of Dawn and put her hands in the water. Her hands glowed and the pond burst full of fish. They just multiplied.
“What did they do to those animals?” Gya asked.
“I have no idea, we should ask them,” Wes said.
When his mates walked back to the group they were both full of smiles.
“What did you just do?” Rowena asked.
“The animals have just been bred. Dawn and I helped them become impregnated. We felt something calling to us, pushing us to help the animals along. Dawn helped with the implantation and I helped multiply. Each cow will have two calves. The sow will have ten piglets, and I multiplied the fish in the pond three-fold.”
“Dear Hecate, we are saved. We won’t starve, we’ll have plenty to harvest for our products and to eat. You three are truly a blessing,” Rowena burst into tears. Gya and Gianna engulfed her in their arms. They too were crying with joy.
Wes saw his mates beaming and he opened his arms. They hugged him with joy.
“I am very happy this was a great visit. I will let my brother know about someone collecting Delilah.”
“Yes, we will send someone immediately. The five witches are ready to go. They will meet you at the front gate.”
“Thank you, Rowena,” Wes said.
“No, thank you! Your visit benefited us immensely. Please tell the King I will be sending representatives to the Kingdom to talk about an alliance.”
Wes was surprised, “I will. Thank you.”
They left ten minutes later after picking up the five witches. This trip started out better than he thought it would. He was already ten warriors up, and five of them with powers. He hoped their trip to White Fang and Crimson River would be just as good. .
