Chapter 83 - The Beta's Fate
Farrah and Dawn’s eyes widened as they saw the beautiful curvaceous blonde walking provocatively up to Wes. But before she could put hands on him, Farrah snarled and grabbed her by the throat. Dawn growled low in hers and stepped in front of Wes.
Jaxon noticed that the girls’ eyes changed to ruby red and jade green. He smiled and looked at Wes. Wes had a sh*t eating grin on his face with his arms crossed over his chest. It made Jaxon chuckle. It wasn’t often you saw a smile on that scary Alpha.
“Who in the f*ck are you?” Farrah snapped out.
“Get off of me, do you know who I am?” screeched Regina.
“Yeah. You're about to be dead f*cking meat,” Farrah snarled.
“Farrah, language,” Lillyn said, as she walked up to her girls with Koda at her side.
“Mother, she was going to put hands on my mate, and she called him lover,” she growled again.
“Oh, then, proceed,” Lillyn said, staring at the obnoxious female.
“Mate? Wes, you found your mate?” Regina whined, as she wrenched herself from Farrah.
“Mates, b*tch he’s ours,” Dawn said, in a low, menacing voice. Those close to them gasped. Dawn was not known to be the one that was aggressive.
Regina looked at Dawn and Farrah and then at Wes.
“Well, then I guess he didn’t tell you we were lovers in my father’s Kingdom,” she said smugly.
“We were not,” Wes said. “You tried, I rejected.”
“That’s the truth,” Koda and Lillyn said at the same time.
“What? He’s lying,” Regina screeched.
“Dear, there are two people here that can tell when someone is lying or telling the truth. A gift from the Goddess herself. And once our King comes over, that will make three. He and your father are making their way over now. Would you like to repeat yourself?” Lillyn asked.
Regina paled and looked hastily behind her. She shook her head and stepped aside as her father stepped up to all of us.
“King Bousse, it is nice to see you again. Please let me introduce my mates. This is Princess Dawn and Princess Farrah Black.”
“Hello Princesses. So you are the two that took my best bodyguard away. I don’t blame you, Wes. You two are lovely.”
“Thank you,” the girls said in unison.
“May I also introduce my in-laws. Royal Seer Lillyn Dawson and Royal Beta, Koda Black.”
After the introductions, everyone dispersed. Regina glared at Wes and the girls.
“Keep glaring, we can take this out on the training grounds,” Farrah said.
“Are you challenging me?” Regina asked. “You would regret it, I am an excellent opponent.”
“Maybe on your back you are,” Dawn sneered.
Regina gasped at the insult and stomped off.
“That was a good one,” Jaxon said.
Farrah and Dawn turned to look at Wes. He put his hands up in surrender.
“I have never encouraged her. She tried, but I always turned her down. I have only ever wanted you two.”
“Better stay that way, Mate. I don’t like that woman. I’m going to end up seriously hurting her before she leaves,” Farrah said.
“I find this totally hot,” Jaxon said.
“F*ck off, Jaxon. Mine remember,” Wes griped.
“How can I forget? They have only ever had eyes for you, no matter how much I have tried to avert their attention. Plus, you kept throwing it in my face every chance you got.”
“That’s because you kept flirting with them all the time.”
"Pfft, semantics. It was all fun and games. I need to go find that redhead.”
“You need a mate,” Dawn said, smiling.
“Don’t I know it? From your beautiful lips to the Goddess’ beautiful ears,” Jaxon said, and winked before walking off.
“I need to cool off, Jade is going insane in my head.”
“Go with her Wes, please. Calm her down.”
“Will you be okay by yourself?”
“Of course. My temper isn’t as hot as hers.”
“Yes it is, Dawny, it just simmers slower,” Farrah said.
Dawn hugged her sister and then kissed Wes. She made her way to Eli and introduced herself to his mate. She was a lovely girl, nothing like her evil sister, Dawn thought.
Dawn danced with her father and also with Magnus. She loved the former king like he was her own father. She was ecstatic that he was now her father-in-law. He regaled her with his and Mystics' love story, and she smiled at him as she listened.
“You don’t know how happy I am now that Wes has been able to claim you and your sister. He was always so protective of you two as you all grew up. I don’t know if you remember when you and Farrah were five, and you were playing by the pond with Eli. Wes was standing by the trees watching you all play. He had this little smile on his face. Then Eli accidentally tripped you and you went flying into the pond. Farrah screamed at the top of her lungs and raced in after you. Neither of you had been taught to swim yet. Eli stood there crying. Your mother and Mystic screamed as they raced towards the pond. He took off like a shot. His little seven-year-old legs practically levitated he was going so fast. He raced past everyone and dove into the water. It grabbed both of you and walked out of the pond, carrying the two of you in his arms. The water wasn’t so deep for him, because even at seven he was taller than most.”
“I don’t remember that,” Dawn said, smiling.
“He has loved you girls from the moment you were born. Always wanting to be around you. Hardly even let your own father get close to you if he was in the room.”
Dawn giggled.
She walked around the ballroom after her dance and talked to friends and other pack members. She found the two women she was looking for by the punch bowl. Two men were standing close to them.
“Nancy, Harriet, how are you two?”
They squealed when they saw her.
“Princess Dawn,” Harriet started.
“Just Dawn, Harriet.”
“Dawn, this is my mate George. We are with pup!”
“Yay, I am so happy for you, congratulations,” she said. They thanked her.
“This is my mate, Franklin, and we are also with pups. Twins! Thank you so much for all your help.”
“Congratulations. My sister and I are so glad we were able to help. You two take very good care of yourselves.”
“Thank you, Princess Dawn. And please thank your sister for us as well,” Franklin said.
“I will, you’re all very welcome.” She walked off happy that she and Farrah were able to help their pack members.
A body stood in front of her, and she stopped in her tracks.
“I see Wes and your feisty sister aren’t around. Feeling left out? I bet he loves her more. They’re probably going at it right now. I am surprised you aren’t feeling any betrayal pain.”
“Regina, you’re st*pid, aren’t you? Did you not pay attention in school when they taught you about the mateship bond between identical twins? Or because you thought it didn’t pertain to you, that you didn’t need to listen. We share the same DNA, there are no betrayal bonds. As a mate we are one. I don’t care if they have time alone. There is no jealousy. I know I will be getting my time soon. Even if he wanted to be with her for a month straight, I’d be fine with it. We are his mates. Now kindly f*ck off.”
“Oh, you think you are so tough. Your sister seems to be the tough one. I don’t think you have what it takes to take on a true Royal Princess. You’re just a made one, because you are mated to Wes.”
“Oh, please do tell our Queen that,” King Maxon said from behind her.
Dawn smirked as all color drained from Regina's face. She turned around and Dawn saw that King Bousse was standing there with Maxon, and he was seething.
“Father,” Regina gasped.
“Go to the car now. Royal Beta Ralston will take you back to the plane. You are going home.”
“Father no, please.”
“Regina Bousse, you will be punished and remanded to the stables where you will clean out the stalls and help with the animals. I have already mindlinked Beta Ralston, he is waiting for you out front. He will also be informing the Head Stable Omega. You will also bunk with the other stable, Omegas.”
Dawn was pleased to see Regina’s jaw drop. She slowly turned and walked out of the ballroom in a daze.
“Princess Dawn, I am so sorry for my daughter’s behavior.”
“Think nothing of it, King Bousse. Jealousy can blind some. That green-eyed monster can be the downfall of one's ego.”
“That it can. Thank you for being gracious. You had every right to challenge her.”
“It is my nephew-in-law's birthday. I wouldn't dare take the spotlight off of him tonight.”
She bowed to him and her king and walked away.
Father, I need to go for a run. I will be around.
Okay, I will let Wes and Farrah know when they come back from wherever they went.
Thank you.
Dawn ran upstairs and changed into her running outfit.
She let Ruby out when she got to the edge of the forest. She was fuming. Ruby was seething too. Never have they been so disrespected in such a short time and by two different females. Both of them wanted her mate. HER MATE! Why couldn’t other she-wolves respect that?
Ruby was a blur in the forest. She ran fast, hard, and far. She came to the edge of the kingdom's border. There was a creek where she drank and then laid down to rest for a minute.
I am glad we are mated, but we have never been so upset like this before.
I know Ruby. I am glad we are mated too. We are going to have to learn to control our temper better. I wanted to rip both of those she-wolves' necks out. We’ve let our temper almost get the best of us.
I know human. I will try to do better.
I will too, wolf.
Both of them snickered. They always did when they called each other human and wolf. Ruby got up and was about to run back to the palace when she heard a muffled scream. The noise came from across the border. She saw three men carrying two women. One looked to be unconscious and the other was struggling. She recognized the two women. They were both girls from her human's school. They had just turned eighteen. She remembered seeing their lockers decorated before they graduated. She didn’t recognize the men. Were they rogues? They were about half a mile away from her. Ruby and Dawn knew they shouldn’t cross the border. She took a big inhale and was surprised she smelled human. Where were the patrols? How did no one detect the two she-wolves leaving the territory? Normally, the Royal family can feel it when a member crosses the border. Unless these humans had some kind of blocker. Did this have something to do with the missing girls?
Making her mind up, Ruby raced across the border, she instantly felt a zap to her skin, so she knew someone would feel it.
DAWN!
Wes, two she-wolves are being kidnapped. South border.
What are you doing over there?
Tell you later, hurry!
Ruby growled as she got closer. One of the men swung around, a gun in his hand. Before he could bring it up, Ruby jumped and tore his gun hand right off his wrist. The man screamed and dropped to his knees. She picked him up by the head and shook him vigorously. His head tore clean off, his body went flying. She spat out the head. The other two humans yelled and dropped the two girls. One brought his gun up swiftly and shot. Ruby yelped as a dart hit her right shoulder.
DAWN! RUBY!
Wes. They both said faintly.
Ruby shifted back into Dawn. Dawn staggered to her feet. Dizziness enveloped her.
“Who are you?” she slurred.
The men chuckled. The one that shot her put his gun away. He caught her just as she tipped forward.
A huge black wolf and silver wolf pounced on both humans. Dawn was dropped to the ground. A patrol guard covered her with a shirt. She heard yelling and screaming and then silence. Before she passed out, she heard Wes shouting and then nothing.
