Chapter 60 Desperate
After reaching the end of the street, Carl saw a restaurant next to it, wiped the sweat from his forehead, rushed in, and then found a secluded spot to sit down.
The restaurant was air-conditioned, and Carl shook his clothes that were wet with sweat, feeling much cooler.
After several attendants chased after him to the restaurant, they all became anxious when they saw that Carl had disappeared.
"Damn it, let that brat escape."
"If we can't catch him, how are we going to explain to the Hall Master when we go back?"
"Keep chasing. e won't be able to escape far."
After a few followers conferred, they continued to chase towards the street ahead.
Sitting in the restaurant, Carl saw a few attendants leave and let out a long sigh of relief. Looking up, seeing the staff looking at him as a monster, Carl’s face changed, "A cup of tea, then a few small dishes, and all of your restaurant's specialties."
The staff turned pale, looked at Carl, and then walked towards the counter.
At this time, at a table next to it, a man in white cloth clothes walked over, giving Carl a sharp look.
Carl looked up and was blinded.
"Carl, we meet again."
Barr had a gloomy smile on his face, and there was anger behind it.
"What a coincidence!" Carl bitterly smiled, then got up violently and ran towards the restaurant's front door, resulting in two tattooed attendants blocking him just as he reached the front door. In addition to these attendants, there were several people standing at the entrance, all looking at Carl warily.
There had been still a chance to escape, but now, it was hard to escape.
After being brought onto the car, Barr grinned a smile, "Carl, I'm sorry. We can't let you know where we're going, so we can only aggravate you."
After this, an attendant beside him took out a black pocket and put it on Carl's head.
Everything went black and he couldn't see anything clearly, but he could still smell the scent of Barr smoking a cigar.
"Barr, what are you doing? Could it be that you want to kill me?" Carl said.
There was Barr's sneer in his ears, "Carl, that's not right. Now that we still have our things in your hands. I won't be so stupid. As for where you're going, you'll know later. I guarantee you'll be satisfied."
Carl was confused, not sure what was in Barr's mind. Barr was a sneaky and cunning guy. Carl was not sure what method he was trying to use to force him to hand over the things. The staff was now Carl's life preserver, and he wouldn't hand it over until it was absolutely necessary.
After driving for ten minutes, the car stopped.
Carl was pushed down. His head was covered, so he couldn't see what the place was, and it felt like there were a lot of people around him, bustling around. After taking a few steps towards the front, these sounds quickly disappeared and it became extremely quiet.
Although there were no sounds around, Carl could feel that there must be many people standing around.
"Here we are!"
Barr's voice sounded in his ears.
The pockets on his head were taken off. Carl finally saw the surrounding. Because he hadn't seen light for too long and felt these lights were extraordinarily bright.
It took a moment before the surrounding became clear.
Carl looked towards the surroundings. It was a conference room with a lot of chairs and tables, Barr sat on one of the sofas with a cigar in his mouth, playing with the wrench on his finger arrogantly.
Behind Barr, there were a few followers standing behind him, with stern eyes and serious expressions, looking like good at fighting. Carl knew the man who had made him his bodyguard yesterday.
Apart from Barr, there were also seven or eight middle-aged men sitting on the sofas on either side of them, and after glancing at Carl, they then gazed at Barr angrily.
One of the middle-aged men said with a smile, "Barr, you're a son of a bitch. You caused this trouble and invited us here. Do you want us to get involved in this muddle?"
As soon as the middle-aged man spoke, a man with tattoos carved on his face became furious, pointing at Barr and cursing, "You son of a bitch. You played dirty tricks yourself and ended up falling into a trap. Now you even want to get us in there too, I'm telling you that I have put up with you for a long time."
After saying that, Nathan got up, grabbed the chair behind him, and rushed over towards Barr.
A few of Barr's followers behind him saw this and blocked in front of Barr, "What are you doing?"
Nathan's men were not to be trifled with, rushing over and starting to push and shove with Barr's men.
When Carl saw this, he smirked in his heart. What he didn't expect was for these guys to start infighting. He thought Ken should appear, but after looking in the conference room for a while, he never found Ken.
It seemed that these people kept Ken in the dark and met each other in private.
The rest of the middle-aged people saw that things were getting a bit heated and immediately persuaded, "Nathan, we are all responsible for this matter. We can't start infighting at this critical time, otherwise, we'll all be finished."
Nathan stared at Barr, "Okay, it depends on how Barr handles this matter. If he doesn't handle it well and let the others know about it, I will definitely get him killed."
Barr nodded, "Don't worry, Nathan."
Saying that, he looked at Carl with a hideous smile. After opening the video, Barr spoke, "Carl, I have your mother. You hand over the things. Otherwise, not only will your mother not be able to leave, you will also have to be dead here today."
As he said the last word, Barr showed a murderous look.
Carl's gaze fell on the middle-aged woman in the video. It was unclear why he felt an inexplicable sense of intimacy when seeing this middle-aged woman.
Was she really his mother? Carl gradually stiffened.
Ever since he lost his memory, Carl couldn't remember anything before, even the name, which was told to him by Olivia and Sarah. He couldn't remember anything else even more.
"I want to see her." Carl spoke up.
Barr waved towards the person behind him, and the attendant behind him walked in front of Carl and said coldly, "Follow me."
After walking out of the meeting room, Carl followed the man to the corridor and then entered a warehouse.
"Brat, you better behave yourself. You won't be able to escape when you get here."
Saying that, the man snorted and walked out of the warehouse.
Carl's mother saw Carl come in and wanted to call out to him, but her mouth was taped shut and she couldn't say anything with a whimper.
Carl tore the tape off his mother's mouth and said, "Who are you?"
Carl's mother was stunned when she heard such words, and only reacted after a while, looking at Carl angrily, "You son of a bitch, it's only been a few days since we saw each other, you don't even remember your own mother. Wait back, see how I'll deal with you."
"I've lost my memory. I can't remember all the things before."
Carl's mother heard such words, looking sad, "I know it must be for that accident. After you were hospitalized, the physician found me and asked me to make an decision, saying that there was bruising in your head, which was suppressing the nerves. If you didn't operate, you would most likely lose your memory or have nerve problems, but if you operated, it would most likely affect your brain and the odds of success were less than one percent."
Carl's mother let out a long sigh, "I took the liberty of not operating. I know that you're my son, and even if you lose your memory, you'll remember me, right?"
"Are you really my mother?" Carl said.
Barr was treacherous and cunning. If he didn't find out what was going on, he would probably fall into Barr's trap.
When Carl's mother heard such words, she was so angry that she almost cursed.
After a moment, Carl's mother recovered and said anxiously, "Tell me, what's going on here?"
Now there was nothing to hide anymore, Carl told the story of what happened.
"Don't mind me. Now hurry up and flee. When you’re safe, call the police to report this as kidnapping and let them all be arrested."
This was their territory, and so many of them were here. How could he escape? He wasn't even sure where he was now.
Even if he escaped, what could he do? He couldn't just leave his own mother here and run away!
The only way to do that now was to negotiate with Barr and hope that they would keep their word and would release them after he gave them the stuff.
"Come with me!"
A familiar voice sounded behind Carl. It was Olivia. It didn't make sense at all why Olivia could be in such a place.
