CHAPTER 120; SURROUNDED
CHAPTER 120; SURROUNDED
CIERRA
Just as Cassius and I get down from the car, Xander takes over the driving and without hesitation, he reverses the car to drive off. I feel a knot tighten in the pit of my stomach. I was relieved when he said I should go in with Cassius first but I know Xander he’s not the type to leave me in such chaos except he’s going for a greater one, except he’s going to find a solution.
“He’s going to be back, we just have to trust him,” Cassius says from my side while I watch the car fade into the distance.
There is no doubt that I trust Xander. I love him, what is love without trust, however, love comes with so many things which also includes the fear of losing the ones you love.
I nod at Cassius before we begin to approach the warehouse, the sounds of yelling echoes through the doors to our ears, right outside the warehouse. It’s strange how I cannot hear any gun sounds, could they be fighting with their bare hands or are they just yelling at each other?
“Are you ready?” Cassius questions beside me and I nod, giving him permission to push the doors open and as he does I am astonished by the sight in front of me.
It’s definitely not the chaos I expected; the high officials are on one side and Clara is on the other side, seated with a disturbing kind of composure which is contrary to the high officials who are trying to chop each other off with their mouths. However as one of the officials notices me, everyone turns to me. Their mouth almost drops, stunned at the same excited, like a miracle just appeared.
The last thing I want to do is let them win, let them actually get what they want and fulfill their desire, the desire behind the reason they see me as their miracle.
Clara is the first to have her smile dropped as she looked past me, causing my heart to take a leap, fear sipping through me.
“Your mate isn’t here with you?” She questions getting to her feet and so does the rest, their smile dropping not in the disappointed way though. It seems more like they are hoping he actually didn’t come.
Instead of responding to her question, I walk towards Clara.
“What you need is me. Leave Xander out of it” I state firmly, clenching my fist, and staring into her eyes.
“How dare you say that after he killed my husband,” She barks, stepping closer to me, however, Cassius steps before me, pulling his gun and aiming it at her.
“I have had enough of you all,” She spits, pointing at everyone in the warehouse which stirs up yelling from the officials as they curse at her. However, she laughs out loud, so loud and hard her voice echoes through the warehouse walls.
“You can curse at me, you all know without me, you cannot leave here and return to your old lives. The US government is out for you all now” Clara says and continues laughing.
“We refuse to be stuck with a snake-like you, give us the treasure, and let’s go our separate ways” One of the officials yells and the rest yells and nods in agreement.
They truly are divided; the reason they are back here is because of the records that has gone viral. Aside from that I see no reason why they are stuck in here.
“You have no choice, you are all surrounded by my guards and it is my choice to share the treasures if I want or not” Clara shrugs and returns to her seat. There are a lot of guard surrounding the area, some have their guns aimed at the group of high officials while others are targeting their guns at Cassius who’s hand is wrapped around his gun, aiming it at their master; Clara.
“Bring them out” Clara orders and in no time I am faced with tied up Nadine and Damien, who are both pulled by guards.
My gaze shift to Cassius who at first has his demeanor shifted as his eyes widen, and he’s almost lost his focus on the gun in his hands, however he maintains composure, in fact, he’s even more calm than ever. It’s almost as if there’s no reason to fight no more as he places his gun back in his back pocket while Nadine gives him a slight nod.
Surely, something is going on.
“What, you are not going to fight?” Clara huffs out a peal of laughter and I almost respond when something catches my attention.
The guard behind Nadine and Damien is familiar; he was Elizabeth’s personal guard, how did I fail to recognize him. I roam my gaze around with a furrowed brow and that’s when it hits; all the guards are somewhat familiar. Their uniform is just what makes them look strange and different.
Could it be?
“We don’t need to ma’am, our boss is not here yet, he’s getting your daughter, alongside your karma” Cassius states in a relaxed tone.
I should have known, Xander is not the type to leave me when he’s uncertain about winning a fight, he’s already got everything set.
