The Wedding
The Wedding
The day of the wedding dawned with a golden glow, as the first rays of sunlight filtered through the trees, casting a warm, ethereal light over the palace grounds. The garden, which had been the site of Cyrus’s heartfelt proposal, had been transformed into an even more magical place. An archway covered in climbing roses marked the entrance, their petals a delicate blend of white and blush pink.
Rows of chairs draped in ivory fabric lined the pathway leading to the grand gazebo, which was adorned with cascading flowers and soft, billowing curtains. The air was filled with the intoxicating scent of jasmine and lavender, mingling with the sweet fragrance of roses. Lanterns hung from the trees, their light flickering gently in the morning breeze, adding a touch of enchantment to the setting.
Inside the palace, Agnes stood before a full-length mirror, her heart fluttering with excitement and nerves. The seamstress had outdone herself with the gown, creating a masterpiece that made Agnes feel like she was in a fairytale. The dress was a perfect blend of elegance and simplicity, with a bodice made of intricate lace that hugged her figure, and a skirt that flowed out in soft, delicate layers. The train was long, trailing behind her like a whisper of a dream. Tiny pearls and crystals were sewn into the lace, catching the light and sparkling with every movement.
Her hair was styled in loose waves, cascading down her back, with small white flowers woven into the strands. She wore a simple veil that framed her face, adding a touch of mystery and grace. Eunice, her chief bridesmaid, stood beside her, adjusting the veil and smiling warmly.
"You look absolutely stunning, Agnes," Eunice said, her eyes shining with pride and happiness.
"Thank you, Eunice," Agnes replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "I can hardly believe this is real."
Gertrude, Agnes's younger sister, twirled in her flower girl dress, a vision in white and soft pink. She held a basket filled with rose petals, ready to scatter them along the aisle. Gerald, her brother, was the ring bearer, looking dapper in his little suit, his chest puffed out with the importance of his role.
In another part of the palace, Cyrus stood with Theo, his best man, making final adjustments to his attire. He wore a traditional robe. but with a unique twist that spoke of his status and heritage. The robe was a deep, rich blue, embroidered with silver thread that formed intricate patterns, reminiscent of the night sky. His trousers were a matching shade, tailored to perfection.
Theo, equally well-dressed in a dark suit, clapped him on the shoulder. "You clean up well, Alpha," he said with a grin.
Cyrus chuckled, though his eyes were filled with emotion. "Thank you, Theo. For everything."
"It's an honor," Theo replied sincerely. "You and Agnes deserve all the happiness in the world."
The guests began to arrive, filling the garden with a buzz of excitement and anticipation. Friends, family, and allies of Cyrus and Agnes took their seats, marveling at the beauty of the setting. Lords and ladies in their finest attire, warriors dressed in ceremonial garb, and even a few members of other packs were present, showing their support and unity.
Among the guests were Adrianna, Moana, Philomena, Tina, and the wives of high-ranking Lords who have now begun to respect Agnes. They sat together, whispering excitedly.
As the music began to play, a soft, melodious tune that floated through the air, the guests turned their attention to the aisle. Gertrude stepped forward, scattering rose petals with a delighted smile, followed by Gerald, who carried the rings with utmost care.
Then came Eunice, walking gracefully, her gown a soft lavender that complemented the colors of the garden. She took her place beside the altar, where the priestess awaited, her presence serene and commanding.
Finally, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived. Agnes appeared at the end of the aisle, her arm linked with Picasso who stood in for her absent father. She had been surprised he came and had already prepared her mind to walk down the aisle alone, however her mother's brother had shown up. The sight of her took everyone’s breath away. She moved with a grace that seemed almost otherworldly, her eyes locked onto Cyrus's as she walked towards him.
Cyrus's heart swelled with love and pride as he watched Agnes approach. She looked like a vision, an embodiment of all his hopes and dreams. When she reached him, they took each other’s hands, their fingers intertwining.
The priestess began the ceremony, her voice clear and resonant, carrying the weight of tradition and blessing. She spoke of love and unity, of the bond that transcends time and space, a bond that was especially meaningful for werewolves, whose lives were often marked by struggle and loyalty.
"Today," the priestess said, "we join two souls who have found each other again, despite the trials they have faced. Their love is a testament to the strength of the heart and the resilience of the spirit."
Cyrus and Agnes exchanged vows, their voices filled with emotion. They promised to stand by each other, face every challenge, and cherish each moment they shared. Their words were simple yet profound, echoing the deep connection they felt.
Theo stepped forward with the rings, Cyrus took the smaller ring, sliding it onto Agnes's finger with a gentle touch, his eyes never leaving hers. She did the same, her hands trembling slightly with the intensity of the moment.
The priestess raised her hands in blessing. "By the power vested in me, and with the blessings of the moon goddess and our ancestors, I pronounce you joined in heart and soul. You may kiss the bride."
Cyrus leaned in, capturing Agnes's lips in a kiss that was tender and filled with promise. The world seemed to hold its breath for a moment, before erupting in cheers and applause.
