The Arrival

The Arrival
It had been two years since Cyrus and Agnes got married in the enchanted garden. Their love had only grown stronger with each day. The palace was always filled with laughter and joy, all thanks to them. This morning, the sun shone softly, making everything look golden and magical.

Agnes, with her big pregnant belly, was relaxing in their bedroom on a comfy chaise lounge. She was gently rubbing her belly, feeling the little kicks and movements from inside. They were both so excited to meet their twins soon.

Cyrus walked in and immediately noticed Agnes. Despite her being tired from the pregnancy, she still looked beautiful. He went over to her, knelt down, and kissed her belly tenderly.

"Good morning, my love," he said softly. "And good morning to our little ones."

Agnes smiled, her eyes sparkling with love. "Good morning, Cyrus. They've been really active this morning."

Cyrus laughed quietly and put his hand on her belly. "Seems like they're eager to meet us."

He gave her belly one last kiss and stood up. "I have a meeting in the throne room, but I'll be back soon. If you need anything, just call for me."

Agnes nodded, watching him with pride and love. "I will. Go take care of business, my Alpha."

Cyrus headed to the throne room, already thinking about the meeting. The council was waiting to discuss the state of their territory and how to keep things peaceful. When he entered, everyone got quiet and looked at him.

He took his seat at the head of the table and nodded to Theo, who was ready to help. "Let's get started."

The meeting went smoothly, covering everything from trade to border security. Cyrus listened carefully, always thinking about what was best for his people.

Suddenly, the doors to the throne room flew open, and a palace servant rushed in, looking panicked. "Alpha! The Luna has gone into labor!"

Cyrus's heart skipped a beat. He jumped up, his chair making a loud noise. "Excuse me," he said quickly to the council. Without waiting for a response, he ran out of the room, with Theo right behind him.

The palace was a blur as he sprinted through the halls, only thinking about getting to Agnes. He could hear the midwives and servants as he got closer to their chambers. The door was slightly open, and he pushed it wide, his eyes finding Agnes immediately.

Agnes was on the bed, her face showing how much pain she was in. The midwives were working around her, looking both concerned and determined. The air smelled of herbs meant to help with the labor.

"Agnes!" Cyrus was at her side instantly, holding her hand. She squeezed his hand tightly, almost painfully.

"Cyrus," she gasped, her voice strained. "The babies... they're coming."

He brushed a strand of hair from her forehead, his heart aching to see her in so much pain. "I'm here, love. I'm here."

The head midwife, an experienced woman with a calm demeanor, looked at Cyrus. "Alpha, it's going to be a difficult birth. Both babies are in breech position. We're doing everything we can to ensure their safe delivery."

Cyrus nodded, his jaw set with determination. "Do whatever it takes. Just keep them safe."

Agnes cried out as another contraction hit her, and Cyrus felt helpless, wishing he could take her pain away. The midwives worked quickly, preparing for the complicated delivery, their hands steady and practiced.

Time seemed to drag on as Agnes labored. The pain was intense, and each contraction was a new wave of agony. She held Cyrus's hand tightly, drawing strength from his presence.

"The first baby is almost here," the head midwife announced. "We need to be very careful."

Cyrus watched, his heart in his throat, as the midwives gently guided the first baby’s legs out. The process was slow and careful, every movement was measured to prevent any harm. Agnes’s cries filled the room, showing her strength and determination.

Finally, after what felt like forever, the first baby was born, a tiny, squirming figure. The midwife quickly cleared the baby’s airways, and a loud, healthy cry filled the room.

"It's a boy," the midwife announced, her voice filled with relief and joy.

Cyrus felt a wave of emotion wash over him as he looked at his son. But there was no time to relax; the second baby was on her way.

Agnes was exhausted, her body trembling from the effort. Cyrus leaned close and whispered in her ear, "You're doing amazing, Agnes. Just a little more. We're almost there."

She nodded weakly, her eyes full of determination. The midwives focused on delivering the second baby, who was also in a breech position. The process was just as careful, every moment filled with tension.

Agnes cried out again, her body straining. The room seemed to hold its breath as the midwives worked with precision. Finally, the second baby was born, her cries joining her brother’s in a beautiful, chaotic symphony.

"It's a girl," the midwife said, her voice choked with emotion.

Cyrus looked at his daughter, tears filling his eyes. The midwives quickly tended to both babies, making sure they were healthy and breathing well. Then, they wrapped the twins in soft blankets and handed them to Cyrus.

He held them both, one in each arm, amazed by how small and perfect they were. They were so tiny, yet so full of life and promise. His heart swelled with love so profound it was almost overwhelming.

Agnes looked up at him, her eyes filled with tears of joy and relief. "Cyrus," she whispered, her voice trembling. "We did it."

He smiled and kissed her forehead. "You did it, my love. You were incredible."

She reached out and rested her hand on their son’s head. "They’re beautiful."

Cyrus nodded, unable to speak as he glanced at his wife, her face drenched in sweat as the midwives cleaned her up. She had lost quite a lot of blood and looked a bit pale but knew she was going to make it.

Everything was perfect for him.
