Chapter Seventy-One: Vampires.
“I TOLD you that I don’t need a concubine!” Loki shouted at the dining area.
Everyone was shocked at his sudden burst. Now he knows why Shiloh has been distancing herself from him. It is because of this! He didn’t realize that such a rumor has been spreading around the palace until now.
He was talking with Jane because they have a business. It is regarding the garden inside the palace. Jane presents a newly designed garden that is child-friendly to make sure that his daughters and soon-to-be children will be safe in the garden.
“Do you know about this?” He glared at Jane.
Jane’s face flashed red. She couldn’t say anything…
“That means yes, right?” he scoffed. “My wife is fine. She was just worried about our daughters just like how every parent are. The Queen was just extra careful now because of what happened last year. It’s not about her trauma anymore!”
No one replied to what he said. He couldn’t believe that the Royal Council is still like this.
“You still don’t respect my decisions. If this continues, I have no choice but to replace all the members of Royal Councils,” he stated.
Everyone gasped in surprise. “What are you saying? You can’t do that to us!”
“Then respect me. I am the King Alpha of this country but you treat me like a quack,” he replied. Then he stormed out of the room.
He walked passed through them. He doesn’t care what they think now. All he cares was to follow his wife and tell her that she got it all wrong.
Inside the palace, he tried to find her. He looked at their room and their daughters’ but she wasn’t there. So she decided to go to her office and see her schedule for today. But her assistant wasn’t there too.
“Where’s the Queen?” Loki asked the Royal Guard that was guarding her office.
“Your highness, I didn’t know exactly but from what I heard earlier. They are going to the market to see how the new business is doing.”
He sighed. He has a lot of things to do today but on the other hand, how could he do his work when all he thinks about is the Queen?
Instead of just waiting there, he decided to go out and take the car with him. Beta Lincoln was doing something else so he got a Royal Guard instead of waiting for him.
On the way to the market, he was confused about why there are people running. That’s when he started to get nervous.
“Hurry! We have to get in there!” Loki told the Royal Guard.
It was in total chaos, Loki was surprised to see the new store. It was completely broken!
He immediately went out of the car. Everyone around bowed before him.
“What happened in here?” he asked.
“A group of men attacked the store, your highness! They took the lady who’s taking care of the store as well as the Queen and her assistant.”
“W-what are you saying?” he asked, stuttering.
“They are not werewolves, your highness! Those are vampires.”
He was shocked. “What the hell’s happening? We have an agreement with the vampires, centuries ago! We have boundaries, and they can’t go in our packs!”
“Your highness, I heard that the lady you got to take care of this store stole something from them…”
Loki’s body felt cold. It feels like everything’s in slow motion. He couldn’t believe what had just happened. His wife who has the trauma of something like this was abducted!
“Let’s go back to the palace and gather royal guards. I’m sure that they haven’t reached back to their town!”
They immediately went back to the palace to tell them what happened. But when they gets back, the elder vampire was waiting there.
Beta Lincoln was standing in front of him.
“What are you doing here? We had an agreement before. Where’s my wife?”
The elderly vampire, Simon raised his head.
“Be thankful that I take your Queen back safely,” he replied. “Do you know that you are trying to start a war between us, again?”
His brow arched. “What are you saying? I didn’t do anything!”
Simon quickly disappeared and then in a snap of an eye, he was in front of him.
“Did you know that your people are stealing important gems from us?” he asked.
His eyes narrowed. “What are you saying?”
“A pink gemstone that we have in our cave that was protecting our town was slowly decreasing. And when we investigate it, we found out that your people are stealing it every night. Your new business? The jewelry, the gems they used are from us.”
He was shocked. Truth was, he didn’t check it throughly. This business came from the idea of Jean, the newest Royal Council.
He gritted his teeth. “I didn’t know about it. But I will make sure to get your gems back. I will investigate it thoroughly.”
“You only have three days,” Simon said. Then in a snap, Shiloh was in his arms.
His eyes widened in surprise. “What the hell are you doing?!”
“Or I will kill your Queen.”
Shiloh’s eyes were sad but at the same time, she managed to smile at him.
“I know you can make it, your highness… I’ll wait.”
That’s when Simon and Shiloh disappeared.
For a while, Loki was just standing there, he couldn’t believe that another problem has appeared right in front of him!
“Your highness, we have to hurry!”
If Lincoln didn’t shake him, he wasn’t able to get back to his senses. He looked up at Lincoln and then back to the people around them.
“Arrest Jean and Jane from Royal Council,” he said with gritted teeth. “They need to tell us why this happened!”
Lincoln bowed to him and then immediately run inside the palace together with the Royal Soldiers.
He clenched his fists. He was so mad that he wanted to kill Jean for doing this. But what could he do? She’s a woman after all.
If he wasn’t blind of the accusations of the Royal Councils, then maybe this didn’t happen.
